Tried and tested for quite some time, tomatoes, which are used successfully, are one of the most demanded market segments. But it also has its own favorites. This is exactly the Kubyshka, the properties of which deserve maximum attention.

Breeding history

This tomato was created by a group of SibNIIRS breeders. The leading experts on the project were Gubko, Zalivakina, Orlova, Salmina and Chernovolova. To obtain the variety, a number of samples from the collection of VIR KT-278 (Hungary) and Solnechny (Russia) were hybridized with each other. Then the result was carefully selected. The official state registration of the variety was completed in 2008.

Description of the variety

The egg capsule is one of the determinant tomatoes. The plant is suitable both for open ground and for growing in a film greenhouse. The bush grows up to 34 cm. Its dark green foliage is medium in size. Since this is a variety, not a hybrid, it is quite possible to take seeds for planting directly from the fruit.

The main qualities of the fruit

The share of marketable berries in the total harvest reaches 82%. Unripe berries are light green in color. As they develop further, they will turn red. The fruits of the capsule are medium in size and in most cases weigh 50 g. They are typically shaped like an egg. The berries will develop on articulated stalks.

Taste characteristics

The pulp of this variety has a pleasant firmness. The smooth skin has practically no effect on the taste of the fruit. The meatiness of such tomatoes is undeniable.

Ripening and fruiting

The egg capsule is a common medium early tomato. Under normal conditions, it will be possible to remove the first fruits 100 days after the formation of the first green shoots. But sometimes, due to unfavorable weather conditions, this happens later.

Yield

It is stated that 2 kg of berries per 1 sq. m. Let it be quite a bit, but stable.

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground

It is necessary to plant seeds in seedling containers 55-60 days before the expected time of transfer to open ground or to a greenhouse. The specific period is determined individually in each region.

Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.

Landing scheme

Bushes are often arranged according to the 700x300 mm system. But sometimes the 700x400 mm approach is also used. The choice between them is determined individually. It is necessary to plant no more than 6 plants per 1 m2.

Planting a tomato is a very important and painstaking business. In order to get a good harvest of tomatoes, you need to competently approach the issue of planting. When planting a tomato in the ground, it is necessary to take into account many factors - correctly determine the timing, prepare the soil, correctly calculate the distance between plants, take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Growing and care

The plant must be tied to supports. You will have to remove stepchildren before the first brush. Seedlings should be dived in the phase of 1-2 true leaves. Seedling bushes need to be fed 2 or 3 times with complex fertilizer. Hardening begins when 7-10 days remain before planting in open ground.

The bushes should be watered at least once every 7 days. Such irrigation is sufficient under normal conditions of a cold region. In extreme heat and drought, the bushes are watered more actively. In any case, the tomato needs to be loosened and weeded. Top dressing is applied 5-6 times in 1 growing season.

The garter is usually done at the last stage of berry development. There is no need to pinch the main shoot. If you leave 2 or 3 stepsons, you can get an additional crop. True, this will greatly complicate leaving. Protection from the black leg is provided by the use of a pink solution of potassium permanganate for irrigation (its use alternates with conventional watering).

Watering tomatoes is not difficult. After planting, the plant is watered at such intervals that the soil remains moist. In dry weather, when there is no rain for a long time, watering can be carried out every day, but usually the beds with tomatoes are irrigated 2-3 times a week.
The methods of tying tomato bushes can vary significantly, depending on the availability of available material, the method of fixation, and also the variety. In general, it is recommended to adhere to the following scheme: first, the central stems are grabbed, and then, as the fruits ripen, the lateral branches.
One of the important conditions for tomato agricultural technology is the correct formation of the bush. The formation of tomato bushes means performing the following steps: pinching, pinching, trimming the leaves, normalizing the ovaries.

A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.

It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.

Disease and pest resistance

The official description insists on high resistance to top fruit rot. And also it should be noted that the egg capsule firmly resists other diseases and adverse weather factors. However, as always, it is necessary to help the plants in order to get the optimal result.

Treatment and prevention of diseases and pests
When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, diseases often occur due to a violation of the temperature regime and excessive humidity. The most common diseases are fungal (late blight, cladosporium, rot).
The fight against diseases and pests of tomatoes in open areas can be quite difficult. This is because nightshades are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and insect pests.
