Many gardeners grow various types of roses on their plots. These plants can beautify any landscape. In order for them to grow and develop normally, it is necessary to use various fertilizers. Today we will talk about how you can feed roses in July.

The need for a procedure

Roses need to be fed periodically. Properly selected top dressing will help the vegetation survive the winter. In addition, they will protect flowers from a variety of diseases and parasites. Nutrient fertilization will also significantly extend the flowering period.

Top dressing of a garden rose in July ensures proper bud formation. The branches of the plant will become more elastic, they will not break even with strong gusts of wind.

What fertilizers are used?

A variety of dressings can be used for a rose.

Mineral

In specialized stores, you can buy a variety of nutritional formulations with potassium, nitrogen, phosphorus in the correct dosage. The following samples are considered the most popular:

  • BioEkor;
  • "Gloria";
  • "Hera";
  • Agricola Aqua;

After the flowering period, the roses should be treated with complex compounds with phosphorus and potassium. The maximum effect can be achieved by combining such substances with tinctures from mullein or bird droppings.

For active growth of green mass, fertilizing with nitrogen will be an excellent option. It is recommended to use them in early July.

You can prepare your own nutrient solution by mixing 10 liters of water and 1 tablespoon of ammonium nitrate (you can also take urea instead). This top dressing is used only once a season.

During the budding period, phosphorus and potassium are added to the complex once. The best options for a rose are potassium sulfate (30 grams per 10 liters of water) and superphosphate (30 grams per 10 liters of water). If the plant is deficient in potassium, then it is fed with calcium nitrate (25-30 grams of this substance per 10 liters of water). Sometimes a finished product is used "Kemira Universal 2". If there is a lack of magnesium or calcium, it is worth using fertilizer. "Gloria"... It must be evenly distributed over the ground for digging.

Various liquid fertilizers, including Bona Forte. This substance is first poured into clean plastic containers. This fertilizer contains magnesium, useful trace elements. It is recommended to use it until mid-July.

To achieve the most lush flowering, it is better to additionally fertilize a garden rose with superphosphate, sodium humate, ammonium nitrate. These components are preliminarily diluted in a liquid. Mineral fertilizers are sold in garden stores in the form of granules, powder, tablets, as well as a ready-made solution in liquid form.

Organic

Garden roses will also need nutritious organic fertilizing. They prepare themselves. Most often they are made from manure, compost, peat. Fresh manure should not be used, as it can severely damage the root system of vegetation.

There are various recipes for organic fertilizers.

  • 50 liters of water is mixed with 5 liters of rotted manure, 500 grams of superphosphate... The resulting mixture must be infused for a week.Immediately before processing, the finished composition is diluted in water (10 liters of water are used for 5 liters of solution).
  • 3 liters of chicken manure are mixed with 50 liters of pure water. In this form, the mass is insisted for 5-6 days. After all this is diluted in liquid in a ratio of 1: 10. Before use, 30 grams of superphosphate, 400-500 grams of ash are added to the finished nutrient solution.
  • 10 liters of liquid are mixed with 100 grams of wood ash. During use, the resulting mixture will need to be thoroughly stirred periodically.
  • Fresh nettles with roots are stored in a 10 liter container. There, add 100 g of superphosphate, 150-200 g of wood ash. All this is poured with clean water and infused for a week. It is better to put the container in a sunny place right away.

Sometimes horse manure and ready-made mineral fertilizer on foliage are used at the same time. But at the same time it is necessary to reduce the dosage of the latter by three times. This combination of nutrients will allow you to achieve maximum results.

Climbing rose can be fertilized with a mass of potassium sulfate and mullein.

Folk remedies

For a garden rose, various nutritious folk tinctures will also be an excellent option. So, you can use the following components.

