For the efficient and high-quality performance of the assigned tasks, it is necessary to choose the right construction wheelbarrow.

Advantages

The bogie modification, assuming the presence of two wheels, has indisputable advantages over a one-wheeled tool. Two wheels are two points of support that make the process of moving loads easier... Such a cart is not subject to lateral roll when loaded. This means less effort is required to manage it. A one-wheel car is prone to lateral roll due to gravity. The leader needs to apply not only pushing efforts, but also holding ones.

The disadvantage of a two-wheeled car is its reduced cross-country ability.

The two wheels create two points of resistance to movement. In this case, the operator must use his weight and apply significant pushing forces in order to move the wheelbarrow from its place.

When choosing wheels, you need to pay attention to:

  • the mechanism of their attachment.

The diameter of the wheels directly affects the efficiency when working with the trolley. The small size of the diameter allows you to move a load with a large weight, applying less effort. The disadvantage of such wheels is a low cross-country rate. If the wheelbarrow is used to transport goods on loose, wet, sandy or rocky soil, the propellers will get stuck in the soil or abut against stones.

Larger wheels have better flotation properties... On a wheelbarrow equipped with them, it is easier to overcome obstacles on the way - the wheels do not get stuck in the mud, large stones are overcome without difficulty. The duration of the operating process is influenced by the mechanism for attaching the wheels to the frame. The best conditions for attachment are created by the presence of bearings at the points of contact of the wheel axle with the frame drums... The absence of rotating elements causes increased friction at the moment of loading and reduces the service life of the entire mechanism.

The construction trolley undercarriage will last longer if it has cast wheels. This type of wheel rim is the most resistant to the loads created when the wheelbarrow body is filled with loads.

Frame

The frame part of the construction wheelbarrow is the basis of the entire structure. Its elements take on 80% of the load exerted in different planes. The vertical load is proportional to the weight of the transported cargo. The more weight, the more load... Therefore, when choosing a wheelbarrow, it is worth comparing the characteristics of its frame with the target nature of the work that needs to be done with its help.

Particular attention is paid to the welded joints of the frame elements. They should not have cracks, chipped "shells"... The presence of these shortcomings is a warning about the low quality of the publication and a characteristic decrease in the service life. The construction trolley handles are the part of the frame that takes on the load for deformation and twisting.

A sign of quality and the likelihood of long-term operation is the presence of a reinforcing bridge between the handles. It prevents the torsional force from deforming the handle parts at the moment of lateral overturning of the loaded wheelbarrow.

Side material

The body of the construction trolley must be made of lightweight and durable material. The best equivalent is an aluminum alloy body with a thickness of 0.5 to 0.8 mm. A mandatory property of the sides and "floor" of the body is the presence of molded reinforcements - special longitudinal bends that represent a failure of the stiffener.

When choosing a wheelbarrow, it is important to be able to distinguish between building and gardening. The first is designed for the transportation of heavy "aggressive" cargo - concrete, blocks, stones and others. The second is for moving light loads: earth, leaves, and others.
