Tomato variety Red Scatter is suitable for year-round cultivation. Due to its special characteristics, such as low growth and an abundant number of fruits, it attracted the attention of Russian summer residents. Before cultivating this vegetable crop, it is imperative that you familiarize yourself with its other features.

Description of the variety

The determinant variety can be cultivated under the following conditions:

  • indoor ground (film greenhouses);
  • open areas;
  • balconies, loggias and window sills.

Also, bushes are often used for decorative landscaping of the territory.

Low-growing bushes grow up to a maximum of 50 centimeters. Plants are compact and will not take up much space on the site. They have a standard structure type. The leaves are small and bright green. The variety got its name due to its special characteristics. During fruiting, the shoots are covered with a large number of clusters with small and bright tomatoes (from 6 to 8 pieces). In greenhouses and greenhouses, plants are planted between tall plants. The inflorescences of tomatoes are simple.

The colorful duo of lush greenery and vibrant fruit gives the plants high decorative qualities. This feature was noted both by the manufacturer himself and by gardeners who are personally familiar with the Krasnaya Scatter variety.

The main qualities of the fruit

Unripe vegetables do not have a stain at the place where the stalk is attached. The color of the fruit will be light green. Ripe tomatoes take on a deep red color. Vegetables are very small in size. In weight, they gain from 7 to 10 grams. The shape of the berries is round. The skin is even, thin and smooth, the flesh is loose.

The fruits are most often used for salads or fresh consumption. They are also suitable for hot dishes and preparations for the winter.

Taste characteristics

Ripe tomatoes have a standard tomato flavor with a harmonious balance of sweetness and acidity.

Ripening and fruiting

The variety belongs to the mid-season varieties. The ripening period is from 105 to 110 days, and the period for harvesting vegetables falls in July-August.

Yield

Despite the small size of the bushes, the yield of this variety is considered quite high. 2.2 kilograms of vegetables are obtained from a square meter of land.

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground

Sowing seeds for seedlings is performed in the second week of March. For open ground, the dates are shifted to the second half of the month. The seedlings are transferred to greenhouses in the first half of May. If the culture will be grown in the open field, then the dates fall on the first summer days. When cultivating seedlings on loggias or balconies, pots with a volume of at least 4 liters are used. In this case, the time frame for germination covers the period from February 25 to March 5.

The Red Scatter seed can be grown in large boxes or immediately in separate containers. Both plastic cups and peat pots are great. Some gardeners use peat tablets. When choosing the second option, picking is not carried out, which saves time.

Also, before sowing, seeds are disinfected so that young plants become resistant to diseases and infections. To do this, they are dipped in a weak solution of potassium permanganate.The drug "Fitosporin" or aloe juice also demonstrates high efficiency. After this procedure, the inoculum is processed again, but this time using a growth stimulator.

To get strong and healthy seedlings, the following conditions must be met:

  • the recommended temperature regime is at least 25 degrees Celsius;
  • fertilize seedlings 1-2 times;
  • after germination, the temperature is lowered to 18-22 degrees Celsius (high temperature harms young shoots, they weaken and stretch);
  • seedlings need twelve hour daylight hours.

The seedlings are transferred to a permanent growing place at the age of 50-60 days.

Tomato prefers soil with neutral acidity (6.5 pH). Also, the soil should be nutritious and loose.

Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener will be able to harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.

Landing scheme

The optimal planting pattern is 50x70 centimeters.

Planting a tomato is a very important and painstaking business. In order to get a good harvest of tomatoes, you need to competently approach the issue of planting. When planting a tomato in the ground, it is necessary to take into account many factors - correctly determine the timing, prepare the soil, correctly calculate the distance between plants, take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Growing and care

The vegetable plantation is irrigated in the evening or during the daytime (in cloudy weather). Otherwise, wet leaves can suffer from sunburn. It is recommended to pour water under the root so that it does not get onto the rest of the plant. For irrigation, use warm and settled water (temperature - 22 degrees Celsius). Irrigation frequency is about once a week.

Compact plants do not need pinching and garter. But the soil around the bushes needs to be loosened regularly. The beds are covered with mulch to retain moisture.

Fertilize tomatoes according to the following scheme.

  1. The first portion of vitamins and minerals is applied 10-14 days after transplanting to a new location. Organic or nitrogen fertilizers are used. Organic matter is diluted in water. A liter of manure is dissolved in a bucket of water. For one bush, use 0.5 liters of the resulting solution.
  2. Mineral compounds are poured in at the start of flowering.
  3. At the beginning of the ripening of vegetables, mineral dressings are reintroduced.
Watering tomatoes is not difficult. After planting, the plant is watered at such intervals that the soil remains moist. In dry weather, when there is no rain for a long time, watering can be carried out every day, but usually the beds with tomatoes are irrigated 2-3 times a week.
The methods of tying tomato bushes can vary significantly, depending on the availability of available material, the method of fixation, and also the variety. In general, it is recommended to adhere to the following scheme: first, the central stems are grabbed, and then, as the fruits ripen, the lateral branches.
One of the important conditions for tomato agricultural technology is the correct formation of the bush. The formation of tomato bushes means performing the following steps: pinching, pinching, trimming the leaves, normalizing the ovaries.

A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.

It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.

Treatment and prevention of diseases and pests
When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, diseases often occur due to a violation of the temperature regime and excessive humidity. The most common diseases are fungal (late blight, cladosporium, rot).
The fight against diseases and pests of tomatoes in open areas can be quite difficult. This is because nightshades are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and insect pests.
