Cucumber Faithful friends F1 is an early maturing bee-pollinated hybrid that gives high yields both in the open field and under a film cover. The crop is intended for cultivation in regions with different climatic conditions. High taste makes it possible to use the harvested crop both for fresh consumption and for the preparation of preserves and marinades.

Description of the variety

Cucumber Faithful friends F1 - the result of painstaking work of breeders-practitioners of the agricultural company "Manul". The greatest contribution to the breeding work was made by the farmers Borisov A. V. and Krylov O. N. In 2000, the hybrid variety was registered and went to retail. Cucumber Faithful friends belongs to bee-pollinated crops, which is suitable for growing both in the open field and in greenhouse conditions. The early ripening hybrid is intended for cultivation throughout the European part of Russia, as well as in regions of risky farming. The average yield of the variety is 3 kg from a plot of 1 m2. Thanks to this property, zelents are successfully grown both on private household plots and on farm lands.

Advantages:

  • universal purpose;

  • resistance to temperature fluctuations;

  • low branching;

  • ease of care;

  • stable harvest in regions with different climatic conditions;

  • high level of resistance to the most common diseases.

The disadvantage is the impossibility of self-collection of seeds.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and zelents

Medium climbing hybrid Loyal friends has a female flowering type. The plant has weak branching. Most of the hardwood is medium in size and has little corrugation. The color scheme of the leaves is deep green. The bundle type of formation of ovaries allows you to form in one bosom from 2 to 7 zelents.

The cone-shaped fruits are elongated with a slight expansion at the stem. The length of cucumbers ranges from 8 cm to 11 cm, and their average diameter is 3.5 cm. Depending on the degree of maturity, the mass of zelents can be from 90 to 105 grams. The bumpy leathery cover has a dense structure. The entire surface of zelents is covered with black, slightly pubescent spines. Delicate green fruits have light streaks

Purpose and taste of fruits

Cucumbers Faithful friends F1 is distinguished by its high taste and delicate cucumber aroma. Experienced summer residents note the absence of a bitter taste even in overripe fruits. Juicy and moderately dense structure makes it possible to use zelents both for preparing fresh salads and for creating winter preparations and pickles. Many housewives successfully freeze part of the harvested crop, which makes it possible to prepare cold soups in winter.

Maturation

The hybrid variety belongs to early crops. The first fruits appear 40 days after seed germination.

Yield

The early ripening variety is distinguished by its yield and a stable level of fruiting.From a plot of 1 m2, you can collect from 3 kg to 4 kg of gherkins.

Landing scheme

Due to the low branching density of planting plants in greenhouse conditions can be 3 bushes per 1 m2 of area, and in open ground the number of plants per 1 m2 can be increased to 5 pieces. The standard row spacing is 55 cm.

Growing and caring

The early ripening hybrid is distinguished not only by its universal purpose, but also by the ease of cultivation. To obtain early seedlings, sowing of seed material must be carried out in the last days of March, and planting it in the ground can be done after the threat of the last frost has passed. In early June, pre-prepared seeds can be sown in open beds.

To increase the percentage of germination, experts recommend pre-soaking the seed for at least 12 hours in a special disinfectant solution. To obtain healthy and strong shoots, the site planned for planting must be enriched with mineral or organic fertilizers. Experienced agronomists recommend using peat, compost or manure composition.

The maximum planting depth of seed should not exceed 20 mm. After the seeds are buried, the holes must be shed with warm water and the upper earthen layer must be mulched. To increase the number of ovaries, agronomists recommend planting pollinating varieties near the beds.

Despite the fact that the culture belongs to unpretentious varieties, in order to obtain a high-quality and stable harvest, breeders recommend following the basic agrotechnical rules when growing cucumbers. To improve the supply of oxygen to the root system, the soil must be regularly loosened, removing all weeds. Bare roots must be sprinkled in a timely manner. Moistening of the root zone should be carried out depending on weather conditions. During the drought period, watering is carried out 2 times a day with settled water at room temperature. Fertilization can be carried out both under the root and over the leaves. It is permissible to apply fertilizers once every 14 days.

In order to collect strong, tasty and beautiful cucumbers on your site, you need to make top dressing. Lack of nutrients can negatively affect the appearance of the plant and significantly reduce the yield. Fertilize cucumbers with organic fertilizers in combination with mineral fertilizers. With the right balance of these components and adherence to the fertilizing schedule, the cucumber yield will be maximum.

Disease and pest resistance

Cucumber F1 Loyal Friends refers to hybrid crops that have a high immune response to most diseases. The plant is immune to cucumber mosaic and cladosporium disease, lower level of resistance to powdery mildew and downy mildew. To prevent contamination of plantings, experts recommend that they be regularly treated with special chemical and biological preparations.

Despite their popularity, cucumbers are often attacked by diseases and pests. From them, cucumber plantings often die before the start of fruiting. In order to prevent this from happening, it is necessary to try to prevent ailments or get rid of them at the very beginning, having studied in detail their causes of occurrence, signs and methods of treatment.
