The Prorab motor cultivator is a popular type of agricultural machinery and is a serious competitor to expensive walk-behind tractors. The popularity of the models is due to their high performance, versatility and low price.

Peculiarities

Prorab motor cultivators are manufactured by a Chinese company that specializes in the production of small-scale mechanization products for agricultural needs. The company's products are of high quality assembly, use of excellent materials and certified components. This allows the company to compete on equal terms with many European manufacturers and supply high-quality and durable equipment to the international market. Unlike the products of world-renowned companies, Prorab models are inexpensive.

This is due to extremely cheap labor, but not in any way the low quality of the units produced.

The field of application of cultivators is quite wide: the units are actively used to cultivate plots, hilling potatoes and beans, forming beds, cutting furrows, pumping liquids and transporting small loads. The cultivator is compatible with most types of modern attachments, so, as a rule, there are no problems with its equipment. In addition, almost all manufactured models have a folding design, which greatly facilitates their storage and transportation. The Prorab motor-cultivator behaves perfectly on clay and heavy soils and can be used for processing areas with difficult terrain. However, the optimal conditions for using the unit are areas of up to 15 acres with soft soil and no stones.

Advantages and disadvantages

Like any agricultural machine, the Prorab cultivator has both strengths and weaknesses. The advantages include economical fuel consumption, which has a positive effect on the budget, and very easy control of the unit. The device is characterized by high maneuverability and smooth running, and the height-adjustable handles allow you to adjust it to your height. In addition, the manufacturer gives a guarantee of protection against accidental ignition of the unit, which makes its use absolutely safe.

For ease of use, the cultivator is equipped with a lighting system, which allows you not to stop working at nightfall. Many consumers also note the convenient location of the main keys and control levers located on the handle, which makes it possible to easily switch speeds, control the gas and brake. The advantages include the ability of the cultivator to work in high and low temperatures - this allows it to be used in the range from -10 to 40 degrees.

Attention is also drawn to the ability of the unit to operate on low-octane gasoline, excellent maneuverability and availability of spare parts.

However, such units have their drawbacks. These include low endurance of mechanisms when working with virgin soil, as well as rapid overheating of the motor when transporting goods weighing over 500 kg. For the sake of fairness, it should be noted that models of this class are not intended for particularly heavy loads, and in such cases it is better to use a walk-behind tractor.

Attachments

The Prorab company has launched the production of attachments for motor cultivators, which is presented in a huge assortment. Hiller.This device is especially popular with potato field owners. With its help, you can remove weeds and huddle potato rows, while forming high and neat ridges. The potato digger and potato planter are also often used by summer residents when planting and harvesting potatoes. The devices greatly facilitate the hard physical labor that is usually associated with the cultivation of this crop.

The lugs are metal wheels with a deep oblique tread, which provide reliable traction of the cultivator with the ground and prevent the machinery from getting bogged down.

The cutters are designed for loosening the soil, removing weeds and cultivating virgin lands. For motor-cultivators, saber-shaped models are mainly used, although for powerful samples, the use of "crow's feet" is allowed. The adapter is a metal frame with a seat and is designed for the operator to be able to operate the cultivator while sitting. This function is very useful when transporting goods and when processing large areas. The mower is designed for harvesting feed for cattle, removing weeds and mowing lawns.

A trailer or cart is used to transport goods weighing less than 500 kg and is attached to the cultivator by means of a universal hitch.

A single-row plow allows you to plow virgin lands and is able to penetrate 25-30 cm deep into the soil. The pump is required for pumping or pumping fluids and is often used in conjunction with sprinklers to irrigate plantations.

However, when choosing a cultivator, it should be borne in mind that most of the above attachments can be used with models with a capacity of over 6 liters. with. This applies to the plow, adapter and cart. Therefore, before purchasing a motor-cultivator, it is necessary to determine the volume and type of work, and only after that choose both the unit itself and the attachments.

Varieties

The classification of Prorab motor cultivators is carried out according to several criteria, the fundamental of which is the type of engine of the unit. According to this criterion, two types of devices are distinguished: gasoline and electric.

Motorized cultivators with an electric motor are presented in two models: Prorab ET 1256 and ET 754. The devices are small in size, low in power - 1.25 and 0.75 kW, respectively, and have a small working width, not exceeding 40 cm. Such devices are equipped with one forward gear and are intended for use in greenhouses, greenhouses and other small spaces. In addition, the Prorab ET 754 makes it easy to handle small flower beds and front gardens. The Prorab ET 1256 is well suited for loosening light soil in previously worked small areas.

Gasoline models are presented much more broadly and are divided into three types: light, medium and heavy.

Light cultivators are equipped with engines of 2.2-4 liters. with. and weigh an average of 15-20 kg. The best-selling model of lightweight units is the Prorab GT 40 T. The working width of the units is 105 and 135 cm, and the depth of immersion in the ground is 10 and 30 cm, respectively.

User manual

The Prorab cultivator must be run in immediately after purchase. As a rule, the equipment is sold completely ready-to-use, but there are times when you need to adjust the valves, check the belt tension and pull the threaded connections. The unit can be used immediately after purchase. Before the first start, you must fill in engine and transmission oil and fill the fuel tank with gasoline.

Then you should start the engine and leave it in operation at reduced speed for 15-20 hours.

During the running-in, the parts are lapped and the working gap is calibrated. It is recommended to turn off the engine for 15 minutes every two hours, and after it has cooled down a little, restart it. When the engine is running, you must make sure that there are no unnecessary noises and rattling - the engine should not "triple", vibrate or stall. After running-in, the used engine oil must be drained and refilled with new. In the future, it needs to be changed every 100 hours of operation.

From the general recommendations, the following positions can be distinguished:

  • when working with a cultivator on heavy soils, it is necessary to periodically turn off the engine and let the machine rest;
  • in the event that the unit will be buried in the ground, weights must be used;
  • for soft soils, a second, faster gear should be used.

It is necessary to fill the engine and transmission only with oils intended for this and use SAE 10W30 as machine oil, and TAD-17 or "Litol" as transmission oil.
