More and more amateur gardeners began to grow tomatoes in their dachas or personal plots. For planting, they choose varieties that are unpretentious in agrotechnical care, which are adapted to the climatic characteristics of the region. One of these varieties is the Pink Lyana tomato.

Breeding history

The variety was bred by Russian breeders, NICSSA employees in Russia in 1996. The hybrid variety was developed specifically for outdoor cultivation and for film greenhouses. A fairly common Liang tomato was taken as a parent variety for the development of a hybrid. The bred new tomato variety took only positive qualities from its parent.

Description of the variety

Hybrid variety Rozovaya Lyana is a determinant undersized bush, up to 60 cm high. In conditions of good agrotechnical care, the stems reach a height of more than 70 cm. The bush is quite compact, with an abundance of leaves on the stems. The plant does not particularly need to remove stepchildren, but tying up will not be superfluous.

The leaves are small, the shape of the leaf does not differ from other varieties. The upper part of the bright green leaf plate is slightly pubescent.

Unlike the parent variety, Rozovaya Lyana belongs to early maturing varieties; in regions with a warm climate, the crop ripens super early.

The first simple inflorescence is above 5-6 leaves from the root system, further formation occurs after 1-2 leaves.

The main qualities of the fruit

Medium-sized fruits are round in shape. The mass of one tomato ranges from 70 to 80 g. From 5 to 7 tomatoes can grow on one full-fledged cluster.

The dense and juicy flesh is hidden under the smooth thin skin. During full maturity, the skin turns intense pink.

The seed chambers are not particularly pronounced, there are few seeds in them, and the fruit itself contains no more than 6 seed chambers.

Due to the dense pulp, the fruits are characterized by good keeping quality and excellent transportability.

Tomatoes of this variety are universal, as they are used both fresh and canned, as well as in the manufacture of tomato juices.

Taste characteristics

According to their taste, the fruits of the Rozovaya Lyana variety are rated by breeders at 4 points out of 5. The tomatoes are sweet on the palate. The fruits contain many vitamins, carotene, ascorbic acid and minerals. Dry matter about 6%, sugar - 6.5%.

Ripening and fruiting

The Rozovaya Lyana variety belongs to the early maturing varieties, the first harvest is harvested by gardeners within 82-85 days from the beginning of the growing season after the appearance of the first shoots. The long fruiting period lasts from early July to late August.

The advantage of this variety can be called a high yield of fruits with good commercial qualities, it fluctuates within 97%.

Yield

When grown in open ground, one bush can give up to 4-5 kg of bright and attractive fruits; in film greenhouses, a high-yielding variety can give up to 9-10 kg per 1 m2.

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground

The variety can be grown by seedlings and sowing in open ground. To do this, it is necessary to comply with the landing dates.

For growing seedlings, no specific dates for sowing seeds have been established, since everything depends on the region and the planned date of planting the plant in open ground. But experienced gardeners recommend sowing seeds for seedlings from March 20 to April 10. It is important to take into account that the optimal age of seedlings for planting in a permanent place of growth is 50-60 days. Seedlings are usually planted in the ground from May 15 to June 5. This is the most favorable period when the average daily temperature corresponds to the planting norms.

In the case of sowing in a place of constant growth, it is necessary to take into account the climatic and weather conditions of the growing region. It is important to remember that the ground must be well warmed up.

Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.

Landing scheme

The finished planting material is planted quite tightly, this is possible due to the fact that the bushes of the Pink Lyana variety are compact. The distance between the bushes should be at least 40 cm, the distance between the rows should be at least 50 cm.

Planting a tomato is a very important and painstaking business. In order to get a good harvest of tomatoes, you need to competently approach the issue of planting. When planting a tomato in the ground, it is necessary to take into account many factors - correctly determine the timing, prepare the soil, correctly calculate the distance between plants, take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Growing and caring

For healthy and strong seedlings, it is best to use specialized peat pots. This will help avoid picking the crop.

To obtain quick shoots, containers with seeds are placed in a well-lit, warm place, regularly maintaining the recommended air humidity. To maintain humidity, many gardeners cover crockery with crops with transparent film and glass. In this case, evaporation will not be as fast and the seeds will sprout quickly.

Future seedlings need to be fed a couple of times with fertilizers containing minerals.

A week before planting, the seedlings are hardened. To do this, pots of tomatoes are exposed to the air for about 3-4 hours a day.

After transplantation, the culture needs agrotechnical care. Certain rules must be followed for normal further growth and a good harvest.

Planted tomato bushes are watered once every three to four days. In this case, you need to be very careful and avoid waterlogging or drying out of the soil. Both can negatively affect the plant. To keep the necessary moisture in the soil longer, the root system is mulched. To do this, you can use dried grass or last year's straw.

After watering, every other day, the soil is carefully loosened, it is important to prevent damage to the roots.

Plant feeding must be carried out regularly. The first fertilization occurs 2-3 weeks after transplanting. Mullein solution is used as a top dressing.

The second feeding is carried out at the stage of inflorescence formation, the third - during the period of fruit growth.

Mullein solution, mineral fertilizers containing nitrogen, ash, humus and others are used as fertilizers.

The soil periodically needs to be freed from weeds, which take away the nutrients from the tomatoes that are necessary for the normal growth of the bush and the formation of fruits.

It is also important to remember about the correct neighborhood of plants.

Watering tomatoes is not difficult. After planting, the plant is watered at such intervals that the soil remains moist. In dry weather, when it does not rain for a long time, watering can be carried out every day, but usually the beds with tomatoes are irrigated 2-3 times a week.
The methods of tying tomato bushes can vary significantly, depending on the availability of available material, the method of fixation, and also the variety. In general, it is recommended to adhere to the following scheme: first, the central stems are grabbed, and then, as the fruits ripen, the lateral branches.
One of the important conditions for tomato agricultural technology is the correct formation of the bush. The formation of tomato bushes means performing the following steps: pinching, pinching, trimming the leaves, normalizing the ovaries.

A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.

It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.

Disease and pest resistance

The Rozovaya Lyana variety is highly resistant to many diseases that affect the Solanaceae family. High resistance to Alternaria and tobacco mosaic virus helps the plant to keep the fruit in a marketable condition.

Treatment and prevention of diseases and pests
When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, diseases often occur due to a violation of the temperature regime and excessive humidity. The most common diseases are fungal (late blight, cladosporium, rot).
The fight against diseases and pests of tomatoes in open areas can be quite difficult. This is because nightshades are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and insect pests.
