Bath traditions have come down to us from time immemorial and have not lost their relevance to this day. A bathhouse on a personal plot or in a private house is always the pride of the owner and a great place for relaxation and recreation. The hot steam of the bath, the smell of natural wood, birch brooms - all this has a beneficial effect on the body, restores emotional and psychological balance.

The heart of the bath and its main attribute is the stove. The functionality of the bath, its main idea and essence depends on how correctly the design or method of laying the stove is chosen.

Features of the sauna stove

As a rule, a bathhouse consists of three main rooms: a steam room, a sink and a dressing room. In some cases, the steam room and the washing compartment can be combined. The sauna stove is installed according to a special technology in such a way as to evenly warm up all rooms, but with the condition that a higher temperature is maintained in the steam room and the washing room.

One of the essential components of a sauna stove is a water tank. Bricks or stones also play an important role. The stones with which the stove is lined absorb heat, keep it warm for a long time, and when poured with cold water, they provide the room with hot steam.

Varieties

According to the material of manufacture, bath stoves are made of metal or fired brick.

Brick

A brick (or stone) stove is a classic of sauna buildings, but its construction requires certain experience and skills, adherence to safety precautions, knowledge of technology for ensuring good traction and other important nuances, without which the correct functioning of the stoves is impossible. In addition, the stone structure requires sufficient space in the room, the creation of a separate foundation, and special adherence to fire safety rules.

Metallic

Today, the most economical option is metal bath stoves, possessing a number of undeniable advantages.

  • Profitability. The metal stove is compact, its installation does not take much time and space.
  • Huge selection of options. It is possible to choose a model suitable for a specific bath.
  • Ease of installation. In order to install a finished metal oven, no oven skills are required.
  • Due to its compactness, the metal stove can be lined with a heater. So it will keep warm for a long time and look like a classic sauna stove.

Models

Among the variety of modern stove products for baths, it is worth highlighting the metal bath stove of the domestic manufacturer "Thermosphere". The company specializes in the production of steel furnaces and solid heating boilers and over several years of work has positively established itself on the Russian market. Customer reviews are mostly positive: they speak of the high quality of the products, ease of installation and ease of use of the products.

One of the most popular models from the manufacturer today is the Gorynych sauna stove. The product is made of heat-resistant steel, has a longitudinal combustion system and a helical chimney. It is presented on the market in two forms.

"Gorynych-2"

The model is designed for large rooms, combined steam room and sink.

"Gorynych-3"

This configuration is designed for a separate steam room and washroom. The product is installed in the wall between the rooms, heating the entire building. The design is compact and functional: the heater is located in the steam room, the water tank is in the washing room, and the furnace is kindled from the dressing room.

Device and technical characteristics

The elongated spherical shape of the firebox passes into the chimney, which consists of two elbows. The dimensions of the Gorynych-3 model vary within one meter in height, length and width. The weight of the product is about 200 kg, which may be a disadvantage during transportation, but it will turn out to be an undoubted advantage for reliability and stability.

The cleaning hatch is located at the end of the chimney, the volumetric deep heater can accommodate a large number of large stones - up to 100 kg. The stove is built into the wall in such a way that the partition extends over the surface of the stove. Depending on the layout of the sauna room, the stove can have a different arrangement of the tank and the heater: on the right or on the left.

High-strength steel (8 mm) with double external and internal penetration ensures a long service life - at least 15 years. A water tank with a volume of 100 liters and dimensions of 30x70 cm does not take up much space and is the optimal container for heating water. The boiling water in the tank, diluted with cold water, is enough for the whole family or a large company.

Installation

Installation drawings are included with the product and attached to the data sheet. The installation of the stove requires laying a concrete foundation. Important: metal sheets or bricks are not suitable for the base! Metal does not guarantee the stability of the structure, which can be unsafe, lead to fire or scalding with boiling water. Brick, even heat-resistant, will collapse over time under the weight of the product and from moisture, and the stove will begin to roll on its side.

The foundation is poured under the entire furnace, that is, on both sides of the wall, dividing the washing and steam compartment. The concrete base must be level with the finished floor. In this case, the heat will dissipate over the entire base of the room.

The masonry of the part of the wall above the stove is made of heat-resistant red or yellow bricks. Refractory bricks are optional. Cladding brick is not suitable for masonry due to its low temperature resistance.

It is more expedient to entrust the installation of the chimney to specialists in order to avoid damage and incorrect slopes.

After installing the product, it is necessary to make the first firebox in order to check the operation of the chimney, the degree of heating of the adjacent wooden structures, as well as for the final hardening of the enamel. At the first fire, a pungent smell may appear, but it will quickly disappear.

Exploitation

Kindling is done with dried wood. For this, it is better to use deciduous trees. It is undesirable to use coniferous raw materials, since resinous fumes from coniferous wood will quickly clog the chimney.

When removing ash, it is necessary to leave at least a few millimeters. - this will serve as a thermal layer between the concrete base and the burning wood.

The chimney diameter is large enough, therefore, with proper operation, cleaning will not be required more often than once every three years.

The cleaning hatch is located at the rear of the oven. If you plan to completely brick the stove, you need to plan ahead for access to the cleaning hatch.

When firing up, the tank must be filled with water. After using the bath in the winter months, the water remaining in the tank must be completely drained, since at low temperatures, solidifying water can break the metal.
