Tomato is one of the most widespread vegetable crops in Russia. When choosing a variety, be sure to pay attention to the characteristics of the fruits and their taste. For preparations for the winter, the fruits of the Liang tomato are perfect. They can also be enjoyed fresh during the fruiting season.

Description of the variety

The bred variety received a determinant type of growth. The bushes are short and grow up to 35-40 centimeters in height. Fruit crops can be grown in plastic greenhouses or in open areas. The purpose is universal. Low and compact bushes will not take up much space, so you can arrange a garden bed even on a small plot of land.

The branchiness of the culture is average. The green mass is very dense and lush. Leaves are medium in size, dark green in color. The form is ordinary. The foliage is slightly corrugated.

At least 5 brushes grow on one bush, on each of which no more than 5 vegetables are formed. The first brush appears above 5 or 6 leaves, and the rest are placed every 1-2 leaves.

The main qualities of the fruit

Fully ripe tomatoes change color from green to rich red. Sometimes there are bright pink tomatoes. The color is uniform. Fruits of a round shape gain in weight 65-83 g. The dense pulp is covered with a smooth and glossy skin. The type of inflorescence is simple. The percentage of dry matter is from 4.3 to 5. No more than three nests are formed inside each fruit.

The crop tolerates transportation without any problems. After picking vegetables, they are stored for about two months without losing their appearance, taste and smell.

Taste characteristics

The taste of ripe tomatoes is sweetish with a pleasant aftertaste. Most of the Russian gardeners have made a choice in favor of this variety due to its high taste. The aroma is pleasant and appetizing.

Ripening and fruiting

Fruits ripen early. In the central Russian regions, the ripening period ranges from 94 to 110 days, and in the East Siberian region this period increases to 115-123 days. The crop is harvested from July 20 to August 30.

Yield

The Liang variety is considered a high-yielding variety. The amount of the crop depends on the region of cultivation. The maximum yield is from 2 to 4 kilograms (experienced gardeners manage to collect up to 7 kilograms of fruit) per square meter of the site. For commercial cultivation, up to 713 centners are harvested per hectare of plantation. Within the boundaries of the Central region, from 267 to 320 centners / ha are obtained, and in the East Siberian region, the yield grows to 456 centners per hectare of plantations.

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground

Around the beginning of April, seeds are sown to obtain seedlings. Young bushes are transferred to the ground when they are 30 to 35 days old. As a rule, the timing of planting tomatoes in the ground falls at the end of spring - early summer. You can't do the work too early. Otherwise, the seedlings will be ready to be transplanted to a permanent growing site before the onset of suitable weather conditions.

When germinating seedlings, experienced gardeners are advised to select the seed by size. All grains should be approximately the same. To prevent harmful insects or infections from damaging the seedlings, the seeds are treated. The work is carried out when the material collected with your own hands is used.The grains are soaked in a thick solution of potassium permanganate (the color of the composition should be dark and saturated).

First, the grains are germinated in small boxes, after which a pick is carried out. The maximum sowing depth is 2 centimeters, the gap is 3 centimeters. To create a thermal effect, shelters in the form of glass or film are used. After the container is transferred to a warm place. After 5-6 days, the first shoots hatch. After their appearance, the temperature is reduced to 15-16 degrees, otherwise the bushes will begin to stretch strongly.

Seedlings do not need special care. Sometimes it is enough to moisten the soil and provide the required amount of light. Sometimes mineral fertilizers are used if the seeds are germinated in depleted soil.

For 7 days after transplantation, the container is taken out to the site where the laying of the vegetable plantation will be carried out. You can also take the containers out to the balcony so that they get used to the fresh air and quickly adapt to new weather conditions. The fact that the seedlings are ready for transplanting is indicated by a strong stem and a growth of at least 20 centimeters.

Note: in areas with a warm weather climate, seeds can be planted directly into the ground, but this method is rarely used. In order to get a high-quality and stable harvest, it is recommended to first grow seedlings and then transplant them into a greenhouse or into open ground.

Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.

Landing scheme

The optimal landing pattern is 40x50 centimeters. On one square meter of the site, there are from 4 to 5 bushes.

Planting a tomato is a very important and painstaking business. In order to get a good harvest of tomatoes, you need to competently approach the issue of planting. When planting a tomato in the ground, it is necessary to take into account many factors - correctly determine the timing, prepare the soil, correctly calculate the distance between plants, take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Growing and care

Fruiting is affected by the conditions in which the fruit crop is grown. The quality of the soil is of great importance. The land for planting Liang bushes should not be heavy.

The soil must have the following characteristics:

  • moisture permeability;
  • ease;
  • looseness.

The place for laying the future plantation should be well lit by the sun. You cannot grow tomatoes in beds that are not protected from cold winds and drafts.

So that a coarse dry crust does not appear on the surface of the soil, and the root system receives a sufficient amount of oxygen, loosening is periodically carried out. During processing, the soil is fed.

One square meter is used:

  • humus - one bucket;
  • ash - about 100 grams;
  • superphosphate - up to 50 grams.

The first portion of fertilizers is used 2-3 weeks after the transfer of seedlings to a permanent growing site. When applying dressings, organic and mineral compositions are alternated, observing the same terms (after about 2-3 weeks).

During flowering, the variety reacts remarkably to foliar fertilization. To increase their effectiveness, the composition used can be modified by adding 1 gram of boric acid to it per bucket of nutrient mixture. When green tomatoes begin to ripen, nitrogen formulations are excluded from fertilizers. They opt for ash mixed with a small amount of superphosphate. Due to the strong foliage, the fruits may not ripen entirely, since the foliage blocks the path of the sun's rays. The thick green mass is thinned out.

Despite the small growth, the bushes need to be tied because of the fragile stems. Under the weight of the crop, especially with abundant fruiting, they can break.Any reliable support is suitable for tying up shoots. The garter is carried out twice a season. In order not to damage the shoots, use soft twine. Pegs with a height of no more than 0.5 meters are great. They are installed in the ground at the time of transplanting the bushes.

It is also recommended to periodically pinch. Getting rid of excess lateral shoots is carried out in order to achieve maximum yield. The bushes are formed into 2 stems - so the plants will develop in a comfortable environment.

It is not necessary to treat the Liang variety from pests and diseases. Thanks to their strong immunity, the bushes are not afraid of most common diseases.

Watering tomatoes is not difficult. After planting, the plant is watered at such intervals that the soil remains moist. In dry weather, when there is no rain for a long time, watering can be carried out every day, but usually the beds with tomatoes are irrigated 2-3 times a week.
The methods of tying tomato bushes can vary significantly, depending on the availability of available material, the method of fixation, and also the variety. In general, it is recommended to adhere to the following scheme: first, the central stems are grabbed, and then, as the fruits ripen, the lateral branches.
One of the important conditions for tomato agricultural technology is the correct formation of the bush. The formation of tomato bushes means performing the following steps: pinching, pinching, trimming the leaves, normalizing the ovaries.

A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.

It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.

Treatment and prevention of diseases and pests
When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, diseases often occur due to a violation of the temperature regime and excessive humidity. The most common diseases are fungal (late blight, cladosporium, rot).
The fight against diseases and pests of tomatoes in open areas can be quite difficult. This is because nightshades are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and insect pests.
