Tomato Pink Kitty

The author's tomato variety Pink Kotya was included in the list of approved ones by the State Register in 2021. Bred by the entrepreneur V.I.Blokin-Mechtalin, the author of 73 varieties of cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes. The author's breeding direction is universal, suitable for cultivation in all regions of Russia, modern, interesting and strong varieties. The sibling of Pink Koti is the Kotya variety, which has already gained fame and was recognized as the best tomato on the territory of the Russian Federation in 2017.

Pink Kitty is an indeterminate hybrid, can reach a height of 2 meters, which is convenient for greenhouse cultivation. The bush is powerful, strong, with juicy foliage. The first inflorescences are laid above 6-7 leaves, then every 2 leaves.

Belongs to the class of cherry tomatoes - a variety of tomatoes with small fruits collected in a brush. Small-fruited tomatoes vary in shape, from perfectly round to elongated, and the weight may also vary slightly.

Kitty is the owner of orange-yellow fruits. The Pink Kitty is similar in shape to its brother. The same small oval-pointed tomatoes, only a rich pink color. One bunch can contain up to 12 neat egg-shaped tomatoes weighing 35-50 grams each. Unripe fruits are light green, without a dark spot at the stalk, mature tomatoes have a deep pink skin with marbled orange strokes. The length of the tomatoes is 6-8 cm, the maximum width is 3 cm, the length of the bunch is up to 25 cm. The shape of the tomatoes is pleasant, nicely rounded, the tip is sharp, but dull. The skin is shiny, bright. Ripe tomatoes are very decorative.

The taste is good, the sweetness is more pronounced than the acid. The tomatoes are juicy, fleshy, the pulp is well balanced in consistency: both tender and firm. The anterior wall of the fruit is thin; the chambers with the juice are quite well expressed. But, since this is a hybrid, it makes no sense to harvest your own seeds.

Suitable for salads, all types of canned food, very good in preparations where whole fruits are needed. Promising from a commercial point of view, the skin is elastic and thin, but dense, the tomatoes are easy to transport, they are easy to transport.

The variety is early maturing, the harvest can be removed in 105-110 days from the moment of sowing. Since this cherry tomato is not harvested unripe, you need to focus on a later harvest time than regular tomatoes. Fruit picking - from July to September, even with the earliest sowing of seeds. Harvested with brushes. Tomatoes of the Pink Kotya variety ripen quite amicably. Brushes are formed beautifully, without voids and thickening.

The yield of the variety is very high for a small-fruited tomato. In greenhouse conditions with verified agricultural technology from 1 sq. m remove 9.1 kg. Some seed producers indicate different figures - up to 17 kg per 1 sq. m.

Sowing for seedlings is carried out in early to mid-March, planting of seedlings in open ground - from mid-May to early June.

The variety is high, but since it is formed in 1-2 lashes, the planting is very dense. For 1 sq. m there are 3-4 plants. The distance between the bushes is 0.5 meters in either direction.

It is recommended to grow the variety in covered greenhouses. Cherry tomatoes are harvested mature from a bush, they are difficult to ripen, so growing outdoors in cold regions of the Russian Federation is not very profitable. Garter and bush shaping are required. The brushes are strong, withstand the weight of the fruit well, they do not need a garter.

Dislikes drafts and temperature changes. Watering is regular, at least 2 times a week, but with good drying of the soil between waterings. To increase yields, artificial pollination is recommended. Gently shake the bush or brushes, collect the pollen with a soft brush for painting and transfer to the desired pistils, blow the plants with a fan. Pollination is carried out early in the morning, from 8 to 10 am, 2 times a week.

To stimulate the formation of ovaries, use drugs "Gibberros", "Gibbor-M", "Tomaton", "Bud", "Blossom", "Universal ovary".

To prevent shedding of the ovaries, they are sprayed with a boric acid solution: 1 g of the drug per 1 liter of hot water. The solution is used after cooling.

The Pink Kotya variety is a novelty, there are few reviews. The Kotya variety, which is very similar to it, has managed to earn conflicting assessments. On average, the variety matches the description - beautiful, interesting and tasty. From critical remarks: there is little sweetness in the fruits, brushes with gaps - the tomato does not always tie the fruit, low yield, crushing of the fruit. It is noteworthy that all critical reviews come from gardeners who grow tomatoes in the middle lane, mainly in the Moscow region. Therefore, when buying seeds of Pink Coty, it makes sense to evaluate your own capabilities - whether it will be possible to provide tomatoes with even high temperatures, high-quality bush formation, hand pollination and feeding for a sweeter taste.
