Cucumbers of the hybrid variety Nasha Masha can be considered ideal for harvesting for the winter. Neat short greens retain their crispness and taste, even if you open a jar of pickles after a year. At the same time, the culture when growing is undemanding, hardy, stress-resistant, with strong immunity.

Breeding history

Our Masha is a bright representative of the author's selection of the Mashtakovs. Alexey Alekseevich Mashtakov is a well-known domestic breeder from Rostov-on-Don. He is the author and originator of numerous varieties and hybrids of tomatoes and cucumbers, which have long settled and are successfully cultivated on personal household plots, in farms for the industrial production of vegetables. The whole family works at the Mashtakovs' experimental station, which occupies several hectares on the banks of the Don in the Rostov region. The application for the admission of the cucumber hybrid Nasha Masha was submitted in 2006, and a year later the crop was included in the state register of breeding achievements in the Russian Federation for growing under cover of film in personal subsidiary farms.

Description of the variety

An early ripening hybrid Our Masha belongs to parthenocarpic cultures. This means that the plant produces female-type flowers. Beam fruit formation. The hybrid is distinguished by rich yields, which ripen together, a high percentage of fruit set. Cucumbers have excellent taste and marketability. Our Masha demonstrates resistance to root rot, powdery mildew.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and zelents

The described plant is indeterminate, the main stem is high, reaching one and a half to two meters. A bush of medium branching. Each node is formed from 3 female flowers. The foliage is green, medium in size.

Short greens of the hybrid Our Masha have the same short neck. The fruit has a deep green color with short stripes. The shape is elongated-cylindrical, tubercles are observed, pubescence is brown. The weight of one cucumber is 70 g, the length is 8-10 centimeters, and the diameter is about 3 centimeters. The skin is quite elastic.

Purpose and taste of fruits

According to many who have tried the fruits of the described cucumbers, they taste excellent. Many consider these to be the sweetest gherkin type hybrids. Their purpose is universal: salads, canning, salting.

A peculiarity of the culture is the fact that after the salting procedure, as well as heat treatment, the cucumbers will retain their elasticity and characteristic crunch, and will not lose their aroma.

Maturation

The first harvest of cucumbers will come 43 days after the full germination of the hybrid variety.

Yield

The culture is considered to be high yielding. On average, 16.2 kilograms of gherkins are removed from 1 square meter of the plantation.

Growing regions

The hybrid is zoned in several regions of the Russian Federation, such as North and North-West, as well as Central, Volgo-Vyatka. The culture can be grown in the North Caucasus, the Middle Volga, in the Central Black Earth Region.

Growing and care

The described cucumbers ripen best in black earth or medium loamy soil. The variety prefers moderately moist, aerated and loose soil. For planting a crop, it is worth allocating land on the site, which will be well lit, but at the same time protected from wind and drafts.

Seeds of cucumbers Our Masha are sown for seedlings in early April. Since this is a hybrid, the planting material does not need to be processed before planting, it is already disinfected and processed by seed producers. It is better to use peat tablets for planting. 1 seed is placed in each, deepening it by 2 cm. After 23-24 days, the seedlings of Our Masha will reach maturity, at the same time 3 leaves will appear on the sprouts.

The grown seedlings are transferred to a permanent place on a warm, windless day (but not sultry). If there has been no rain for 5 days before, the ground should be slightly moistened.

A hybrid is placed in the garden according to the scheme of 3-4 bushes on an area of 1 square meter. The optimal distance between the rows is 35-40 cm, between the bushes - 60-65 cm. If the spring is cold, it is worth covering the planting film for about a week at night.

It is not difficult to form a bush of Our Masha, it will be enough to pinch the top at a height of 1.3-1.4 m, and then tie the vine to the trellis or net.

Our Masha consumes moisture moderately. Therefore, it is necessary to water the culture after 3-4 days. The frequency of watering is adjusted depending on weather conditions and the level of precipitation. The procedure is carried out in the early morning, under the root, avoiding water getting on the stems and young leaves.

When feeding the hybrid, Nasha Masha uses organic mixtures filled with nutrients, alternating with mineral fertilizers.

In order to collect strong, tasty and beautiful cucumbers on your site, you need to make top dressing. Lack of nutrients can negatively affect the appearance of the plant and significantly reduce the yield. Fertilize cucumbers with organic fertilizers in combination with mineral fertilizers. With the right balance of these components and adherence to the fertilizing schedule, the cucumber yield will be maximum.

Disease and pest resistance

Cucumbers of the culture in question perfectly resist almost all common diseases. Our Masha is almost not affected by peronosporosis, powdery mildew, mosaic. Insects can attack plants in the open field or in a very cramped and waterlogged greenhouse.

Despite their popularity, cucumbers are often attacked by diseases and pests. From them, cucumber plantings often die before the start of fruiting. In order to prevent this from happening, it is necessary to try to prevent ailments or get rid of them at the very beginning, having studied in detail their causes of occurrence, signs and methods of treatment.
