Description

The dorenboz snowberry is a plant that came to us from the Netherlands... The ornamental shrub is characterized by compactness, unpretentious maintenance and incredibly attractive appearance. In favorable conditions, the shrub grows to a height of 80-100 cm, extremely rarely up to 130-150 cm.The plant has a rather spreading crown, hanging, slightly elongated branches, growing semi-horizontally shoots, as well as abundant foliage with emerald-green foliage.

A distinctive feature of the plant is the arrangement of inflorescences along almost the entire length of the brushes.... Flowers are collected in neat inflorescences. Separately, the flowers are absolutely inconspicuous, but their mass on shrubs during the flowering period is simply impressive. During this period, the plant is incredibly beautiful and elegant. The bloom palette is limited to white and pink shades. The shrub blooms for 2 months - from May to July.

By autumn, the ovary and the formation of spherical fruits occurs. The berries look like porcelain beads of different sizes (average diameter 10 mm). The berries, collected in neat rounded bunches, hang on the branches for a long time - they are not afraid of leaf fall, various weather surprises, frosts. The berries are inedible, but not harmful, and rarely attract the attention of birds. Ball-shaped beads hang almost until the end of winter.

Today, the Dutch shrub is represented by many varieties, which have their own growing characteristics, characteristic external differences.

Continuing the chain of crosses, scientists were able to breed different varieties of the dorenboz snowberry. Let's list the brightest and most popular.

Growing conditions

Dorenboza snowberry is a very stress-resistant plant, therefore it easily adapts to growing conditions. Moreover, he resistant to frost and prolonged heat... It is comfortable for the shrub to grow in a sunny area in nutritious soils, but the plant will tolerate light shade. The most suitable are sandy loam and loamy fertile soils, which are good for moisture and air.

Planting the plant is carried out in a pre-prepared hole with walls 50-60 cm. The distance between plantings should be at least 1 meter, since the shrub is very voluminous.

The plant does not require special care, a single spring feeding with mineral fertilizers is enough, and weeding and plowing of the soil is carried out only in the first year after planting. Form bushes as desired.

Reproduction

Dorenboza snowberry is a hybrid form, therefore it is grown mainly vegetatively. There are three ways to grow an ornamental plant.

  • Separation of mature bushes... This is possible if the shrub is more than 4-5 years old.
  • By cuttings... Before the procedure, the cuttings are treated with growth stimulants.
  • Root offspring.

Of the three listed methods, it is the division of the bush into several parts that is considered the most effective and simplest, even for inexperienced gardeners.
