The Quadrille cucumber is a high-yielding hybrid with the following characteristics:

  • bushes are medium in size;

  • leaves - large, pentagon-shaped, emerald hue;

  • flowers are small, bright yellow.

Bouquet ovaries are formed, up to 8-10 ovaries are formed in one bosom.

  • weight - up to 100 g.

In diameter, cucumbers reach 3.2 cm. The skin of the fruit is quite elastic, which makes it possible to transport fruits over long distances. On the surface of the peel, there are small thorns and rare white pubescence.

Purpose and taste of fruits

Quadrille cucumbers have a rather delicate flesh and a pleasant sweet and sour taste with a pronounced aroma. The fruit has no bitterness, so cucumbers are ideal both for fresh consumption and for making marinades or salads in the summer.

Maturation

The first crop ripens after 38-40 days from the moment the seedlings are planted in the ground. Cucumber Quadrille belongs to the group of early ripening plants.

Yield

The average crop yield reaches 10.4-11.3 kg / m2. When growing a cucumber in the open field, it drops slightly: from one square meter it is possible to collect up to 9-10 kg.

Growing and caring

The square dance is planted in the ground with seedlings. Before this, the seeds are thoroughly prepared.

  1. Selection. The seeds are soaked in a saline solution and those that have floated to the surface are removed.

  2. Disinfection. The inoculum is placed in a solution of potassium permanganate or other disinfecting composition to strengthen the immunity of the cucumber.

  3. Germination. Before planting in prepared containers, seeds are germinated in gauze soaked in a growth stimulator.

Next, the seeds are placed in small cups filled with peat, deepening by 2 cm. After planting, the earth is watered abundantly, adding liquid every other day. They begin to transplant into the ground after the emergence of two leaves on the seedlings. Usually, the procedure is carried out around the middle of May. Landing conditions.

  1. The soil should warm up to 15-16 degrees.

  2. The distance between the seedlings should be 30 cm.

  3. The distance between the rows is 70 cm.

  4. Planting depth - 5-6 cm.

After the seedlings need to be sprinkled with earth and watered abundantly. The advantage of the variety is that it will take root even in harsh conditions and give a rich harvest. However, in order to achieve optimal performance, it is worth taking care of timely care.

  1. Watering. A developed root system requires regular irrigation with water. On average, the Quadrille is watered every 3 days, in drought - every 2 days. It is recommended to add cool water that has been settled for a quarter of an hour into the ground. The procedure is best done in the morning, trying not to hurt the leaves and stems.

  2. Loosening.It is carried out every time after watering in order to nourish the roots with oxygen and nutrients, as well as accelerate growth and fruiting.

  3. Top dressing. Cucumbers are usually fertilized three times a season. The first time feeding is applied during the period of active growth. Then fertilizers are used during flowering and fruiting. Organic compounds are more often used, for example, humus or urea solution.

And also cucumbers are tied up using pegs and threads that are stretched between them. The garter is carried out when the bush reaches a height of 20 cm.

Soil requirements

Cucumber Quadrille is rather unpretentious to growing conditions. Basic recommendations for choosing a place for planting a plant.

  1. Preference should be given to sunny places that are not exposed to drafts.

  2. The best solution would be to plant the variety in a greenhouse.

  3. A cucumber will grow well where legumes, tomatoes or potatoes were previously fruitful.

  4. The neighbors of the variety can be: peas, corn, sunflower or onions.

  5. The soil should be mildly acidic. If necessary, you can raise the pH value using special fertilizers.

  6. When choosing a soil, preference should be given to black soil or sandy loam.

It is not recommended to plant cucumbers near tomatoes or potatoes.

In order to collect strong, tasty and beautiful cucumbers on your site, you need to make top dressing. Lack of nutrients can negatively affect the appearance of the plant and significantly reduce the yield. Fertilize cucumbers with organic fertilizers in combination with mineral fertilizers. With the right balance of these components and adherence to the fertilizing schedule, the cucumber yield will be maximum.

Disease and pest resistance

The Quadrille hybrid is resistant to most pests and diseases. The plant is not affected by:

  • powdery mildew;

  • olive spot;

  • peronosporosis;

  • root rot.

However, this does not mean that the cucumber cannot get sick. It is often attacked by parasitic insects, which can be prevented by timely preventive treatment. As drugs that strengthen the immune system, use "Biotlin", "Tanrek" and other products that can be bought in a gardening store.

Despite their popularity, cucumbers are often attacked by diseases and pests. From them, cucumber plantings often die before the start of fruiting.
