Tomato Chocolate bunch is a novelty from the Poisk agrofirm and Ogorodnik Center LLC, which was included in the State Register in 2020. This is a funny cherry tomato with shiny and very sweet cherry fruits.

Description of the variety

Subspecies indeterminate, vigorous, bush in suitable conditions reaches 2 meters. Leaves are medium in size, dark green, leafiness is medium. The type of inflorescence is intermediate. This means that the brush can branch out 1-2 times.

The main qualities of the fruit

Berries are small, cherry, elliptical, weighing 35-40 g. Collected in bunches of 15-20 tomatoes. There are hardly noticeable ribs. The color of unripe fruits is light green, with darker strokes and a spot at the stalk. As they ripen, the fruits darken, acquiring a rich chocolate-burgundy color by the stage of consumer ripeness. The skin is shiny. The fruits look like huge cherries. The pulp is red, slightly darker in the seed chambers. The chambers with sap are large, there are many seeds.

Taste characteristics

The fruit is sweet, like candy. The variety is salad. This means that the fruit will be good straight from the bush: whole, in sandwiches, snacks, when decorating dishes. Brown varieties are distinguished by a high content of anthocyanins, which have a healing effect. They soothe, prevent swelling, protect against free radicals, strengthen the immune system, act as antispasmodics and gently stimulate the outflow of bile. They are very useful for people during the period of rehabilitation after injuries, with chronic diseases, diabetes or obesity. May be contraindicated in people with allergies or gastrointestinal diseases.

Ripening and fruiting

The variety is early ripe, the fruits can be removed in 100-105 days.

Yield

The yield when grown in greenhouses is 6.2-9.4 kg per square meter of beds.

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground

The grains are sown in the 2nd half of March, and the seedlings themselves are planted in open ground at the end of the last month of summer. Sowing in February-early March is useless for early varieties; it will justify itself only if it is possible to provide the plants with illumination and plant them in a permanent place a little earlier.

Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.

Landing scheme

Between the rows they are kept 0.8 m each, between the holes - 0.6 m each.

Planting a tomato is a very important and painstaking business. In order to get a good harvest of tomatoes, you need to competently approach the issue of planting. When planting a tomato in the ground, it is necessary to take into account many factors - correctly determine the timing, prepare the soil, correctly calculate the distance between plants, take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Growing and care

The subspecies can be cultivated in all parts of the Russian Federation, except for the Far North. Requires normal Indet care. A garter, shaping and pinning will be needed. It is better to form a variety in 2 stems. If you want to get larger fruits, it is recommended to grow a 1-stem bush.

All stepchildren cut off with a sharp movement to the side. If you pull it down, you can rip off a piece of the skin from the stem, and any damage is a path to infections. After cutting off the stepson, a stump of 1-2 cm should remain. If you do not leave stumps, new shoots will appear in the same place faster.

After the formation of the first ovary, all the leaves are cut off under it, the trunk should breathe freely. In addition, the lower leaves are often damaged, turn yellow, they are not needed. A little later, the crown is also thinned out. The more sun the fruit gets, the richer the flavor will be. Without pity, they remove all unproductive leaves, thickening the crown, damaged, turned to the north.

Watering is needed with soft water at the root, regular and abundant. If watered incorrectly, the fruits may crack. If the summer is dry, watered at least 1-2 times every 2 days. Tomatoes do not like stagnant moisture, but if the soil was prepared well (the soil is loose enough), then moisture will evaporate in exactly the amount that is required per day. Between waterings, the soil moisture level should be no more than 60%.

The variety forms ovaries well, and for even higher yields, the ovaries are sprayed with a solution of boric acid. For 1 liter, 1 gram of powder is required. Spraying is carried out in the evening. In total, three procedures will need to be carried out: during the period of bud formation, during the flowering period and at the stage of the beginning of fruiting. A period of 10 days is maintained between treatments. Such spraying helps to prevent the falling of flowers in tomatoes.

The fruits may be more or less sweet. For an even sweeter taste, dressings containing potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc and boron are beneficial. The variety is unpretentious, resistant to diseases, but spraying or watering with "Fitosporin" will be useful.

Watering tomatoes is not difficult. After planting, the plant is watered at such intervals that the soil remains moist. In dry weather, when it does not rain for a long time, watering can be carried out every day, but usually the beds with tomatoes are irrigated 2-3 times a week.
The methods of tying tomato bushes can vary significantly, depending on the availability of available material, the method of fixation, and also the variety. In general, it is recommended to adhere to the following scheme: first, the central stems are grabbed, and then, as the fruits ripen, the lateral branches.
One of the important conditions for tomato agricultural technology is the correct formation of the bush. The formation of tomato bushes means performing the following steps: pinching, pinching, trimming the leaves, normalizing the ovaries.

A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.

It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.

Treatment and prevention of diseases and pests
When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, diseases often occur due to a violation of the temperature regime and excessive humidity. The most common diseases are fungal (late blight, cladosporium, rot).
The fight against diseases and pests of tomatoes in open areas can be quite difficult. This is because nightshades are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and insect pests.

Review overview

There are few reviews, but the variety attracts attention. Some gardeners even call it the best cherry, they are in no hurry to part with the variety, and this is despite the fact that a lot of new products appear every year. The variety attracts attention with its rich chocolate color, capacious sweet taste, early and plentiful yield. Compared to other brown early cherry trees, it stands out for its rich clusters: the first fruits are enough for everyone.
