Dimensions (edit)

As you can see from the above, roses can be of different sizes. And this primarily depends on the type of plant. Where they will be planted depends on their size. For example, the shortest of them are used to decorate houses. At the same time, they can be planted both in pots and in flower beds. In addition, such plants have a great advantage over their "relatives". Indeed, for the winter period, those that grow in flower beds can be transplanted into pots. Then you can enjoy their flowering all winter.

The same roses, the height of which reaches one and a half meters, can be planted on flower beds or near gazebos. The tallest of them are most often used to create arches in parks or large gardens.

However, this does not mean that they cannot be planted in a small area.

How to plant?

Having decided to plant a rose in your garden, you need to know how to choose the right seedling. First of all, it must be of high quality, with closed roots. If the seedling was purchased ahead of time, then it can be stored for some time in the refrigerator on the lower shelf. In addition, after a certain time, it is necessary to slightly moisten the ground near the roots of the rose.

Such plants can be planted both in autumn and spring. If it is spring, then the earth must definitely warm up, at least to +9 degrees... Approximately - this is the end of April, beginning of May. Disembarkation can also be carried out in the fall, namely: from late September to mid-October. If planted later than this date, the plant will not be able to root well, which means it will not survive the winter.

Landing should be in a place where there is a lot of light, because in the shade the rose either does not bloom at all, or releases more "blind" shoots. In addition, the land must be fertile.

A hole for a seedling must be dug up to half a meter both in width and in length. In addition, the distance between them must also be at least 50 centimeters. Before that, you need to prepare top dressing. To do this, you can mix the soil with humus or compost. Before the very beginning, you need to pour water into the hole. Then the roots of the rose must be sprinkled with earth and only after that fertilizer must be added. The root itself needs to be pruned a little, by about one third. In addition, the shoots should also be pruned. It is necessary to leave 4 buds on each shoot... This is necessary for the good development of the plant.

At the very end of the planting procedure, the seedling is sprinkled with earth so that it covers the grafted place by at least 4 centimeters.

After that, the soil must be thoroughly trampled down and watered.

How to care?

After planting, the rose, like any other plant, requires proper care. This is primarily watering, as well as top dressing. Air temperature is also important. After all, the rose does not like heat at all, as well as too rainy weather. She needs both autumn and spring care.

In addition, in whatever conditions the cultivation takes place, feeding the roses is imperative. Only in this case, the buds on the bushes can grow tender and fragrant.

Top dressing

Among all fertilizers, manure is one of the best. However, horse droppings are best used, but chicken droppings can only harm the rose. In some cases, the rose bush may simply burn out.

When flowering begins, you can feed with saltpeter.... To do this, add one tablespoon of this substance to 10 liters of water. During active growth, it is necessary to water the plant with organic fertilizers once every two weeks. It can be mullein or any herbal solution. Already from the end of July, it is no longer worth feeding the rose, since at this time it begins to prepare for the winter period.

In addition, it must be remembered that it is not worth overfeeding the plant, since in this case there will be a lot of leaves, but, on the contrary, there are few flowers.

Watering

To prevent the rose from drying out, it must be watered. You don't need to do this very often. It will be enough to water the plant once a week.... But in a too dry summer, the plant will need 2 times more moisture.

It is best to water the rose under the root itself, one bucket per bush is enough... After that, you can sprinkle the watering site with mowed grass so that the earth does not dry out very quickly.

Pruning

This procedure can be started as soon as the frost ends. At this time, it is necessary to check the condition of the bush, remove those shoots that have been damaged by frost, as well as weaker ones. Plants of the same age should be pruned very carefully, but those that have been "living" for more than one year - more. Young shoots are cut in half, and more mature ones are shortened to 4-5 buds. In those bushes where dry stems have appeared, it is imperative to get rid of them.At the same time, you can do this procedure with any varieties of roses. After all, this helps the plant grow well, as well as keep a beautiful shape.

Such a plant also requires repeated pruning. It is done when the first flowers wither. After that, you need to remove all dried roses, as well as shorten some young shoots. This will enable the bush to bloom more luxuriantly and for a long time.

Disease and pest control

Some varieties, regardless of where they are grown, are susceptible to fungal diseases. In addition, pests may appear on them from time to time. Therefore, it is imperative to fight with them.

  • Powdery mildew... In order to prevent such a disease, the following solution can be used: 35 grams of soda, one liter of warm water. This tool must be sprayed several times. This is best done in the spring, with a short break of 7 days. After that, it is necessary to repeat the spraying in June.
  • Aphid... To get rid of these pests, you can use a solution made from one bar of laundry soap and one bucket of water. All this needs to be boiled for 12 minutes, at the very end you can add a few branches of wormwood. When the solution has cooled, you can start spraying. It is necessary to repeat the procedure after one week. In severely neglected cases, if folk remedies do not help, it is better to use special drugs. So, "Aktara" will cope with this task. To scare away aphids, you can plant either a few lavender bushes or nasturtium next to a rose bush.

In cases where small cracks or spots have just appeared on the branches, they must be removed immediately. This will prevent the disease from spreading further.

How to prepare for winter?

This process is very important for any plant. And even despite the fact that roses are quite frost-resistant flowers, it is still worth insulating them. Preparatory work can begin at the end of the summer. At this time, it is necessary to stop feeding the plants in order for the growth of shoots to decline. After all, if this is not done, the rose bush will simply weaken and will not be able to endure the winter.

In the fall, before the very insulation of the rose, it is imperative to cut it off. You need to remove not only dried flowers, but also branches. The root system must be insulated with sawdust or a layer of humus. Cover everything from above with spruce needles or simply sprinkle with a layer of earth. In some cases, the stems of the rose also need to be covered. To do this, they must be removed from the supports and laid down.

You can even cover them with ordinary unnecessary rags.

For those people who have their own house or at least a small summer cottage, garden design is very important. After all, everyone wants the house to be a cozy nest. Flowers will help to cope with this question. Very often, it is roses that are used to decorate the entire yard. However, in order for everything to be harmonious, you need to know several important rules.

The first thing to do is choose a place to plant your rose bush. This should be a sunny spot that is easy to walk up to. First of all, this will ensure good care of the plant, and also allow you to approach it at any time. In addition, there should be plenty of room for root development.

Indeed, its development in the future depends on this, and the number of flowers that will delight the owners with their beauty and aroma.

And also you need to decide on the number of plants in the garden. In addition, it is worth considering the combination of roses with other flowers and design elements in the garden. Before planting, you need to ask whether certain flowers will grow with roses. In addition, you need to make sure in advance that the "neighbors" will not clog luxurious roses, and they will be able to fully bloom for several months.

It is imperative to make a drawing that will help you place everything correctly when planting.... Here you can either try to figure it out yourself, or invite a specialist who will help you cope with the task without much effort. The only thing to do is just tell him about your preferences. After that, an experienced specialist will make the garden a place to which you will want to return every day.

It is much easier to decorate a house or apartment with flowers, because if you don't like something, then the flower in the pot can simply be moved to another place.

Summing up, we can say with confidence that any of the considered types of roses are perfect for decorating their garden plots, and various botanical gardens, as well as parks. All of them will serve as a decoration for a particular composition and will delight everyone with their incredible beauty, as well as a pleasant aroma. The only thing that is needed for this is to set aside a little time for leaving.
