Cabbage Explosion is a relatively recent, but extremely successful development of domestic breeders, which quickly gained recognition among summer residents and farmers. It is distinguished by a low percentage of non-commercial products, early ripening, short stems, with round beautiful heads of cabbage. It ripens amicably and is distinguished by a high content of valuable components. These are just some of the arguments in favor of growing it.

Description of the variety

Explosion - white cabbage, the seeds of a predominantly famous Russian originator. Its authors are - Lukyanenko A. N., Dubinin S. V., Dubinina I. N. This variety is recommended for cultivation in the West Siberian and Volgo-Vyatka regions. It was approved for use in 2009. This is a progressive development of Russian breeders, included in the State Register relatively recently, but already in demand and recognized by gardeners and farmers.

Gardeners like:

  • a neat, spherical fork, a small head of cabbage, not prone to cracking;

  • delicate medium-sized leaves with amazing taste;

  • a rich set of vitamins, micro- and macroelements;

  • good yield, suitable for all culinary delights.

An early ripening hybrid is planted early, the formation of a head of cabbage depends on climatic conditions and proper agricultural technology. The longest ripening period is no more than 3 months. It is noted that the hybrid is able to grow in various climatic regions, including the northern ones.

Characteristics of the appearance of the plant and heads of cabbage

After planting by a seedling or non-seedling method, horizontal rosettes appear on the beds, located on a short stem. Over time, the planting begins to form a fork, which occurs almost simultaneously and is characterized by amicability.

Already in the middle or end of July, you can get neat calibrated heads of cabbage with an average weight of 1.3 to one and a half kilograms in the shape of a ball or slightly flattened, covered with a pale bloom, but a beautiful delicate green color. The forks are well developed, multi-leaved, not disheveled. The top sheet adheres tightly to the main surface. Such cabbage is stored for a long time, without losing either taste or presentability. It is considered one of the best early varieties in terms of its ability to carry long distance transportation.

Purpose and taste

Like any early ripe variety, such cabbage is unsuitable for canning, harvesting for the winter, but it has an excellent taste and a rich set of vitamins and minerals. This means that the strain can be a great way to quickly overcome the vitamin deficiency caused by the cold season and the lack of fresh vegetables and herbs.

Delicate, but characteristic taste, sweetish-spicy, determines a wide scope of use of cabbage:

  • good in red borscht, with young vegetables and herbs;

  • perfect for cabbage rolls and frying;

  • ideal in any salad - both as a mono-vegetable and in a spectacular combination with root vegetables and nightshades;

  • can be used in the preparation of slightly acidic delicacies without the use of vinegar and chemicals.

Properly cooked cabbage Explosion is incomparable.

In section, the head of cabbage is dazzlingly white, does not boil over during cooking and does not break down into fibers, can be equally successfully consumed fresh, used for first and second courses. This variety goes well with baked goods.

Ripening terms

They are variable and depend not only on the region of cultivation, but also on the characteristics of a particular summer, early or late and cold spring. The average period for which a full-fledged surebet is formed is called 85-90 days. The variety is characterized as early maturing or ultra early. The exact dates depend on the planting in the soil or in the greenhouse: in the first case, this occurs at the beginning of April, in the second, at the beginning of the first spring month. It remains to add to the exact planting time from 80 to 90 days.

Yield

The numbers are called different, from 4.5 to 6 kg per sq. m. The highest yield when grown on an industrial scale was in the Tyumen region - 497 c / ha. The forums for gardeners indicate that the use of correct agricultural techniques can increase the number of kilograms obtained up to 6.5-8 per m2.

Growing and care

In growing cabbage, Explosion is exceptionally successful. The planting scheme of this variety is 40x60 cm. The variety is weakly susceptible to common diseases. The leaves on top do not dry out or wrinkle, do not crack from excess natural moisture.

Having provided a light-loving plant with sufficient illumination, having hardened the seedlings before planting and waiting for optimal natural conditions for it, you can limit yourself to timely regular watering, fertilizing and loosening in order to provide your farm with decent yield indicators. The hybrid is relatively resistant to common diseases, but pests will have to be dealt with if they are found.

To grow a rich cabbage crop, you need to know when and how to plant this crop outdoors. Planting dates are determined depending on the variety. It is also necessary to properly prepare the soil and follow the rules of crop rotation.

Proper watering is a prerequisite for agricultural technology when growing cabbage. This vegetable crop prefers regular watering, the frequency of which depends on weather conditions, soil composition, cabbage variety and other characteristics.
Cabbage, like many other vegetables, needs regular hilling. This procedure performs several functions at once: it makes the plants stronger, protects the crop from diseases and pests, retains moisture in the soil, and increases the yield of the crop.

Cabbage requires particularly careful care when growing. The plant quickly absorbs nutrients, so the soil needs to be enriched regularly. Adequate amounts of minerals, organics and nitrogen must be provided. Some products can be purchased at the store, while others are easy to make at home.

Cabbage is a very popular horticultural crop. But growing a good, large and tasty cabbage is sometimes very difficult, because it is often affected by a huge number of diseases and pests. The main role in the cultivation of this vegetable is played by regular prevention, which helps to get a rich harvest, and prevent the occurrence of diseases and the invasion of harmful insects. It is very important to start treatment as early as possible, otherwise there is a risk of spreading the infection to still unaffected plants.

Observance of simple conditions will help to save cabbage until the new harvest: the choice of a suitable variety, the correct preparation of the vegetable, maintaining the optimum temperature and humidity in the room.
