Greenhouses "Tulip": models with opening sides and sliding roof

Gardeners and gardeners are very biased when choosing a greenhouse. A lot of parameters are estimated - from the price to the place occupied on the site. Everyone has their own criteria: someone needs a bountiful harvest and ease of use, perhaps to the detriment of appearance, for someone, on the contrary, the overall composition of outbuildings in the country, including greenhouses, is important. Greenhouse "BotanikTM Tulpan" is a new word in the greenhouse market, nevertheless, it has already won a large number of admirers.

In Russia, a fairly large number of types of greenhouses are produced, each of which finds its own consumer.

We offer a wide variety of models:

• glass, polyethylene and polycarbonate;
• frame from all-welded steel pipes and similar - from collapsible; the frame is made of plastic, wood or metal;
• equipped with vents (most models), opening ("Delta") or sliding doors ("Tulip", "Botanist");
• with removable ("Convertible"), sliding to the ends ("Matryoshka"), sliding ("Botanist") or opening roof ("Clever").

The undoubted advantages include several characteristics.

• No snow load. The roof of the greenhouse can easily be moved during the cold season, which will prevent damage from severity.
• Since the snow will fall directly into the greenhouse, it will cover the soil and prevent it from freezing. This, in turn, will allow the preservation of a favorable microflora of the soil, which will have a positive effect on the growth and development of crops in spring and summer.
• The use of this type of greenhouse contributes to the creation of a natural microclimate for plants, which leads to an increase in yield.

• Ensure proper ventilation thanks to the sliding roof sashes.
• Possibility of natural watering. If the roof flaps are pushed apart, natural irrigation will occur during the rain.
• Polycarbonate is considered one of the most durable and user-friendly materials.
• Ease of use due to design features. With careful use, the service life will be more than 10 years.

This type of greenhouse also has its drawbacks.

• The rapid loss of the appearance of polycarbonate and its wear and tear in comparison with glass greenhouses, as well as the costly replacement of damaged areas.
• Adherents of traditional greenhouse designs do not approve of replacing the vents with sliding sidewalls and moving them to the door.
• There is also an inconvenience that polycarbonate is not included in the greenhouse kit and must be ordered separately. True, some summer residents, on the contrary, are happy about this, since you can choose the density of polycarbonate to your liking. Manufacturers explain the need for a separate purchase of polycarbonate by the fact that today there is no representative office of the company in Russia, and supplies from Belarus are expensive and unreliable in terms of the possibility of material damage.
• The most important disadvantage of this type is its price, which varies from 25,000 rubles. up to 46,000 rubles, which can be quite a tangible amount for most gardeners.

If we compare the Tulip with the Delta greenhouse, which, at first glance, has a similar type of device, we can distinguish the main difference: in the first version, the roof and sidewalls move, and in the second, they rise. Accordingly, for "Delta" and other similar structures, additional space is needed when its doors are open. This is not required for the Tulip.

Greenhouse "Tulip" can be installed on any summer cottage, because its size range includes models with a length of 4, 6, 8 and 10 m. The width and height of each is the same - 3 and 2.1 m, respectively. A mini-greenhouse with a length of 4 m will find its place even in the smallest summer cottage, and due to the fact that the roof and sashes move, and do not open outward, it can be placed right next to the beds.

The greenhouse is made of profile galvanized stainless steel pipes 40x20 mm in size, connected by welding. It should be noted that the thickness of the pipes is greater than in similar collapsible structures (20x20 mm), which makes the frame more durable and stable. This is facilitated by the "smart" 4-bolt fastening, which the manufacturer himself describes as "stronger than welding". The frame is stretched polycarbonate with a thickness of 4 to 6 mm, with a density of at least 0.65 kg / m3 (these are the conditions of the manufacturer).

Greenhouse "Tulip" with opening sides and top is made only from an all-welded pipe, which increases its strength and rigidity compared to similar collapsible structures. The sliding and sliding roof is also polycarbonate, it can be either slightly pushed aside for ventilation, or fully opened for the winter period or during the rain for natural irrigation.

The frame kit includes everything you need to assemble the greenhouse (screws, bolts, hardware), with the exception of polycarbonate, which is purchased separately. Depending on the thickness of the polycarbonate, choose an end profile. At each end of the greenhouse there are 2 doors, each of which has a window.

The manufacturer has developed special guidesthat help to securely fix and hold the sash and roof in the position set by the owner. This profile is also resistant to ultraviolet rays and is not subject to destruction due to their influence.

To assemble the greenhouse, you will need the following set of tools:

• screwdriver with crossheads and hexagon 8 mm;
• wrench 10 mm;
• construction knife, the blade of which is extended;
• roulette;
• level.

It is recommended to carry out work in cotton gloves with a polymer coating. Despite the fact that the foundation is not a prerequisite in order to build and install the Tulip, the manufacturer recommends building it. It can be tape, monolithic or lumber.

If the foundation is not possible for any reason, the kit includes lugs designed to install the greenhouse directly into the ground. However, the installation base must be level to avoid skewing the greenhouse.

Despite the fact that the "Tulip" can be placed anywhere on the site, since the greenhouse does not require additional space during the opening of the shutters, there are a number of recommendations.

By observing them, you can choose the best place to install a greenhouse.

• The area where the structure will stand must be sunny and calm. This will help the greenhouse to warm up.
• It is not recommended to install a greenhouse near trees. Firstly, leaves can crumble from them, and if the tree bears fruit, then the fruits. Secondly, a dense crown will block the sun for greenhouse crops.

• The ground must be even and firm so that the structure does not warp.
• For the convenience of harvesting and transporting the crop, it is better to locate the greenhouse either next to the shed or to the house, so that it was not far away to carry buckets or boxes with vegetables or fruits. Also, it should not be far from the water supply system.
• It should be convenient to approach the greenhouse, so it is not recommended to put it right next to the garden bed, you need to leave the path, at least narrow.

It is equally important to immediately decide what the greenhouse will be used for growing. If the crop is planned to be used for personal use, then you should not invest too much in its purchase. If there is an idea in the future to build a business on horticultural crops, then it is worth considering the possibility of acquiring a more spacious and impressive (including cost) design.

Consumers generally speak positively about Tulip, noting both ease of assembly and ease of use. In addition, the ability to move the roof for the winter and not clean off the snow from it is very highly appreciated by summer residents, especially those who are deprived of the opportunity to regularly travel to the country in winter. When pushed back, the roof is not subject to the pressure of the snow mass, therefore, the structure remains intact.

Also noted are the strong frame, and the relative ease of its assembly, and the possibility of airing in whole or in part, depending on the weather. The ability to move the roof and sidewalls is convenient for both plants and gardeners, who can comfortably harvest without languishing in the stuffy air in the greenhouse.

Among the shortcomings, buyers highlight the high cost and the need to order polycarbonate separately, since it is not supplied with the greenhouse. In addition, not all consumers figured out how to stretch polycarbonate, and if the assembly of the frame does not cause any particular difficulties (it is supplied half assembled), then bringing the greenhouse into its final form still often requires the help of professionals who have dealt with such types works earlier.
