The pool is not the simplest structure, which includes many different parts necessary for its full functioning. The required components include injectors. This detail plays an important role in the functioning of the pool, therefore it cannot be treated mediocrely. In this article, we will find out what nozzles are and what they are used for.

What are injectors?

Before considering in detail what is the main functional load of these parts, it is important to answer the main question: what are injectors?

This component is a special embedded element that plays one of the main roles in ensuring high-quality and full circulation of the water mass in the pool. Due to the operation of the nozzles, water is returned back to the tank (bowl) itself after all stages of its disinfection and heating are completed. Currently, many different nozzles of all possible modifications can be found on sale.

The main thing is to choose this important detail correctly.

Functions and working principle

The process of water circulation itself, carried out in the pool due to the operation of the nozzles, can be performed in 2 ways: on the basis of displacement and mixing. So, the principle of displacement consists in displacing the dirty water mass into a special overflow trough using a clean water flow. With this method, it is required to ensure an optimal and uniform flow of treated water from the very bottom of the tank.

Such a flow is much more difficult to ensure if the nozzles that supply the water are located in the walls of the pool.

The main functional load on pool nozzles directly depends on their type. So, elements of a hydromassage type are designed to solve the following tasks:

  • air massage - function to form air bubbles;
  • hydromassage - release water jets under a certain pressure;
  • combined - serve for the formation of air-water flows.

When it comes to nozzles designed specifically for vacuum cleaners, their main function is to assist in the cleaning of ponds, both by hand and by robotic vacuum cleaners that need to be connected to a filter system. Usually these parts are equipped with special plugs needed for both aesthetics and safety.

Varieties

As mentioned above, jets specially produced for swimming pools are divided into different types. Each of them has its own operating characteristics and functionality. The places for the installation of different parts in the pool tank itself also differ. Let's take a closer look at how different types of nozzles differ.

  • Hydromassage. Most often, 2-3 pieces are bought. They must be installed in such a way that the lower part is at the same level with the lower back, and the upper part falls on the zone of the shoulder blades. By installing these jets in the pool, users will be able to combine swimming with massage.
  • Counterflow. Nozzles of this type create the effect of artificial water flow. These components are necessary for people who are professionally engaged in swimming. Due to the powerful water flow, it will be possible to swim without budging.
  • Water supply. They are used to supply clean water mass taken from the pool and then filtered. Suitable for tiled, composite and film tanks.
  • For a vacuum cleaner. The functionality of these varieties is described above. They are special elements of water treatment of an artificial reservoir.
  • Wall. It is divided into parts for water supply and suction pieces, which are designed to suck in water.
  • Bottom. Parts that are often installed in very deep pools and artificial overflow reservoirs.

Pool nozzles differ not only in the main tasks for which they were released, but also in the materials of manufacture. The following options are on sale today.

  • Polypropylene. Very popular and widely used. By itself, polypropylene is a type of plastic. It is less durable and wears out in a short time, becoming unusable. However, polypropylene nozzles are in demand because they are inexpensive.
  • Steel. On sale there are also specimens made of stainless steel. They are more expensive than polypropylene ones, but they last many times longer and do not lose their attractive appearance.
  • Bronze. These options are not found in all stores and are considered rare. They are expensive, but they last a long time and look impressive.
  • Combined. Such varieties of parts for the pool are also on sale, in which the main part is made of plastic, and the pads are made of stainless steel. You can also find options decorated with a mirror.

How to choose?

Pool nozzles must be chosen very carefully so as not to make a mistake with the purchase. Let's take a look at some tips for finding the best model.

  • Determine in advance which pool nozzle you need. Depending on the desired functions, the type of the selected part itself will be found.
  • Look for nozzles made from reliable and durable materials. Of course, they will cost more. You can buy a cheap part, but its service life is unlikely to pleasantly surprise you.
  • It is advisable to choose the best item from the range of branded products. Typically, branded nozzles are of better quality, more reliable and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Go to a specialized store to buy a similar part. It is not recommended to choose nozzles of products that are offered on the market or in an unnamed street shop.
  • You can order a suitable part in the corresponding online store if there is no retail outlet in your city that sells exactly the product that you need to equip the pool.

When looking for the right nozzle for your pool, it is recommended that you enlist the help of a sales assistant, especially if you are at a loss to make the right choice. This way, you will save time and not go wrong in buying the item you want.

Installation tips

    The nozzles must be installed during the construction phase of the pool. You can mount them yourself, but it would be more expedient to call professionals. If we are talking about a concrete pool, then here the nozzle is placed in a niche (it is done when concrete is poured). The installation of embeds can be referred to when the concrete has already been poured and the leveling layer has been laid. Having installed the nozzles, the voids of the niche must be filled with a special sealing non-shrinking compound.

    The correct location of the nozzles is also important when installing them:

    • the nozzles that supply the water mass from the filtering system must be evenly spaced;
    • in the scrimmer pool, nozzles are placed in the walls along the perimeter of the bowl;
    • a mortgage must be placed opposite the scrimmers, so that it is responsible for the direction of the water flow with waste to the scrimmer itself;
    • when it comes to special overflow hydraulic structures, then installation work is required to be carried out not only on the bottom, but also along the lower perimeter of the side walls.
