  • Quality options are not subject to deformation.
  • Beautiful swings made of Brazil walnut are very popular. Such specimens can boast not only strength and durability, but also resistance to temperature extremes.
  • The swing, made in the form of a hammock, has an attractive appearance.

Thanks to their design, these structures are able to decorate the landscape design or the interior of the home.

disadvantages

Despite the fact that these types of swings have many positive qualities, they also have certain disadvantages.

  • Mesh and woven options are not highly reliable, as, for example, wooden models. These structures can be accidentally torn. In addition, over time, they stretch and lose their former elasticity.
  • The same woven and mesh pieces are not designed for heavy loads. Under their influence, such products may become unusable.
  • Products made from Mexican walnut, rattan and other types of wood are expensive. Of course, their performance more than justifies the price, however, not every buyer can afford them.
  • Products made of expensive rattan can dry out if they are in conditions of sharp temperature changes, so they can hardly be called practical.
  • If the hammock is made of vines, then it must be borne in mind that over time it can begin to make squeaky sounds, especially if it is made of poor quality material.
  • Vines that have not been pretreated are susceptible to rapid cracking and breakage. Such a swing will not last long.
  • Not all types of hammock swings are durable. Some models are too vulnerable to last long enough.

Varieties

As mentioned earlier, there are many variations of hammock swings. Such products differ from each other not only in their structure, but also in the materials of manufacture. Let us consider in detail what types of such structures are produced by modern manufacturers.

Suspended

These types of hammocks are the most popular. They are purchased by many owners of private houses and summer cottages. These models are easily hung between the trees on the site. Special posts can also be used as fastening supports. It is very important to choose the most reliable and durable support parts that can withstand the weight of an adult without any problems. A measured swaying on such a hammock will have a positive effect on the user's nervous system. In these conditions, a person is guaranteed a good rest.

Hanging hammocks are found in many retail outlets today. They are inexpensive and are represented by a huge assortment.

Such products are easily hung using tensioning parts.

Wireframe

Hammocks with frames are no less popular. Such models are a kind of mobile furniture that can be placed anywhere on the site. Often, frame models are transported in cars, installed at home or used as full-fledged furniture structures. Frame hammocks can be selected in any color scheme.

Frame models are mounted very easily and quickly. That is why they are very often purchased for arranging a summer cottage. It is permissible to take such products with you on a fishing trip or on a trip with a good company. If you could not find a suitable option in the store, then you can order it according to your own wishes. Of course, such a hammock will most likely cost more, but as a result you will get the optimal model that will suit you in all respects.

Armchair

Home gardens today are very often complemented by touching hammocks in the form of chairs. These types of structures belong to the hinged category, however, they have one important difference from the standard options - they have an unusual lounger shape. Today in stores you can find a huge variety of hanging chairs with seats of various modifications.

These designs also feature very comfortable plump pillows and beautiful awnings. A versatile product is the most convenient and comfortable for a calm and pleasant stay. In such conditions, you can read different literature or knit while on the cozy veranda. If you plan to work while sitting in such a hammock chair, then you can easily fit in it along with a laptop. Based on the specific selected design, in this chair you can either sit or lie down - the choice is only up to the consumer.

For kids

A swing hammock can also be selected for children. Such varieties differ little from standard adult designs, however, most manufacturers assign them to a separate group. Usually, such products have modest dimensions, colorful design, as well as the most convenient and absolutely safe design. As a rule, children's swing hammocks are made from natural and environmentally friendly materials, which cannot harm the health of young users.

Very often, children's hammocks are equipped with such safe parts as side boards.

As for the bottom of such structures, it should be borne in mind that it is as ergonomic as possible, so it will always be comfortable for a child to sit in such models. In addition, such a structure will not harm the health of the child. Basically, these hammocks are designed for a load of about 40 kg. Most products have additional rollover protection. These hammocks are installed both in summer cottages and inside different dwellings.

Selection and preparation of materials

Their comfortable and operational characteristics depend on the quality of the materials used in the manufacture of hammock swings.

According to this parameter, the following types of such structures are distinguished:

  • mesh;
  • woven;
  • wicker.

Mesh hammocks are cheap, but today their popularity is fading away, as they are not the most durable and durable. The mesh begins to sag over time, and also strongly dig into the skin, even if you do not lie on it for very long.

Braided options are more reliable. They are made from the following materials.

  • Rattan. These are aesthetic and durable pieces that are not afraid of the sun and heavy loads. However, such products can dry out with a sudden change in temperature. You can turn to faux rattan options. They are devoid of these disadvantages, but they are cheap.
  • Brazilian nut. This is an expensive exotic. Such material is very strong, not afraid of temperature extremes and bad climatic conditions. However, these swing models are quite expensive.
  • Vine. Hammocks are made of such material, which are planned to be placed in an apartment or under a reliable canopy. Light and beautiful designs are obtained from the vine.

If we are talking about woven hammocks, then materials such as:

  • cotton;
  • sackcloth;
  • linen;
  • parachute silk;
  • nylon;
  • polyester.

        For self-manufacture of a swing such as a hammock, you can use a variety of materials. However, they always need to be properly prepared for all the required work. Let's take a look at this procedure using a simple woven model as an example.

        Take a piece of cloth measuring 150x300 mm. Fold in the edges along the length, and then sew on the typewriter. If you do not want the suspended structure to be soft, then there should be two such trims. They are placed on top of each other, and then stitched along the length, leaving a hole about a meter.

        Through the hole left, you can put a soft carpet or a special water-repellent oilcloth inside.

        How to do it yourself?

        The swing can be completely made by yourself. For example, for this you can weave a suitable mesh model or construct a version out of wood (if you have the appropriate skills). However, the simplest thing is to create a hammock from woven fabric.

        As we discussed earlier, the material for such work must be carefully prepared. It must be remembered that the edges of the canvas need to be tucked up by about 5 cm, and also stitched. Only after this can we say that the material is completely ready for subsequent procedures.

        In the holes formed during the preparation process, it is necessary to stretch the most durable and reliable linen cord. It is wrapped several times, and then strong knots are made. Then it will be possible to attach the hammock to the tree. To this end, you will need to tie a lace with a rope.

        Of course, there are other mounting options. For example, in the left tunnels, you can install slats with pre-drilled holes at the ends. The ropes are passed through the holes and then tied. If there are special plugs at the end of the rails, then initially you will not need to drill anything, since the rope will not slide off.

        Many users complement such designs with eyelets on the side parts. For this, holes are made at a distance of about 10 cm. Their diameter should match the diameter of the eyelets. Next, the rings themselves are installed with a hammer with a bearing. Slings are passed through them. It is permissible to pass each sling through a hole in a wooden plank. After that, the laces are tied with a rope or special rings.

        Beautiful examples

        You can decorate the garden plot with a round hanging swing with a hoop-type frame. Such structures can be made of wicker material or dense fabric.The seats in these designs can be decorated with decorative colored pillows, which will make the swing more vivid and original. Mesh options can be supplemented with a fringe at the bottom.

        A round wicker hammock can be made of threads of different colors, effectively combined with each other. Such production will look harmoniously complete with snow-white retaining laces.

        Using a similar model, you can decorate a summer cottage, garden plot or veranda, making the atmosphere brighter and more lively.

        A striped hammock that combines red and blue tones will be a spectacular addition to your summer cottage or garden. These colors will resonate amazingly with fluffy green grass and tall trees.
