A cozy gazebo is a great way to decorate your lot and get a great place to relax. In order to relax in your yard at any time of the year, you just need to choose not a classic gazebo, but an insulated one. There are many types of warm winter gazebos, as well as ways to decorate them.

Peculiarities

Buildings designed for recreation in any weather can be either massive, resembling a mini-house, or elegant, built of wood or stone and glass.

They all differ in certain design features. Such gazebos are often an extension to the house or a summer kitchen. This is convenient, because in this case, you can arrange a place for eating in the gazebo, and not just for family gatherings.

Winter building can be a "transformer", that is, in the summer, it is no different from an ordinary gazebo, and in the winter it turns into a reliable shelter, protected from cold and snow. Moreover, such a transformation takes very little time.

Inside such a gazebo, you can place not only a table and a bench, but also other necessary furniture, for example, a small heater or even a stove.

Styles

A winter gazebo can look different. Ideally, you should try to find the style that matches the landscape and the main building.

Classic

If there are absolutely no ideas about the choice of style, then it is best to stop at classic English. Such gazebos are almost universal and are combined with both monumental buildings and fashionable cottages.

This type of structure is usually made of light colored stone or wood. A fireplace can be installed inside. There is a minimum of decor, and the structure itself is distinguished by the severity of forms and simplicity of decoration.

Mauritanian

In the event that the previous option seems too boring, then you can choose something more original, for example, a gazebo in the Moorish style. Such a building looks very unusual. The roof looks especially original. As a rule, it is multi-level, in some cases additionally decorated with all kinds of patterns.

Such a building is usually dark, in the summer it is dominated by a slight twilight. But in winter it is illuminated with all kinds of lanterns and even candles. There should be plenty of them in a Moorish-style building.

Japanese

The gazebos in the Japanese style also look original. This is a triumph of minimalism and simplicity. Classic buildings in Japan are made of reed, bamboo and rice paper.

But for our climate, they are too fragile and cannot withstand severe cold weather. However, you can build a Japanese gazebo and stone or plain wood. The main thing is that it should be visually similar to the original.

A Japanese-style winter gazebo should have a lot of light, so you need to take care of choosing large insulated windows. They are complemented by light curtains, such as roller shutters or blinds in pastel colors.

Inside, the gazebo also needs to be supplemented with furniture that matches the style. These can be low tables, mats or tats instead of massive sofas and all kinds of benches decorated with light carvings. You can decorate the room using various ikebans, paper lanterns and smooth stones. All these small details will help you feel the subtle atmosphere of the East even in the cold Russian winter.

Chalet

Another style that can inspire a talented person to build and equip a beautiful winter gazebo is a chalet. He came from the Alps, where shepherds lived in small huts of this type. The atmosphere in these houses was very cozy and even romantic.

This type of winter gazebo should be built from classic materials such as stone and wood. Metal or plastic is unacceptable even in decoration. Chalet-style buildings are complemented by very large windows to keep the room bright and to enjoy the surrounding area.

When it comes to interior decoration, the décor in the home should be more discreet. The walls are often devoid of decoration. Sometimes they can be either finished with a thin layer of plaster or covered with light colored wood paneling. The palette of shades should not be very bright - preference should be given to warm colors, for example, brown, terracotta or muted red.

On summer cottages, gatherings with barbecue are often arranged. To get the opportunity to relax in this way in the winter season, you should put the barbecue directly in the gazebo. The fact is that the "shepherd's hut" is a place that should smell of fresh firewood and deliciously cooked meat.

Provence

Provence-style gazebos look cute and charming even in a small area. The winter building can be made more closed, made of light-colored bricks. Such a room should be archaic and seem a little old, even if it was just built.

The Provencal style is recognizable by the predominance of light colors, the use of natural stone, vintage furniture and beautiful fabrics. Inside such a gazebo, lace tulles, cotton curtains, woolen blankets and tweed covers for sofas and armchairs look good.

