Pepper pink was bred in 2018, included in the State Register of Varieties of the Russian Federation, the patent belongs to the agrofirm "Aelita". There are also varieties in the series with the same shape, but with a different color: orange, red, striped.

Description of the variety

The bush is vigorous, indeterminate, 1.5-1.7 meters high. The foliage is long, dark green, the foliage is medium. The inflorescences are complex, the first is laid above 9-11 leaves, the subsequent ones - every 3 leaves. One brush contains 5-7 fruits.

The main qualities of the fruit

Fruits are elongated, cylindrical with a small "waist", narrow, resembling peppers in shape, weighing 80-120 g. There is a slight ribbing. Unripe fruits are light green with a darker spot at the stalk. The color of ripe fruits is deep pink. The skin is smooth, firm, pliable, very resistant to cracking. Fruits lie well, do not lose marketability within 3-4 weeks.

Taste characteristics

The taste is excellent. All pink tomatoes contain more dry matter than red ones, they are more pectin, vitamin C, and natural antioxidants: lycopene and selenium. It is recommended to include pink tomatoes in a children's or dietary menu. The taste of pink tomatoes is always softer, sweeter, without acid, with fruity notes. Perfect for fresh consumption: in salads, appetizers, desserts. Due to its dense skin, the fruit is well suited for stuffing. They look great in blanks as a whole, they are also used to prepare any other types of canned food from tomatoes: sauces, juices, pastes, ketchups, winter salads.

Ripening and fruiting

The variety is medium early, the first fruits are removed 90-100 days after germination.

Yield

Up to 7 kg from 1 sq. m.

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground

Seeds for seedlings are sown in mid-late March. At the age of 2 months, the seedlings are planted in a permanent place, from mid-May to June 7-10.

Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.

Landing scheme

In row spacings they are kept at 60-70 cm, between plants at 40-60 cm. Per 1 sq. m are planted in 2-3 plants.

Planting a tomato is a very important and painstaking business. In order to get a good harvest of tomatoes, you need to competently approach the issue of planting. When planting a tomato in the ground, it is necessary to take into account many factors - correctly determine the timing, prepare the soil, correctly calculate the distance between plants, take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Growing and care

Like any indeterminate variety, the plant requires the formation, garter, removal of stepsons. Form into 1-2 stems. Not only the stems are tied up, but also the brushes during the ripening period - they can be heavy.

The taste and yield of tomatoes depends not only on the variety, but also on the care.

  1. Abundant high-quality irrigation, more active in the hot season. At the same time, tomatoes do not like changing the regime and standing water. The soil moisture level should be approximately always at the same level. To do this, in extreme heat, watering is divided into 2 times, morning and evening, and the portion is left the same. Water when the soil dries up to 2.5 cm. Mulch is very useful. The aisles are sprinkled with sawdust or laid out with straw.

  2. Fertile soil. It is prepared even at the stage of pre-planting soil preparation. For 1 running meter, add a bucket of humus, half a bucket of sand, a glass of sifted ash and 2 tbsp. l. superphosphate. The content of the components may vary depending on the source data of the site. Strongly acidic soils are deoxidized by adding dolomite flour. It also helps to prevent top rot infestation on tomatoes.

  3. Spraying with boric acid. 1 g of powder is dissolved in 1 liter of water, buds, flowers and leaves are sprayed with the composition three times: during the formation of ovaries, during flowering, during the formation of the crop.

  4. During the period of active growth, plants are sprayed with calcium nitrate. During the season, 1-3 top dressing is performed: 10-20 g of the drug is dissolved in 1 liter of water, the leaves are sprayed until completely wetted. Such spraying acts as a feeding and disease prevention at the same time.

According to reviews, the variety perfectly sets fruits, even in extreme heat, the flowers do not fall off, and there are no gaps in the brushes. During the period of ovary formation, shaking the brushes or brushing will be helpful, especially if the weather is too cool or too hot.

As a prophylaxis of diseases, spraying with "Fitosporin" and other biofungicides will be required. The drug is a concentrate of hay bacillus. The mechanism of action is completely safe for humans. In the course of its vital activity, the hay bacillus suppresses the reproduction of pathogens of bacterial and fungal diseases. Dissolve 5 g of "Fitosporin" in 10 l of water, spraying is carried out on the sheet every 14 days.

Watering tomatoes is not difficult. After planting, the plant is watered at such intervals that the soil remains moist. In dry weather, when there is no rain for a long time, watering can be carried out every day, but usually the beds with tomatoes are irrigated 2-3 times a week.
The methods of tying tomato bushes can vary significantly, depending on the availability of available material, the method of fixation, and also the variety. In general, it is recommended to adhere to the following scheme: first, the central stems are grabbed, and then, as the fruits ripen, the lateral branches.
One of the important conditions for tomato agricultural technology is the correct formation of the bush. The formation of tomato bushes means performing the following steps: pinching, pinching, trimming the leaves, normalizing the ovaries.

A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.

It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.

Treatment and prevention of diseases and pests
When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, diseases often occur due to a violation of the temperature regime and excessive humidity. The most common diseases are fungal (late blight, cladosporium, rot).
The fight against diseases and pests of tomatoes in open areas can be quite difficult. This is because nightshades are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and insect pests.

Review overview

The reviews are generally positive. An excellent variety with very tasty fruits that are easy to process. The fruits lie for a long time, fit well into the jar, do not burst. The plant is spectacular during the harvest season, the bunches of fruits are plentiful, heavy. If formed into 2 trunks, and not into one, the fruits will be slightly smaller. It tolerates heat well. Pepper pink is a cultivar, not a hybrid, so the seeds can be harvested next year.

Regarding disease resistance, the reviews are contradictory: either it shows an increased resistance to late blight compared to other varieties, then it is more affected by apical rot than others. There are critical reviews about the shape, it does not correspond to the declared one, rather barrel-shaped; to the taste - there are tomatoes and tastier. But on average, shape, flavor and yield are impressive. Those who have tried growing Pepper Pink are planning to plant it again.
