The Tsar's large and very aromatic tomatoes differ not only in size and taste, but also in high keeping rates after removal from the bush. They also look interesting and bear a lot of fruit.

Breeding history

The authors of the Sovereign hybrid were domestic experts V.V. Ognev, S.V. Maksimov, N.N.Klimenko, A.N. Kostenko, V.V. Sergeev. The originator of the culture is Agrofirma Poisk LLC. Included in the State Register for the Russian Federation in 2010 for growing in greenhouses without heating on private plots.

Description of the variety

Hybrid Sovereign is distinguished by a determinant type of development, which is possible both in film greenhouses, on and on open land. The height of the plant does not exceed 70-80 cm. The foliage is medium in size, painted in a dark green tone. A simple inflorescence develops on a medium-sized bush. The advantages of the variety:

  • consistently high yields;
  • equally aligned fruits;
  • high transportability.

The main qualities of the fruit

The fruits of the Sovereign hybrid are characterized as large, although their weight cannot be called a record, only 150-180 grams. But the shape is interesting: the tomatoes are round, on the top there is a characteristic "nose". Tomatoes in an unripe state are light green in color, the color of the ripe fruit is red. Moreover, it is smooth, dense, with 4, 5 or 6 cavities.

Taste characteristics

According to reviews, the taste of tomatoes is good, so many people like it. The purpose of the fruits is salad, but at the same time, tomatoes are ideal in size for canning.

Ripening and fruiting

The described hybrid is considered to be early maturing. Only 95-100 days pass from the planting of the seeds to the ripening of the fruits. Fruit picking can be carried out from mid-July to the second decade of August.

Yield

Official sources mention the indicator of marketable yield at the level of 16 kg / sq. m. Thus, the Emperor is considered a high-yielding hybrid.

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground

To plant tomato seeds the Emperor, you must first purchase them. Since this is a hybrid, you will not be able to use seeds from your garden, they will not have all varietal characteristics.

Sowing is carried out after March 20 and before April 1. Seedlings are planted in the ground from 10 to 20 May.

Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.

Landing scheme

It is very important to adhere to a certain planting density when planting in a permanent place. Experts recommend placing an average of no more than 2.8-3.5 bush on one square meter of the plantation.The optimal planting pattern is 70x60 centimeters.

Planting a tomato is a very important and painstaking business. In order to get a good harvest of tomatoes, you need to competently approach the issue of planting. When planting a tomato in the ground, it is necessary to take into account many factors - correctly determine the timing, prepare the soil, correctly calculate the distance between plants, take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Growing and care

The sovereign tomato hybrid is recommended to be planted in sandy loam or loamy soil, which has a high content of nutrients, including humus. This is necessary to achieve the best yield performance.

It is very important to keep the relative humidity under control when growing in a greenhouse. In the first weeks, it should be at the level of 60-65%, during the growing season it should be maintained within 50-60%. If this value is exceeded, it is possible that flowers fall, susceptibility to fungal diseases such as black leg, late blight, and this can lead to a decrease in the level of yield.

Watering tomatoes is not difficult. After planting, the plant is watered at such intervals that the soil remains moist. In dry weather, when it does not rain for a long time, watering can be carried out every day, but usually the beds with tomatoes are irrigated 2-3 times a week.
The methods of tying tomato bushes can vary significantly, depending on the availability of available material, the method of fixation, and also the variety. In general, it is recommended to adhere to the following scheme: first, the central stems are grabbed, and then, as the fruits ripen, the lateral branches.
One of the important conditions for tomato agricultural technology is the correct formation of the bush. The formation of tomato bushes means performing the following steps: pinching, pinching, trimming the leaves, normalizing the ovaries.

A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.

It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.

Disease and pest resistance

The hybrid variety Sovereign demonstrates excellent resistance to such ailments as tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), stolbur, alternaria. And also the hybrid has high immunity to:

  • root knot nematode;
  • verticillosis;
  • fusarium;
  • cladosporiosis.
Treatment and prevention of diseases and pests
When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, diseases often occur due to a violation of the temperature regime and excessive humidity. The most common diseases are fungal (late blight, cladosporium, rot).
The fight against diseases and pests of tomatoes in open areas can be quite difficult. This is because nightshades are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and insect pests.

Resistant to adverse weather conditions

The sovereign's tomato culture will develop well in any conditions, low temperatures do not have any effect on it.
