Cucumber White Snake

White snake is a rather unusual variety of cucumbers, and this primarily concerns its appearance. This Chinese variety was bred quite recently, but has already managed to attract the attention of summer residents who regularly try all the new products.

Lettuce hybrid White snake is another creation of the well-known company "Aelita". The work was carried out by Kachainik, Gulkin and Golovko. The date of entering the variety into the State Register is 2020.

The cucumber variety with the beautiful name White Snake belongs to the early varieties. Its main feature is one hundred percent germination. Among other advantages, summer residents note a high yield, an interesting appearance. Cucumbers adapt to different weather conditions, including the heat. It is not difficult to grow them. However, this variety does not tolerate improper harvesting. If the fruits hang on the lashes for a long time, they will overripe and become tasteless. In addition, they will not allow new zelents to form.

Plants of the White Snake variety are characterized by increased growth. Their type is indeterminate. The scourges of the bushes are incredibly long, but they branch relatively weakly. The foliage is large, of an ordinary green color. The flowering is mixed, but summer residents claim that female flowers still prevail in it. As a rule, there are two of them in a node.

The fruits have an unusual appearance. They have an elongated cylindrical shape, and such cucumbers are very long and thin. The length of the green is 30-35 centimeters, the diameter is about 3 cm. The color of the peel is very light, even lighter than light green. The tips of the fruits are even more elongated, and they also have a very light color. On the surface of the thin peel, there are many tubercles with whitish thorns. Zelentsy weigh 150-170 g.

The white snake is a pretty tasty variety. Zelentsy have a pleasant taste, fresh and bright aroma. Can be eaten fresh or used in salads. Not suitable for canning and other preparations. This variety is intended for fresh consumption.

Cucumber varieties are very prolific and require a lot of nutrition. Therefore, the maximum number of seedlings per square meter is 2.

Seeds planted for seedlings are sown towards the end of the second decade of April. Grains are planted in the ground after May 15. They equip trellis in advance for tying long cucumber lashes. This is done both in greenhouses and outdoors.

If the culture was grown by the seedling method, then it is worth taking out the seedlings into open ground only after the latter has warmed up to +15 degrees. The bottom of the planting hole must be covered with a layer of manure and spilled with warm water. The resulting mixture is sprinkled with a dry substrate so that the manure does not burn the roots.

Watering the White Snake is carried out in the evenings, for this they take water, which has been in the sun since the morning. Drops should not be allowed to fall on the leaves. Cucumbers are irrigated regularly, as the top layer dries up. Usually it is once every two days, in the heat - twice a day. After irrigation with a pitchfork, they harrow the soil, letting oxygen to the roots.

The feeding regime is the same as for other varieties of cucumbers. It will be obligatory to introduce both organic and mineral compositions. The White snake gratefully responds to feeding with ash, infusions of green herbs, mullein. Of the minerals, complex mixtures are used with an emphasis on superphosphate. During the growing season, the variety is fed at least three times.

The white snake prefers black earth and rapidly heating substrates. It grows especially well on land where there were potatoes or tomatoes last year. The fertility of the soil is improved with manure, which is brought in in the fall along with digging. Chinese cucumber can also grow on sandy loam, loamy lands. But here he will give less zelents.

Chinese cucumber does not react to cold and heat, continuing to bear fruit smoothly and well. It is one of the few hybrids that tolerates shade well. Therefore, it will be easy to choose a place for him on the site.

Like all artificially bred varieties, the White Snake has excellent immunity. Bushes only get sick with poor care or in an overly rainy summer. Then they can be affected by powdery mildew and root rot. Insects rarely flock to the bushes. Slugs, which crawl between the beds and gnaw at the root system, are more annoying.
