Superprize is a tomato hybrid that bears fruit equally well and abundantly indoors and in beds without greenhouses. It produces fruits with excellent marketability, transportable and well calibrated. This tomato was highly appreciated not only by ordinary summer residents, but also by farmers who grow tomatoes for sale.

Breeding history

The hybrid was bred by the breeder Mazina L.A. It was registered in 2007.

Description of the variety

The determinant hybrid forms powerful stocky bushes 50-70 cm high. The plant foliage is average. The tops are green, of normal size, with slight surface corrugation. The inflorescences are simple, they begin to form from the area under 5-6 leaves.

The hybrid is highly knotty. Up to 6 clusters with fruits are formed on the main stem. The ability to form stepchildren is below average.

The main qualities of the fruit

The hybrid produces tomatoes of a flat-round shape, ribbed, with a light green skin at an early stage of ripeness, with a red one when fully ripe. The average weight is 74-113 g, the maximum is up to 250 g. The skin is glossy, with shine, underneath is the pulp of medium density.

Taste characteristics

The tomatoes are pleasant, sweet, with slight tints of sourness. A salad hybrid, can be used in processing to obtain sauces and other products.

Ripening and fruiting

This is an early hybrid with an average ripening period of 85-88 days. The tomato gives the harvest equally well and amicably

Yield

Fruiting is abundant, the tomato bears fruit in an amount of up to 6 kg from 1 bush. In the Urals, 145-246 c / ha are harvested, and in Western Siberia up to 566-794 c / ha.

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground

It is worth planning sowing seeds 50-55 days before the transfer of plants to a permanent place.

Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.

Landing scheme

Seedlings are placed in a garden bed or in a greenhouse according to a 40 × 70 cm scheme.

Planting a tomato is a very important and painstaking business. In order to get a good harvest of tomatoes, you need to competently approach the issue of planting. When planting a tomato in the ground, it is necessary to take into account many factors - correctly determine the timing, prepare the soil, correctly calculate the distance between plants, take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Growing and caring

Low-growing tomatoes do not require pinching. They are grown in seedlings, sowing seeds in special containers with a peat-soil mixture to a depth of about 15 mm. At the stage of emergence, it is necessary to provide the tomatoes with a film cover, as well as the ambient temperature at +21 degrees. After germination, the protection is removed, the container is transferred to a well-lit place, if necessary, special lamps are used.

It is best to form bushes in 1 stem. Superprize tomatoes do not need intensive care. Moderate watering every 5 days will be enough for them - the schedule is violated only during prolonged periods of extreme heat. At the same time, the soil is loosened, weeded, getting rid of weeds. It is necessary to fertilize plants for the entire growing season no more than 4 times, with a full complex composition.

Watering tomatoes is not difficult. After planting, the plant is watered at such intervals that the soil remains moist. In dry weather, when it does not rain for a long time, watering can be carried out every day, but usually the beds with tomatoes are irrigated 2-3 times a week.
The methods of tying tomato bushes can vary significantly, depending on the availability of available material, the method of fixation, and also the variety. In general, it is recommended to adhere to the following scheme: first, the central stems are grabbed, and then, as the fruits ripen, the lateral branches.
One of the important conditions for tomato agricultural technology is the correct formation of the bush. The formation of tomato bushes means performing the following steps: pinching, pinching, trimming the leaves, normalizing the ovaries.

A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.

It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.

Disease and pest resistance

The Superprize hybrid is resistant to most common diseases. He is not afraid of infection with TMV, bacterial infections, top rot. The fruits are not prone to cracking.

Treatment and prevention of diseases and pests
When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, diseases often occur due to a violation of the temperature regime and excessive humidity. The most common diseases are fungal (late blight, cladosporium, rot).
The fight against diseases and pests of tomatoes in open areas can be quite difficult. This is because nightshades are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and insect pests.

Resistant to adverse weather conditions

Tomato bushes are drought-resistant and heat-resistant, they also tolerate the effects of low air temperatures well. Adaptation to difficult weather conditions is excellent.

Growing regions

The hybrid is zoned for the West Siberian, Far Eastern and Ural regions. In harsher conditions, a cover landing is recommended.

Review overview

Summer residents highly appreciate the prospects of the Superprize tomato as very high. This hybrid fully covers the needs of a medium-sized family in obtaining ripe and tasty tomatoes for fresh consumption or conservation. It is praised for its good adaptation to open field conditions even in the coldest regions, early recoil of fruits - they have time to ripen on the branches, but they can also be removed green. It is indicated that in the greenhouse the determinant stretches much more - for many vegetable growers, the bushes grew more than 1 m. Summer residents also like the fact that the bushes are practically not affected by diseases and pests.

The hybrid is versatile, but it has certain drawbacks. Vegetable growers mention that plants are quite whimsical at the stage of growing seedlings, they need a certain temperature regime. It is worth considering that tomatoes still need a fairly plentiful supply. If there are not enough vitamins and minerals in the soil, the fruits will lose most of their taste.
