Features of electric braziers

Modern man has long been mired in the daily urban bustle and routine. Departure to nature is a long-awaited salvation of soul and body. Each of us loves really high-quality outdoor recreation, but sometimes the conditions for this are too difficult to achieve.

Most often, a trip outside the city ends with the fact that 80% of the time we are engaged in cooking, namely, hot barbecue. After all, you can't just put the skewers on the grill and go to rest. You need to be around endlessly, watch the fire and turn the meat over in time so that it does not burn and spoil. And only when all the meat is overcooked, we can finally allow ourselves to sit down to rest and eat. They just didn’t have time to look back, but it’s time to go home.

All this exhausting process is easy to avoid. It is enough just to learn how to use an electric barbecue. And all the preparation of a kebab will consist in kindling a fire and replacing the cooked meat with new portions. After all, a brazier with an electric drive was invented in order to make cooking on skewers as easy as possible. The automatic cooking process will give you the opportunity to have a quality rest, spend time with loved ones, and not near a fire in smoke.

This article will describe such a type of device for preparing food in the field, such as an electric brazier. The majority of users (about 90 percent) who tried the device forever preferred it and never returned to using a simple, mechanical barbecue.

What it is?

The electric grill was invented several years ago. At the moment, there are several main types of electric barbecue construction, each of which is unique in its own way. If you prefer a ready-made model, which can be purchased in the store, then your assistant will be able to cook several dishes at the same time on the grill and even on the grill using a special grid.

The ease of use of such equipment will instantly make you a fan of modern barbecue cooking., after all, you just need to put the sharp end of the skewer in a special hole, and send the handles to the teeth in the body of the brazier drive. When the electric drive is turned on, the mechanism is activated by an electric motor, the sprockets begin to move, it is picked up by the gears, thus, the chain begins to rotate, carrying skewers with meat, in the common people it is called a spit.

It is not necessary to buy a ready-made electric grill in the store. You can build it yourself, because the design is not as complicated as it seems at first glance. It will take you a little time to make a barbecue, but the improved barbecue will bring joy from using for many years. And also you can always remove the structure from the barbecue and continue to fry the barbecue in the old way, by hand.

If you decide to create an electric brazier yourself, first of all, you need to familiarize yourself with the types of equipment and diagrams in order to choose the model that you like most.

If the plans include remaking a simple barbecue, improving it with an electric drive, then you should have such tools in your arsenal:

  • Electrical engine;
  • Bulgarian;
  • the drive belt can be replaced with a bicycle chain, but then the pulleys will be in the form of sprockets;
  • door, preferably electric;
  • pulley;
  • gears in such quantity, for how many skewers your grill will be designed for.

How to do it yourself?

There shouldn't be any difficulties in making an electric BBQ grill, because you already have a ready-made grill. You just need to connect an electric motor to it so that the skewers rotate independently.

The stages of assembling an electric drive include several steps.

  • You need to make blanks - cut two rectangular plates from a metal sheet. To do this, you need a grinder. From them you will build a body. The sizes are chosen according to the parameters of your barbecue.
  • Make cuts at the top of the plates for skewers. The gap between the cuts should not be less than the size of the gears.
  • To assemble the gearbox on the brazier, you must attach the pulley to the engine. If you are using a bicycle chain, the pulley is replaced with a sprocket. To the part that is larger than the rest, you need to weld the gear. The entire structure must be attached to the shaft already fixed to the plate. Select an asterisk of the required size in advance, because the skewer with a kebab should rotate no more than 2 times a minute, otherwise the meat will not be fried properly or will burn altogether.
  • Attach the second gear to the back of the shaft.
  • Attach a gear to each skewer that fits the pulley gears or sprocket, whichever you are using.
  • After you have assembled the electric actuator, choose a suitable convenient place to attach the heart of the entire structure - the motor. Usually it is attached to the legs of the barbecue. After installing the engine, pull the chain on the small pulley to the large one fixed in the housing from the drive. And fasten the second chain to the gears in the housing and to the large sprocket. You need to place it horizontally.
  • Punch holes in the corners of the metal plates. Use the bolts and connect the plates so that the entire rotation mechanism is hidden inside.
  • For convenience, weld on special hooks to support the motor.
  • Support the skewers on the back of the brazier, punch holes in it.

Engine selection

In fact, you have a wide selection of motors that can fit an electric barbecue. For example, the engine from the car windshield washer, from the windshield wipers. Any motor of this type will suit you, the main thing is that the power supply is at least 12V. The side of rotation is irrelevant.

A hand-made motor has its advantages, because it will provide the ability to regulate the rotational speed, speed, or even work in different modes.

Advantages

Brazier with an automatic design is an improved way of cooking meat in nature. The skewers rotate automatically and thanks to this they evenly fry the meat in all directions without human assistance. The cook only needs to remove the meat from the grill in a timely manner so that it does not burn and dry out.

You can talk a lot about the advantages of such a traveling assistant, but we will outline the main advantages.

  • Compactness of the device - you can always put the brazier in the trunk of your car before going out into the countryside. And after the end of cooking, let the equipment cool down and take it back home. You can store such a grill in the same way as a regular one - on the balcony, on the street or in the basement, at your discretion.
  • The taste of barbecue is like in a restaurant. Forget about burnt, overdried meat to eat because it's a pity to throw it away. It is no wonder that in nature it is difficult to constantly control the preparation of barbecue. And it often happens that after moving away from the barbecue just for a minute, you come back and find burnt meat, because you missed the planned turning of the skewer. With an electric grill, such problems will no longer arise. The whole design is designed to minimize human control over the preparation of the kebab. It is enough just to light a fire, string the meat on skewers, install them in the structure and start the mechanism.And then you can do good rest, and not inhale smoke near the barbecue. At the same time, the meat turns out to be perfectly roasted, of amazing taste, and without much effort.
  • The ability to independently make an electric grill. The above is the algorithm for manufacturing equipment. There is nothing complicated, it is enough just to have the necessary tool. Anyone can handle the task.
  • Cleaning an electric barbecue is practically no different from cleaning a regular one. Let the barbecue cool down after cooking the barbecue, thoroughly shake out all the remains of the charcoal from the inside. This is usually enough. But, you can also wash your equipment if you bring enough water with you.

      There has been a lot of talk about minimal control of the meat preparation process, but let's reiterate this advantage. The lack of control over the preparation of barbecue dishes is the main reason why you need an electric rotisserie for stationary barbecues.
