An increasing number of people are now installing their own personal pool in the country or in a private house. There are many models on the market - both stationary and collapsible (inflatable). But in order for bathing in such an artificial reservoir to be only a joy and not entail health problems, it is necessary to resolve the issue of water filtration during the installation process. This will allow you to enjoy all the advantages of the pool without fear.

Peculiarities

Why do you need to organize water treatment? Intex pool filters perform the following functions:

  • elimination of blue-green and other types of algae from the water;
  • removal of organic matter, which is very often the cause of the appearance of mosquitoes, midges, since their larvae live in the water;
  • effective water purification from allergens;
  • elimination of extraneous odors and turbidity from the water.

The listed basic functions of all water filters are basic. But the manufacturer Intex, taking care of its customers, releases models that have a number of additional advantages, such as:

  • Jacuzzi effect;
  • special devices for creating waterfalls;
  • equipping with additional cleaning elements (fine cleaning, chlorine generator, skimmer).

Thanks to such functions, you can use the pool to the maximum, getting real comfort and safety. The principle of operation of all filters for water in swimming pools is similar and looks as follows.

  1. Water enters the system through a large mesh skimmer. This is necessary in order to retain the largest debris and prevent it from getting inside the filter.
  2. Then the water enters the cleaning chamber... This is where medium-sized debris is retained.
  3. Then water is supplied to the main filter of the pumpwhere small particles of debris, organic matter and pathogenic microbes and the smallest suspended matter are removed.
  4. The last step clean filtered water is returned to the pool through the outlet hose.

Note! In order for the cleaning system to work efficiently, water intake and outlet are installed on opposite sides of the bowl.

And for hygienic reasons, the water in any, even a small pool, should be filtered at least 3 times.

Variety of assortment

Depending on the individual needs of the owner of the pool, as well as on the size of the bowl and water parameters, it is necessary to choose the appropriate type of cleaning devices. Drainage systems for the pool from the Intex company are presented in the following types.

Sand

These filters are not a budget option, they are most often used in large, frame models of pools. The filter contains quartz of various fractions. The effect directly depends on the size of the particles, that is, the finer the silica sand in the device, the smaller the debris can be retained. Sand perfectly filters not only dirt, but also biological particles, silt and algae. The sand filter consists of:

  • pump;
  • positioning valves;
  • pressure gauge.

The most popular model of Intex sand filter is 26646. Its advantages:

  • the presence of a timer that allows you to fully automate the cleaning process;
  • cleaning capacity - 7.9 m3 per hour;
  • quartz sand has a long service life (3-5 years).

Suitable for most pool models, easy to install.

Important! For sand filters, quartz is purchased separately, as it is not included in the standard delivery set and is a consumable item.

Installing the Intex 26646 filter pump will also require the purchase of inlet and outlet plunger valves.

Cartridge

This is the most inexpensive and very popular option for pool filters. Consists of an opaque, plastic flask, inside which there is a cleaning element with a container for collecting waste.

Note! In cartridge filters, it is necessary to change the drainage element quite often (several times a year, usually at least 2 times), since they quickly become dirty and become unusable.

However, it is possible to extend the life of the cartridge by regularly cleaning the "insides" of the filter from debris.

Cartridge models perfectly retain even small organic debris and allergens. The devices are compact, durable, exclude backwashing, which means that the filtered debris will not fall back into the pool. But the main disadvantage is that the filters will have to be changed frequently.

Popular Intex cartridge models are the 28602 and 28604. When purchasing replacement filters, follow the manufacturer's directions. Despite the external similarity of the two models, the drains are not interchangeable for them. Other devices for water purification are also worth noting.

Skimmers

This is a device for removing large debris from the surface of the water - hair, branches, leaves and insects. The device has a very simple design and looks like a funnel with a mesh through which drainage is carried out. Usually, skimmers are supplemented with pumps, which can increase the efficiency of the device. In addition to surface-mounted skimmers, submersible, deep-sea models are used for large stationary pools, and some devices are equipped with a built-in pump for pumping water.

Advice! Without installing a pump, you can increase the efficiency of the skimmer by installing several devices in different parts of the pool. This will increase the cleaning power.

Chlorine generators

This device is mounted not so much for cleaning debris, how much to disinfect water from bacteria that can be dangerous to the human body. The device allows you to forget about the classic water chlorination. All chlorine generators are identical in appearance and represent a flask with a disinfecting element and a pump. Intex offers model 26668. The model is able to fight the appearance of moss, mucus and keep water from bacteria and mud. The device has touch control and a timer for automatic system operation.

How to choose?

You should be very responsible when choosing a filter, especially for a children's pool. Indeed, not only the external purity of the water, but also its safety for health will directly depend on this. After all, some bacteria feel great in water, and getting into the human body can cause serious infectious diseases. In addition, children can very often swallow water when bathing, so it is much easier to take care of the biological purity of the water in advance.

To choose the perfect filter, the professionals advise the following.

  1. Consider the location of the pool. For outdoor pools, sand filters are great. Cartridge types can be used both outdoors and indoors.
  2. Plan how often the pool will be used. The less often they swim in it, the less powerful filter can be installed, that is, it will be possible to save a lot on this.
  3. The volume of the pool bowl. The power of the filter also depends on it. In the classic recommendations, the volume of the thicket is multiplied by a factor of 2.5 and divided by 10. The value obtained should be looked at when choosing the power of the drainage device in the store.
  4. The flow rate through the filter. This parameter depends on the volume of the bowl and on the intensity of use of the pool and is very important. If the flow rate of the water is insufficient, the water will not be effectively purified.
  5. Preferred mounting method... Typically, cartridge models are installed on the sides of the pool, while sandy ones are located next to the pool.
  6. Remember the recommended number of cleaning cycles - at least 3 in 24 hours.

Guided by these recommendations, you can easily and unjustified overpayments to choose the optimal filter model for the pool.

How to use?

Swimming pool filters are usually straightforward to operate. Both modern and old models are very easy to maintain and install. No special knowledge is required to connect most drainage devices. It is enough to follow the manufacturer's recommendations specified in the instructions. So, when connecting cartridge models, everything you need for installation is already in the package. It is enough to assemble the device according to the drawing, connect the hoses and install it on the selected side of the pool.

For sand devices, you will need to purchase some elements, in particular: quartz sand and plunger valves. The device is assembled, valves are connected to the hoses, then the filter is filled with quartz sand, the device is installed in the selected place. You can also use a filter to drain the water. Most drainage devices have several modes of operation, including those designed to drain and backwash the system.

By using the right pool filter, you don't have to change the water frequently. It will only need to be drained when cleaning the pool for long-term storage. The choice of a filtration unit for a pool is a very important step. The main thing is to think over all the nuances in advance and follow the basic recommendations, and then the water procedures will only bring benefits and positive emotions.
