There are many good varieties of tomatoes in Russia, each of which has a unique set of characteristics. Especially appreciated are large, fleshy fruits that you can be proud of. One of these varieties, the Miracle of the Earth, time-tested, from domestic breeders.

Breeding history

The Wonder of the Earth tomato variety was bred by a scientist from Novosibirsk, Vladimir Dederko, almost 20 years ago, back in 2002. After 4 years, it was registered in the State Register, and now it is officially sold in all seed shops in Russia. Although there is still some shortage of true seeds of this variety. I am glad that this tomato is not hybrid. This makes it possible to use the seeds annually, while the preservation of all taste and species properties is guaranteed.

Description of the variety

Due to the fact that the tomato was bred in the Siberian climate, it is suitable for most regions of our country. The variety is hardy, tolerates hot and cool days well. Suitable for growing in a greenhouse and in the open air, however, due to the fact that the plant is tall and reaches almost 2 meters in adulthood, there are some nuances of growing.

The main qualities of the fruit

The fruits have a flattened rounded shape. The average size is 380 g, however, there are also kilogram specimens.

Gardeners note that mature tomatoes are not prone to cracking, but they do not tolerate transportation well and lose their shape and appearance when lying for a long time. Therefore, it is recommended to quickly process or eat them.

Taste characteristics

The Miracle of the Earth is distinguished not only by its pleasant appearance, but also by its rich taste and aroma. The taste is sweet, a bit like a watermelon. Delicious juices and sauces are made from this variety. The fruits are consumed fresh or used for summer salads and homemade preparations.

Ripening and fruiting

Fruit ripening occurs 3-4 months after planting. The fruiting period is extended in time, so the bushes will delight with the harvest for a long time.

Yield

The variety has a high yield. On average, up to 4 kg of tomatoes can be obtained from one bush. It is known that in the warm regions of the country more than 5 kg of fruits are harvested from the bush.

The timing of planting seedlings and planting in the ground

Before planting in the ground, seeds must germinate for at least 60 days. Experienced gardeners begin preparing seedlings at the beginning of February, so that the plant has time to bear fruit as much as possible.

Growing tomato seedlings is an extremely important process, because it largely depends on whether the gardener can harvest at all. All aspects must be taken into account, from seedbed preparation to planting in the ground.

Landing scheme

The technology of growing tomatoes of the Miracle of the Earth variety is no different from any others.

As noted earlier, the variety is not hybrid, so if you were unable to buy seeds in the store, you can use your own, or ask who has them. Such seeds will surely sprout and please with the harvest. However, a number of mandatory procedures must be followed.

  • Seeds need to be prepared: choose large ones, disinfect and soak.

  • Prepare the soil properly.

  • After planting, monitor the humidity, and after the seeds germinate, dive the seedlings.

No special conditions for plant growth are required - moderate watering, light and heat will do their job. Even a novice gardener can handle the process.

Planting a tomato is a very important and painstaking business. In order to get a good harvest of tomatoes, you need to competently approach the issue of planting. When planting a tomato in the ground, it is necessary to take into account many factors - correctly determine the timing, prepare the soil, correctly calculate the distance between plants, take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Growing and care

For the normal development of this variety, tomatoes require a mandatory garter with high and strong support, especially when grown outdoors. Great freedom when planting is not required, when forming the 1st stem, you can place 4 plants on a square meter of land, with two stems - 3.

In the first case, it is necessary to get rid of all the stepsons, in the second - only under the first brush with color. Removing stepchildren for this variety is an indispensable condition, since without this there will be no harvest.

Watering tomatoes is not difficult. After planting, the plant is watered at such intervals that the soil remains moist. In dry weather, when it does not rain for a long time, watering can be carried out every day, but usually the beds with tomatoes are irrigated 2-3 times a week.
The methods of tying tomato bushes can vary significantly, depending on the availability of available material, the method of fixation, and also the variety. In general, it is recommended to adhere to the following scheme: first, the central stems are grabbed, and then, as the fruits ripen, the lateral branches.
One of the important conditions for tomato agricultural technology is the correct formation of the bush. The formation of tomato bushes means performing the following steps: pinching, pinching, trimming the leaves, normalizing the ovaries.

A plant needs different micronutrients at each stage of growth. All fertilizers can be divided into two groups: mineral and organic. Folk remedies are often used: iodine, yeast, bird droppings, eggshells.

It is important to observe the rate and period of feeding. This also applies to folk remedies and organic fertilizers.

Disease and pest resistance

Practice shows that this plant has good immunity and is not susceptible to late blight even in the open air.

However, cases of brown spot and tobacco mosaic disease are known.

These diseases are not critical and can be treated with both standard medicines and folk methods.

With tobacco mosaic, it is necessary to urgently remove the affected part and treat the sections with a manganese solution or ground activated carbon. Brown spot is treated with copper oxychloride.

Resistance to adverse weather

The variety tolerates even temperatures that are critical for other tomatoes, but high growth requires good protection from strong winds.

Treatment and prevention of diseases and pests
When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, diseases often occur due to a violation of the temperature regime and excessive humidity. The most common diseases are fungal (late blight, cladosporium, rot).
The fight against diseases and pests of tomatoes in open areas can be quite difficult. This is because nightshades are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and insect pests.

Growing regions

Despite its Siberian origin, the Miracle of the Earth shows its maximum in the warm regions of Russia (Krasnodar, the Caucasus). However, the greenhouse protection allows the variety to bear fruit well in colder regions. Praise comes from gardeners from the Altai Territory, Kuzbass, as well as Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Review overview

The variety has more than 97% of positive reviews on the Internet. First of all, buyers emphasize high yields. Some gardeners boast that they remove up to 10 kg of fruit from the bush per season. Tomatoes grow juicy and fleshy. In addition, many note that the Miracle of the Earth copes well with viral diseases and does not require additional use of chemicals. The variety does not require special care conditions, is easy to grow and effective in many regions of the country.