In addition to textiles for decoration, in this building you can also use such details as small vases with dry or fresh flowers, candlesticks, colorful lamps and other elements.

Russian

In search of something more traditional and close, you should pay attention to winter gazebos in the Russian style. Such a building will appeal to those who are inspired by the rustic style, the past of our country and domestic fairy tales.

This type of gazebo resembles a traditional Russian hut. It takes a lot of wood to build it. The base of the gazebo, and all kinds of benches, tables and chests are made from it. Finishing should be present in a minimum amount. It is quite easy to cover the wood with varnish or other protective means to keep the room longer.

As decorative elements, it is also worth choosing all sorts of little things in the traditional style, for example, stoves painted with patterns, caskets, samovars and other items. Do-it-yourself napkins, carpets or blankets will add Russian charm to the room.

You can also decorate the room with hand-drawn paintings, carved frames, and in other equally interesting ways.

Country

The last style to be discussed is country. Such a room looks great both on a rural plot and next to a luxury cottage. A warm winter country-style gazebo can be made of timber or simple planks.

Wicker and wrought-iron furniture is used inside. At the same time, it should not be too pretentious - the simpler the better. A simple hearth with live fire will add comfort to the room.

Arrangement Tips

Regardless of the style in which the room is built, it also needs to be additionally equipped. To make the room comfortable at any time of the year, you need to take care of everything in advance.

Building base

In order for the gazebo to be more reliable, a high-quality foundation must be made before erecting it. This is especially true if the gazebo itself is large and heavy.

The walls can be made of different materials, but, regardless of which one is chosen, they should be insulated. To keep it always warm inside, you can lay a moisture-resistant insulation on the walls. However, it is worth talking about such an important issue as room insulation.

When the walls are ready, you can proceed to the search for windows. In a winter gazebo, they are definitely needed so that the wind does not walk freely around the room.

There are two main types of windows that are selected for this type of building: removable and hinged. The removable ones are very convenient as they can be removed for the summer or replaced with a mosquito net. Swinging options are also good enough. If necessary, they can be opened by airing the gazebo.

Interior decoration

There should be nothing superfluous in the gazebo. Its internal arrangement should be simple and relaxing. You should limit yourself to a table, chairs, benches and several shelves.

If desired, the gazebo can be decorated to make it more comfortable. The decor will suit both functional and evoking some pleasant emotions.

Insulation tips

To insulate a room, you can use it in different ways.

The main option is wall insulation or their construction, for example, from gas blocks. If the gazebo is more like not just a sitting area in the garden, but a full-fledged room, then inside you can put a good radiator or other electrical appliances that save you from the cold. Well, another obvious option is to install a stove or heater, which can be used both for warming a room and for cooking.

Examples of gazebos

In search of inspiration for the construction of a beautiful winter gazebo, you can see some interesting examples.

  • Classic. The first example is a beautiful gazebo, which will become a reliable protection from cold and snow. It is completely made of natural materials - log and stone. The room is heated - there is a small stove in the very center. It both insulates the room and decorates it.

As a decor, woodcarving is used here, beautiful window sills, complemented by tubs with live conifers. This type of room only becomes more charming in winter.

    • Minimalism. The second example is a light gazebo made in a minimalist style. The white base is complemented by huge windows through which the entire green garden is visible. The room is quite large, so there is a place in it for both a dining area and a compartment for a mini-kitchen. The bright gazebo is decorated with fresh flowers, which can be replaced with artificial ones in winter, or potted plants.
    • The charm of Provence. The next example is a light timber structure with a dark gray roof. It looks charming and fits perfectly into the landscape design of the site. The windows here are small, but they go well with the massive door with glass inserts.

A winter gazebo should not be bulky and resemble an ordinary brick or timber house. A little inspiration and imagination is enough - and the room will become truly original and charming. And thanks to thoughtful insulation, it will be comfortable to spend time in it both in winter and in summer.
