Cucumbers are one of the most beloved fruit crops among Russian gardeners. Tasty and juicy vegetables are loved by adults and children, and the fruits are eaten in natural or processed form. Given the popularity of this crop, breeders never stop developing new varieties. One of them is the Murashka variety.

Description of the variety

The Murashka variety quickly attracted both experienced gardeners and beginners in this field. The plant turned out to be unpretentious with a high yield. This species is parthenocarpic, which means that it is considered self-pollinating and does not need help with pollination. Due to this feature, it can be grown in greenhouses.

Early ripening hybrids are found in almost all regions of the country due to their quick survival rate and adaptation to any weather conditions. The Murashka cucumber was developed by specialists from the Gavrish company. Initially, this variety turned out to be capricious and made high demands on care. Over time, it was improved, making it less whimsical.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and zelents

The gooseberry cucumber is a vigorous plant with an indeterminate type of growth. Branching is medium. The vine is covered with leaves of medium size, rich green color. The surface is flat and smooth. The edges are irregularly serrated.

The plant forms female-type flowers. In one node, their maximum number reaches three pieces. In one bundle, from 4 to 6 zelents are formed. The growth of lateral shoots is limited.

Shrubs grow throughout life and can reach up to 2.5-3 meters. To prevent the vine from covering the entire garden area, it must be pinched regularly.

The fruits grow short and grow in length from 11 to 13 centimeters. The diameter ranges from 3.5 to 4 centimeters. Average weight is about 90-100 grams. Zelentsy are formed in the correct cylindrical shape. The skin is of a deep dark green color, stripes are visible on the surface (up to 1 / 2-1 / 3 of the total length).

The surface of the cucumbers is covered with small tubercles. There are also small black spikes. The pulp density is medium. When cut, small seeds can be found in small quantities.

Fresh cucumbers cannot be stored for a long time. It is best to transfer the harvest to the refrigerator, where it will remain fresh for 4-5 days. It is advisable to immediately eat vegetables or use them for preparation for the winter or cooking.

Purpose and taste of fruits

Excellent taste characteristics were noted by all gardeners who are personally familiar with this variety. The bitterness in the fruit is completely absent. Vegetables are ideal for pickling and preserving. The purpose is universal.

Maturation

Murashka cucumber refers to varieties with early ripening. It is enough from 43 to 46 days for the formation of a ripe crop from the day of emergence. In some areas, the crop reaches technical maturity after 35-37 days.

Yield

The average yield varies from 10.3 to 12 kilograms of vegetables per square meter of beds. According to the reviews of experienced summer residents, the maximum yield can be achieved when growing fruit in greenhouses. Saplings planted in open ground produce fewer fruits.

Subject to agricultural technology, it will be possible to harvest the crop before the beginning of autumn, and in greenhouse conditions - until the end of September.

Growing and caring

If you maintain the area where the fruit crop is planted in proper condition, a rich harvest will be formed every season. It is necessary to carefully examine not only the condition of the plants, but also the beds. Cucumbers are vegetables with a high water content, so this crop needs regular and measured watering. Do not allow the soil to dry out and form a coarse crust on the surface.

Under stable and favorable weather conditions, the site is irrigated twice a week. In the hot season, the frequency of watering must be increased. If necessary, water the cucumbers twice a day.

Stagnant liquid is poorly tolerated by this crop, therefore, it is impossible to exceed the recommended norms, otherwise the roots may begin to rot. And also a humid environment is ideal for the development of fungus. About 20 liters of water are consumed per square meter of the garden (it is advisable to use settled liquid at room temperature).

In the process of watering, do not allow water to enter the fruit ovaries and buds, as this will negatively affect the health of the plants. Work should be done in the evening (at sunset or after sunset) when solar activity is minimized. Do not pour liquid under the roots either. So the root system will begin to bare and dry out.

A drip irrigation system is ideal for caring for cucumbers. If it is not possible to install it, it is necessary to dig small grooves between the bushes, where water will be poured.

Water is best stored in large containers such as barrels. As such, it will naturally heat up when exposed to sunlight. And also before use, it is advisable to defend the liquid throughout the day.

After completing the irrigation or precipitation procedure, loosening is required. When performing the work, you need to take into account that part of the root system is located in the upper layers of the soil, so it is easy to damage it with garden tools. And also the territory is regularly cleared of weeds that oppress fruit crops. Weeds are considered carriers of dangerous insects and diseases.

Top dressing plays an important role in the cultivation of cucumbers. To maximize yields, you need to use fertilizer every 12-15 days.

When making them, you should adhere to a certain scheme. Top dressing with a high nitrogen content is applied only before flowering. They promote healthy and lush green mass. Urea or ammonium nitrate is perfect as mineral fertilizers. Before adding from 10 to 15 grams of the drug is dissolved in 10 liters of water. Some gardeners actively use organic matter, for example, manure infusion.

To prepare a natural make-up, organic matter is mixed with water in a container, proportions - 1 to 5. The mixture must be covered with a tight lid and left to infuse for 10-15 days. Fertilizer should be mixed regularly every three days.

As soon as the mixture is ready, it is dissolved with water in a ratio of 1 to 10. In this form, the composition can be used to fertilize the cucumber bush. This recipe is also suitable for preparing a solution based on chicken manure, but before adding it should be diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 15. To increase the efficiency of fertilization, add nitrophoska to it. Enough 10 grams per liter of water.

When the plant begins to bloom, they switch to complex fertilizers on a mineral basis. It is advisable to choose formulations designed specifically for cucumber varieties. The drugs "Hera", "Clean sheet" or "Master" are in great demand. A solution of wood ash will also be useful (0.5 liters of ash is dissolved in three liters of boiling water).

Potassium and phosphorus are needed by fruit crops in the process of fruiting. It can be potassium sulfate or superphosphate. These drugs are not used in their pure form, they are also diluted with water (from 20 to 25 grams of the substance per 10 liters of water).

In order to collect strong, tasty and beautiful cucumbers on your site, you need to make top dressing. Lack of nutrients can negatively affect the appearance of the plant and significantly reduce the yield. Fertilize cucumbers with organic fertilizers in combination with mineral fertilizers. With the right balance of these components and adherence to the fertilizing schedule, the cucumber yield will be maximum.

Despite their popularity, cucumbers are often attacked by diseases and pests. From them, cucumber plantings often die before the start of fruiting. In order to prevent this from happening, it is necessary to try to prevent ailments or get rid of them at the very beginning, having studied in detail their causes of occurrence, signs and methods of treatment.
