Description of the variety

The described variety is very productive. It is zoned into seven main Russian regions. Producers claim that the variety grows well both outdoors and indoors.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and zelents

The bush is small, branching is weak. In this case, determinant lateral shoots can form. Leaves are medium in size and do not create much shade.

Ovaries are formed by the type of bunches, in a knot there are from 3 to 7 pieces. All buds are female, bright yellow, and barren flowers are not formed on the bush. Cucumber Mama's pet belongs to parthenocarpic plants that can form fruits without insect pollination.

Zelentsy are formed short and small, like gherkins. The average length is 8-10 cm. The shape of the fruit is cylindrical. Weight - 90-130 g. The color of the peel is usually dark green, with short oblong stripes. And also on the skin tubercles are formed, which are located tightly to each other. The variety belongs to the universal type, therefore, greens can be consumed fresh, used in the preparation of salads, first or second courses, as well as salted and canned. Once harvested, the fruit can be stored for up to 14 days in a cool and dry place.

Yield

Growing and care

Like any other variety, Mamen's pet cucumbers can be planted in a seedling and non-seedling way. Each gardener chooses a method based on the weather conditions and the characteristics of the region. The planting of cucumbers should be in May.

The site for the future plantation should be sunny, protected from strong drafts, while it is important to maintain sufficient air circulation. If the cucumbers are to be grown in an open area, it is necessary to make a shading mesh that can be used to create shade in the summer heat.

The acidity of the soil should be between 5 and 7 pH on average. The selected area is prepared in advance, preferably in the fall. It is necessary to fill the soil with useful substances, so the earth is dug up together with manure or compost.

Culture care is as follows.

  • Watering. Irrigation is best done 2-3 times a week or more. For this, warm and settled water is suitable. It is recommended to apply the liquid exclusively at the root. The best time to water is evening. At this moment, the sun will already be in an inactive phase, and even if water gets on the leaves, the risks of burns are minimized.
  • Tying bushes and shaping. For a garter, use a dense rope or twine. Each shoot is neatly tied around and tied at a height of 1 to 1.5 m.
  • Top dressing. Cucumbers are recommended to be fed 2-4 times per season, since before planting seedlings, the soil is saturated with a large amount of organic matter. For fertilizers, manure, bird droppings, peat, wood ash, as well as potassium sulfate, nitrophoska, ammofoska, manganese and potassium are used.
  • Hilling. Carried out after watering. It is necessary in order to break down the top dry layer of the earth for oxygen to enter the soil. Loosening removes all weeds.
  • Preventive spraying. Although the variety is early maturing, but with improper care it can be attacked by powdery mildew or mosaic. Therefore, in order to avoid fungal diseases or pests, it is best to spray the bushes with special preparations 1-2 times per season.
