Cucumber Green Avalanche is popular with both amateur gardeners and commercial farm owners. The crop can be harvested already in the middle of summer, transported over long distances and used for personal use. The palatability of the fruit is excellent. At the same time, the hybrid has excellent immunity and unpretentiousness to growing conditions.

Description of the variety

This kind of culture appeared in 2017. It is intended for cultivation both in open areas and in film shelters. The hybrid loves sunlight, but tolerates its absence. Therefore, even in a cloudy summer, juicy fragrant fruits are formed on the bushes.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and zelents

The bushes of this variety have an indeterminate type of growth. The branching is average. The leaves are large, with a rich dark green hue. Parthenocarpic pollination allows fruit to set even without insects. In the nodes, 2-4 female flowers are formed.

Cucumbers grow small (up to 12 cm long). The average weight of one fruit is 125-140 g. The skin is dense, lumpy. The crop is dark green with visible spots and stripes.

Purpose and taste of fruits

Cucumbers Green avalanche have a delicate sweetish taste. They complement tomatoes and other vegetables wonderfully in light summer salads. They can also be used for canning. During processing, the structure of vegetables does not change, and the taste remains excellent, only acquiring some piquancy.

Maturation

The hybrid belongs to the group of early ripening cucumbers. From the emergence of sprouts to the formation of fruits, an average of 38-40 days pass. Harvesting is done every 2 days. Under favorable conditions, you can remove fruits from the bushes every day (it is better to do this in the early morning).

Yield

When cultivating the Green Avalanche cucumber in film greenhouses, you can get 18.1-18.6 kg from each square meter of planting. In open areas, yields are also good. The keeping quality of the fruit is excellent, which is why this variety is often chosen for growing for sale.

Growing regions

The hybrid is suitable for growing in the North, North-West and Central regions of the country. It is often cultivated in the Volga-Vyatka region, in the Central Black Earth Region, in the Caucasus, the Urals, the Far East, and even in Siberia.

Landing scheme

The recommended distance between plants is 30-40 cm. About 70 cm should be left between the rows. If you follow this scheme, the bushes will be able to fully develop and give the maximum possible yield.

Growing and care

Seeds are sown for seedlings in late April. Planting of plants is carried out in late May or early June (when 3-4 true leaves appear). If the sowing method is chosen immediately to a permanent place, the procedure is carried out in May-June.

Moderate watering is carried out 2-3 times a week. In very hot and dry weather, the soil is moistened daily. Both organic matter and mineral compositions can be used as fertilizers. It is advisable to alternate them. For the first time, the bushes are fed 2 weeks after the seedlings are moved to a permanent place. The next enrichment of the soil with nutrients is carried out during the flowering period. 2 more times the soil is fertilized during the ripening of the fruit.

If the hybrid is grown in a greenhouse, the plants must be pinned and tied up. In this way, the branches of plants will be able to receive a sufficient amount of light and oxygen. Also, do not forget about removing weeds and periodically loosening the earth.

Soil requirements

Peat pots and nutritious soil are suitable for growing seedlings. A mixture consisting of peat, humus, sand and ordinary earth can be considered ideal. On the site, it is better to choose a place with loose soil that allows air to pass through well.

In order to collect strong, tasty and beautiful cucumbers on your site, you need to make top dressing. Lack of nutrients can negatively affect the appearance of the plant and significantly reduce the yield. Fertilize cucumbers with organic fertilizers in combination with mineral fertilizers. With the right balance of these components and adherence to the fertilizing schedule, the cucumber yield will be maximum.

Disease and pest resistance

The hybrid is resistant to powdery mildew, cucumber mosaic virus, root rot, cladosporiosis. Cucumber Green avalanche is tolerant to downy mildew. In rare cases of peronosporosis, fungicides are used that give a quick result (for example, "Kurzat", "Ridomil Gold"). In case of an invasion of pests, they resort to folk methods of struggle or use store-bought drugs ("Aktellik", "Fitoverm" and others).

Despite their popularity, cucumbers are often attacked by diseases and pests. From them, cucumber plantings often die before the start of fruiting. In order to prevent this from happening, it is necessary to try to prevent ailments or get rid of them at the very beginning, having studied in detail their causes of occurrence, signs and methods of treatment.

Review overview

Vegetable growers familiar with this type of culture speak of excellent germination. Even seeds placed directly in open ground develop well, turning into strong and healthy shrubs. High productivity of the hybrid, excellent immunity are noted. Cucumbers are not bitter and taste good. The main disadvantage is that it is impossible to collect seeds on your own. However, those who love the hybrid for its characteristics do not regard this as too much of a drawback.
