Barberry is often used to decorate the landscape of summer cottages and park areas. A variety of varieties allows you to choose a shrub for every taste, and in the overall composition, barberry varieties look very impressive and original. One of the most interesting varieties is the Orange Sunrise barberry. The spectacular plant attracts the attention of gardeners not only because of its high decorative effect, but also due to its unpretentious care and endurance.

Description

Hybrid barberry Thunberg "Orange Sunrise" - very attractive variety, having the following external characteristics:

  • the height of the bush can reach 1.5 meters;
  • branches of an erect type, red tint;
  • foliage is dense, dense;
  • the original foliage has a rounded shape, resembles a coin in shape;
  • the color of the leaves is red or juicy orange;
  • leaf length about 3 cm;
  • a yellow edging appears on the leaves of mature plants;
  • high decorativeness is due not only to the beauty of the foliage, but also to flowering in late spring;
  • inflorescences of a single type, yellowish inside, with red petals;
  • abundant flowering, strewn with the entire branch, but short - less than a month;
  • mature plants have spines on the branches, about 1 cm in size;
  • thanks to thorniness, the plant can be planted as a hedge;
  • closer to autumn, fruits appear elongated, oval;

Planting and leaving

The unpretentiousness of barberries makes them a favorite shrub among gardeners. When choosing a place for planting, it must be remembered that the plant is very sun-loving. In the shade, it can lose the lion's share of its decorative effect, for example, the foliage will acquire a gloomy green tone. The choice should fall on a well-lit area of ​​the garden, without stagnant water, not in the lowlands. Barberries tolerate drought better than marshy soils.

You can buy an Orange Sunrise seedling in a garden store or nursery, such a plant has many chances to take root, as it was grown with correctly selected fertilizers. The choice should fall on a bush with strong, powerful roots, clean, intact leaves.

Before planting the purchased seedling, you must hold it wrapped in a wet cloth for 30 minutes. Then place the root in a special stimulating composition.
