A hybrid called General'skiy was developed by the specialists of the agricultural firm "Uralskiy Dachnik". Gardeners were immediately attracted by its ability to bear fruit abundantly, lasting until late autumn.

Description of the variety

The parthenocarpic variety Generalskiy has female-type flowers. Self-pollination allows it to reproduce without attracting insects. The variety is suitable for growing both outdoors and under a film cover. The General's hybrid tolerates unfavorable climatic conditions well, and is also capable of developing in the shade, due to which it bears fruit in the autumn period. The culture's good immunity protects it from the most common diseases.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and zelents

The length of the main shoot of Generalskiy cucumbers can exceed 2 meters. Their lateral lashes develop poorly, and therefore do not interfere with fruit set. However, this happens only until the end of the harvest season, and then the lateral shoots begin to grow actively. This self-regulating development greatly simplifies the care of the plant, since the lateral shoots practically do not have to be pinched. In one node of a vigorous plant, a large number of ovaries is formed - from 10 to 12 pieces.

The length of zelents of the Generalskiy variety reaches 10-12 centimeters. The diameter of the gherkin type fruit usually does not exceed 3 centimeters, and the weight ranges from 80 to 90 grams. The dense skin of the cucumber is colored dark green and covered with large tubercles.

Purpose and taste of fruits

The dense and crunchy flesh of Generalskiy cucumbers has an excellent taste. Proper care of the crop avoids the appearance of voids, and the absence of bitter notes is genetically determined. The fruits are actively used raw, and are also used in the creation of all kinds of preparations, including by salting and canning. The refreshing aroma of cucumbers is also a clear benefit.

Maturation

When choosing a seedling method of growing, the first cucumbers of the Generalsky variety can be harvested already in June. This type of culture belongs to the early maturing. Its fruiting is quite long: outdoors until late autumn, and even longer in the greenhouse.

Yield

The General's variety is considered a high-yielding variety: a gardener can collect almost 35-40 kilograms of fruit per square meter. The advantage is that several cucumbers ripen in each bunch at the same time.

Growing and care

It will be possible to grow a hybrid both by seedling method and with the help of seeds. If a gardener plans to get seedlings, then he should sow seeds in April. It is better to distribute the grains in peat pots or plastic cups with a volume of 300 to 500 milliliters. If the cucumbers develop in individual containers, then in the future they will not need a dive, which means that the still weak root system will not be damaged. The containers are filled with a mixture of garden soil, peat, sand and humus, after which 1-2 seeds are sown in each.

Sowing seeds immediately into the ground is carried out from May to June, depending on climatic conditions. It should be carried out in such a way that for each square meter there are no more than a couple of cucumbers.Even before planting the material, the soil will need to be fed with humus or compost, as well as mineral fertilizers. The grains are distributed over the holes, and then they are covered with earth and tightened with a film.

Seedlings on open or closed ground are transferred in May, when the soil temperature no longer drops below +15 degrees. The cucumber will bear fruit more abundantly in well-lit areas, but, in principle, it will be able to develop in the shade. Peat pots are buried right along with the roots, and in the case of plastic containers, transshipment is carried out.

Caring for Generalskiy cucumbers is simple, but should be regular. Plants should be watered at least once a week with plenty of water warmed up to +28 degrees. It is better to carry out the procedure in the morning, so that high humidity remains in the garden throughout the day. The stream of liquid should be directed strictly under the root, without leaving drops on the leaf blades.

In rainy weeks, it is better to reduce the frequency and amount of irrigation, and increase accordingly during drought. While the fruits are developing, the bushes need about 20 liters per square meter, and the rest of the time, a smaller volume is enough for cucumbers.

The formation of the bush begins before transshipment, if necessary. In the future, corrective procedures are carried out twice a week: the ovaries and lateral shoots coming from the sinuses of the lower leaves are removed. I must say that the design of cucumber lashes is necessary mainly in a greenhouse, and in the open field they can be left to develop naturally. Fertilization is organized at the moment when the first ovaries have already developed. The Generalsky variety is most suitable for balanced mineral complexes, as well as solutions of manure and chicken droppings.

In order to collect strong, tasty and beautiful cucumbers on your site, you need to make top dressing. Lack of nutrients can negatively affect the appearance of the plant and significantly reduce the yield. Fertilize cucumbers with organic fertilizers in combination with mineral fertilizers. With the right balance of these components and adherence to the fertilizing schedule, the cucumber yield will be maximum.

Despite their popularity, cucumbers are often attacked by diseases and pests. From them, cucumber plantings often die before the start of fruiting. In order to prevent this from happening, it is necessary to try to prevent ailments or get rid of them at the very beginning, having studied in detail their causes of occurrence, signs and methods of treatment.
