Peculiarities

Forged bridges are usually small in size. They often perform only a decorative function, but sometimes they serve to cross a stream or an artificial reservoir. The shape of such structures can be different, but most often there are two types.

  • Arched... This option is considered more popular, since it is able to give expressiveness to the landscape.

  • Straight... This option is the simplest and will suit almost any landscape.

Most often, such bridges are painted after manufacturing. special formulations. As a rule, powder pigments are used. Any color is possible.

Such products are very popular, made in black, dark brown and white.

And also the procedure is carried out patination... It involves the application of a special thin coating to the forged elements. It can be covered in bronze or gold, which will give the design an old-fashioned spirit.

Such bridges are not always completely made of forged metal. Often, only their basis is made up of a forged frame and railings. The flooring is made of boards made of various types of wood. In this case, the wood must be thoroughly dried and processed, this is especially necessary in cases where the finished bridge will be located above the reservoir.

A concrete or stone base can be part of the entire landscape. In this case, the path in the garden will smoothly transition into the bridge. Forged railings on such bridges are predominantly decorated with a large number of different patterns, including curls.

Cold forging is used to create typical designs. It should be noted that products manufactured by this method have an acceptable cost.

Hot forging

In this case, all metal blanks are preheated to a certain temperature regime. In this case, the material will have to reach a plastic state. After that, the details are processed manually, the required shape is given using artistic forging.

The hot forging method makes it possible to obtain designs of non-standard shapes. Most often, this method is used when making custom-made garden bridges. It should be noted that such specimens will have a relatively high cost.

Such structures with a metal base and large railings, decorated with intricate patterns and a large number of individual decorative elements, look beautiful and neat. Most often, arched samples are selected for such places, but sometimes straight ones are also used.

As an element of landscape design, whole trenches are specially dug at summer cottages. A composition consisting of artificial stone, plants and other decorations is also decorated there. After that, a bridge is installed through the trench.