  • Yeast... They will increase the number of beneficial bacteria in the soil. To make the product, you need to mix well 20 grams of yeast (both raw and dry) with 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and 2 liters of heated water. The resulting mass is left in a warm place for several hours. After that, the finished mixture is mixed with clean water in a ratio of 1: 10.
  • Green tincture. To prepare such a nutrient mixture, you need to collect any weed vegetation from the site. Then it is crushed and placed in a container. In this form, the plants are filled with heated liquid. After 8-10 days, it is necessary to stir the mass and dilute with water in a ratio of 1: 10.
  • Onion husk... This component not only saturates the vegetation with useful elements, but also protects against harmful bacteria and diseases. When preparing a tincture, 100 grams of onion husks are poured with water, all this is boiled for about 10-15 minutes. Next, the composition is sent to infuse for 2-3 hours. It can be used at the end of July.
  • succinic acid... This substance is used to feed various indoor and garden plants. To prepare a nutrient solution, mix 1 gram of such an acid and 5 liters of clean liquid. This composition is perfect for plants that grow poorly. It can be used in the second half of the month.
  • Ammonia. Tincture with such a component is used for the correct formation of buds and shoots. To prepare it, you need to mix one tablespoon of ammonia and 1 liter of water. The foliage is treated with the resulting composition, it can also be poured under the root of the plants.

Some gardeners also use a weak solution of potassium permanganate to feed garden roses. Moreover, processing with such a composition is performed every 15 days.

The choice of feeding, taking into account the region

It is necessary to select the right fertilizer taking into account the place where the rose is grown. So, in the Urals, during the budding period, it is better to process such plants with complex compositions with potassium and phosphorus. To stimulate flowering, increase the buds, you can use special ready-made preparations, including "Bud". Spraying in the Urals should be done after the formation of the first young leaves.

If roses are grown in Siberia, then you should feed the vegetation in mid-July. In this case, the best option would be a solution with mullein (1: 15) or with chicken droppings (1: 20). Such compositions are used when young shoots have already reached a height of 10 centimeters. During the first budding period, it is better to apply complex mineral fertilizers.

If a rose is grown in the middle lane, then it is best to use different complex compositions to fertilize it, since weather conditions often change in these territories. If the plants are planted in the southern regions, then for their nutrition it is worth using various dressings several times a month, because the roses growing in these areas have a longer flowering period.

How to fertilize correctly?

Fertilization can be done in two main ways.

  • Root... In this case, nutrients (wet or dry) are applied directly to the soil. At the same time, a small trench is dug around the stem. Its radius should not exceed 15 centimeters. Top dressing is placed in this trench, which is pre-mixed with turf. Further, all this is covered with earth. When watering, the top dressing will begin to gradually dissolve, penetrating deeply into the soil and saturating it with nutrients.
  • Foliar... Most often, leaf fertilization is applied when the vegetation has become too weakened. The nutrient composition is sprayed until the leaf blades are completely moistened. Such processing must be performed on both sides of the sheet at once. The composition of foliar dressing must necessarily include macronutrients and microelements. Foliar fertilizers are used immediately after preparation. They will not saline the soil, nor will they destroy beneficial microorganisms in it.

In order for the use of fertilizer to be as efficient as possible, to promote growth, there are some important rules to keep in mind.

  • Do not forget that in the process of leaving organic and mineral nutritional components should be alternated.
  • If you have just purchased a plant or they just transplanted it to a new place, feeding is not recommended.
  • All nutrients are required before use. be sure to dissolve in liquid.
  • Top dressing should be used in clear and dry weatherso that they can gradually be absorbed. Many gardeners advise processing after sunset. This will allow nutrients to penetrate as deeply as possible to the root system, to completely saturate the plants.
  • Before fertilizing, the soil should be slightly moistened. Otherwise, serious burns may appear on the roots of vegetation. In addition, before applying liquid nutrient dressings, the soil should be well loosened and weeded.
  • Only adult plants should be fed. In the first year after planting, fertilizers should not be used, so as not to harm young plants.
  • Remember not to use too much fertilizer. Otherwise, the garden rose may start to hurt and soon simply die.
  • In order for the vegetation to be able to fully develop, bloom magnificently, along with top dressing, one should timely carry out the trimming procedure. Immediately after it, you can apply the necessary nutrient fertilizers. After pruning, it is best to use mineral compounds with nitrogen (calcium nitrate, urea).
  • When applying dressings, it is necessary maintain a balance of nutritional components. The lack of one element will necessarily affect the effectiveness of other substances.
  • The most suitable period for feeding a garden rose will help you choose the lunar calendar. So, in July, it is better to use fertilizers for a rose on the 5th, 20th, 21st, 28th and 29th.
