Cucumber Ukhazher is a hybrid resistant to unfavorable growing conditions. Differs in high productivity and juicy fruits, for which it is appreciated by gardeners. It is worth considering in more detail the properties and technique of growing a crop.

Breeding history

The suitor was taken out by domestic scientists. The hybrid plant entered the State Register of the Russian Federation in 2004, having previously passed a number of tests.

Description of the variety

A feature of the variety is the ability to grow it even in the most unfavorable conditions. Among the characteristics of a cucumber are:

  • medium late ripening;
  • powerful branched stems;
  • large leaf plates of a dark green hue.

The ability of a cucumber to release shoots is low, but this does not reduce its yield.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and zelents

The fruits are deep green in color. The average length of one fruit is 13-15 cm, the diameter reaches 3.5-4.5 cm, and the weight is 120-140 g. The thin skin and white thorns are characteristic features of the fruits of this variety.

Purpose and taste of fruits

Cucumbers Boyfriend have a rich and pleasant taste, suitable for fresh consumption. Also, the fruits of the plant are added to:

  • salads;
  • side dishes;
  • pickles;
  • snacks.

Cucumber Suitor is suitable for literally everything that gardeners value for.

Maturation

The culture refers to plants of medium late ripening. Usually, the first fruits appear already 55-57 days after planting.

Yield

The average yield of the Ukhazher is 5-6 kg. It can be increased with the right approach to cultivation and timely care. From one square meter, subject to the necessary recommendations, they get from 14.9 to 15.9 kg.

Landing scheme

The optimal time for planting seeds of the variety is the end of April. Before proceeding with the cultivation of cucumber, the seeds are carefully prepared by soaking them in a solution of "Fitosporin" for the purpose of disinfection. Through this treatment, it will be possible to prevent plant diseases and avoid pest attacks.

After the procedure, the prepared seeds are transferred into a pre-soaked cloth for 2 days. It is recommended to wet the material periodically so that it does not dry out and helps carry out additional seed preparation. Then they are pulled out and placed in cups filled with a fertile mixture to germinate the seedlings. It is better to plant each seed separately to prevent picking cucumbers.

The next step is seed germination. For this:

  • the seeds are buried 5 mm;
  • sprinkle with soil;
  • watered abundantly;
  • put in the sun;
  • cover with gauze or foil.

At times, it is recommended to turn the fabric over so that there is an influx of fresh air. It is also advisable to put a phytolamp or a device with fluorescent light over the seedlings, which is turned on in the morning and evening hours. Careful care of the seedlings allows you to achieve a high yield.

Growing and care

When the seedlings germinate, they are moved to fertile soil in accordance with the scheme. Usually, seedlings are transferred at the end of May or early June. It is recommended to transplant cucumbers with 3-4 leaves.

When choosing a location, you should give preference to sunny and wind-protected areas. The soil should be fertile and permeable, the amount of nitrogen in the ground should be minimal.It is good if tomatoes, perennial grasses or onions grew on the site earlier. Then the cucumbers will quickly take root and receive the necessary set of nutritional components.

The planting pattern is 50x50 cm. This distance will be optimal, and the plants will not "strangle" each other. The procedure for planting cucumbers:

  • the seedlings, together with the soil, are removed from the glass and placed in the prepared hole;
  • the roots are covered with a mixture of humus and fertile soil;
  • 3 liters of moisture are added under each bush.

Next, it is worth taking care of the seedlings so that they take root quickly. First of all, we are talking about watering. The scheme is determined by the stage of development of cucumbers:

  • before the buds appear, it is recommended to apply up to 3 liters of water under the bush once a week;
  • when the first buds or fruits begin to form on the stems, watering should be increased to 6 liters under the bush and the procedure should be carried out every 3 days.

Before watering cucumbers, you need to fill the barrels and settle the liquid. It is better to introduce moisture in the evening so that the plant does not get burned. Also, gardeners recommend avoiding water getting on the leaves. At the end of watering, the soil should be loosened to saturate it with oxygen.

In addition to watering, you should take care of the timely fertilization of the cucumbers. The scheme is standard:

  • the first top dressing is applied only after 2 weeks from the moment of planting in the ground;
  • then the plant is fed when buds begin to appear on the stems;
  • the third stage of dressing occurs during the formation of fruits.

In hot weather, fertilizers applied under the roots will be effective, which will nourish the variety with useful microelements. In cool weather, you can switch to foliar fertilization.

Common types of top dressing varieties.

  1. Mullein or bird droppings solution. Prepared in a ratio of 1: 15, where the latter means liters of water. For 1 square meter there are up to 4 liters of ready-made solution.
  2. Complex fertilizers from organic matter and mineral components. Top dressing is carried out by spraying shoots and leaves. The best time to fertilize a cucumber is in the evening or morning.
  3. Mineral components. If desired, they can also be replaced with wood ash, which is poured with water a day before application.

Finally, in order to obtain a bountiful harvest, it is worth taking care of the formation of the bush. The variety has a slight tendency to branching, so you don't have to put in much effort. It is enough to take care only of those shoots that are at the height of the 3rd leaf, pinching the ovaries and stepsons.

Cucumbers begin to require a garter during the period of active growth. Timely carrying out of the procedure will avoid overgrowing of shoots and simplify care. You can tie the cucumber to wooden or plastic supports.

In order to collect strong, tasty and beautiful cucumbers on your site, you need to make top dressing. Lack of nutrients can negatively affect the appearance of the plant and significantly reduce the yield. Fertilize cucumbers with organic fertilizers in combination with mineral fertilizers. With the right balance of these components and adherence to the fertilizing schedule, the cucumber yield will be maximum.

Disease and pest resistance

The Uhazher variety is distinguished by strong immunity, therefore it is not exposed to any types of rot and dew. However, this does not mean that as it grows, external factors cannot have a negative impact on the plant. Therefore, gardeners are advised to carry out preventive treatment of the variety with special preparations, among the common ones:

  • Fitosoprin;
  • Oxyhom;
  • "Topaz".

Before use, it is worth studying the instructions for using the formulations.Compliance with a number of recommendations will help reduce the risk of developing diseases:

  • accounting for crop rotation;
  • careful selection of seeds;
  • timely watering in the required volume;
  • regular airing of greenhouses.

Also, folk remedies are used in the fight. You can periodically spray the cucumbers with garlic-based tinctures. Soap split into small pieces can be added to the soil.

The pungent smell of garlic and onions will scare away insects such as aphids, thrips, or spider mites. The pests will not disturb the variety, and the plant will produce a bountiful harvest.

Despite their popularity, cucumbers are often attacked by diseases and pests. From them, cucumber plantings often die before the start of fruiting. In order to prevent this from happening, it is necessary to try to prevent ailments or get rid of them at the very beginning, having studied in detail their causes of occurrence, signs and methods of treatment.
