Cucumbers are one of the most favorite types of vegetable crops for gardeners on numerous subsidiary farms. They are often grown in greenhouses, and city dwellers create a small vegetable garden from these plants on the balcony. Many different varieties of cucumber have been bred, and every farmer or hobby grower has plenty to choose from with yielding hybrids suited to local conditions.

Breeding history

Cucumber of the variety Buchkovoye Splendor F1 was bred in 2013 by the Ural specialists in the cultivation of agricultural crops. When creating a new hybrid, breeders focused mainly on growing cucumbers in difficult weather conditions in Siberia and the Urals. A variety with a bunch-shaped ovary was obtained by crossing two original varieties with qualities suitable for breeding.

Description of the variety

Tufted splendor is one of the finest hybrid cucumber varieties that are in the Magnificent Five of the most yielding varieties. The high fertility of cucumber bushes is explained by the fact that greens grow in bunches, forming whole bouquets or bunches in the area of the nodes. Due to the high saturation of one plant with fruits, it can give a yield equal to 10 bushes of traditional hybrids.

The variety has shown itself perfectly when grown in open beds, in light, small greenhouses and stationary glazed greenhouses. Cucumbers Bunch splendor are endowed with such a high vitality that they continue to bear fruit perfectly even in areas located in unfavorable lowland areas, where there are often sudden temperature changes and cold morning fogs. Early maturing F1 hybrids obtained by crossing the first generation cannot be propagated by seeds collected on the site, since they do not retain the qualities of the parent plants.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and zelents

Strong-looking shrubs of Beam splendor develop quickly and form in the axils of leaves from 3 to 7 ovaries at a time. Cucumbers are of the gherkin type, since their average length does not exceed 11 cm. The tips of the fruits are narrowed on both sides, and the color of the fruits is light green, with longitudinal stripes of a lighter tone. Zelentsy are covered with small tubercles with white thorns.

Purpose and taste of fruits

Hybrid cucumbers have excellent taste with a pronounced aroma of cucumber greens. They do not contain bitterness, and the pulp has a sweet, juicy and delicate taste. At the same time, the fruits are quite dense and crunch when biting off not only fresh, but when salted and preserved.

Maturation

All ovaries on bushes of the Buchkovoe Splendor variety are female and self-pollinated. The hybrid does not require insect or human intervention to produce fruit. The properties of an early maturing plant appear when the first greens appear on the bushes 45-50 days after planting the seeds. To speed up the harvest, the seeds are pre-germinated and then watered regularly.

Yield

Due to the parthenocarpic qualities of the bundle variety, it is able to delight gardeners with surprisingly high yields - up to 40 kg of cucumbers can be harvested from 1 square meter per season. The bushes bear fruit until late autumn, until the cold comes, but the grown gherkins should be removed regularly to avoid their overgrowth and decrease in yield.

Growing and care

In order to enjoy the first harvest from the garden as early as possible in the season, the seeds of cucumbers must be germinated and disinfected before planting. To do this, it is enough to hold them for 15-20 minutes in a solution of salt or potassium permanganate, and then spread them in one layer between two pieces of dense and damp cloth. Covering an impromptu nursery with plastic wrap, it is left for 2-3 days in a warm place.

Seeds with sprouted sprouts are placed in peat tablets or pots. To grow cucumber seedlings, you can use containers that are filled with soil as part of black soil, humus, lime and mineral fertilizers. Seeds with sprouts are buried in the soil by 1-2 cm, and the container with soil is covered with glass or film to obtain a greenhouse effect.

Periodically, the soil with seedlings is watered and sprayed, and when two real leaves appear, it is ready for planting in open ground. This technique allows you to get the first greens 2 weeks earlier than when sowing seeds directly in the garden.

It is recommended to transplant cucumber seedlings into the ground after sunset, along with a peat pot or a lump of soil from a container. On 1 square meter of soil, you can place no more than a couple of bushes so that they have enough lighting and ventilation.

The variety Beam splendor is quite resistant to diseases and pests of the crop, but it must be sprayed with folk remedies for feeding and prevention, as well as regularly watering and forming the bushes into one stem, removing side shoots.

In order to collect strong, tasty and beautiful cucumbers on your site, you need to make top dressing. Lack of nutrients can negatively affect the appearance of the plant and significantly reduce the yield. Fertilize cucumbers with organic fertilizers in combination with mineral fertilizers. With the right balance of these components and adherence to the fertilizing schedule, the cucumber yield will be maximum.

Despite their popularity, cucumbers are often attacked by diseases and pests. From them, cucumber plantings often die before the start of fruiting. In order to prevent this from happening, it is necessary to try to prevent ailments or get rid of them at the very beginning, having studied in detail their causes of occurrence, signs and methods of treatment.
