Jubilee grapes

The Yubileiny grape variety attracts the attention of gardeners with a stable harvest and charming color of berries. Separately, it is worth noting the nutmeg taste and aroma, thanks to which the fruits can be used for making wines.

This variety appeared in 1999 through the efforts of professional breeders of the Bashkir Agricultural Institute. To obtain a new hybrid grape, the Madeleine Angevin and Early Malengre cultures were crossed. The result is a variety with aromatic fruits that can be used to make high-quality Muscat wine.

A versatile variety can be identified by its strong vine. The bushes are tall and develop rapidly. The leaves are colored deep green and are large in size.

Yubileiny refers to early ripening varieties.

The bunches are large. The shape is conical or winged. The average weight is 120 grams, but some specimens reach one kilogram. If the vineyard is in favorable conditions, the weight of the bunch can be about 3 kilograms. The density is medium.

Ripe fruits can be yellow, white-pink or amber, with a pink tint. Sometimes there are berries with a uniform pink color. The skin is firm. The shape of the berries is round. In the process of ripening, the crop gradually loses its sour taste. The pulp is juicy. The weight of one berry is about 2.2 grams. The size is medium.

The taste of Jubilee grapes is described as soft, pleasant and harmonious. Separately, they note an appetizing nutmeg aroma. There are notes of strawberry and nutmeg in the aftertaste. The sugar content is 125 g / dm³.

This horticultural crop belongs to high-yielding varieties. Up to 3.5 kilograms of fruits are harvested from one bush (up to 100 centners per hectare of plantations). With proper care, the grapes will give a consistently high-quality harvest.

When growing grapes, it is worth noting that it has an average vigor of shoot growth. Also, the variety is not afraid of common fungal diseases.

It is necessary to plant grapes in a well-lit area, which is protected from strong winds and drafts. If the vineyard is located in the northern strip, the bushes are planted along the southern walls. The variety is unpretentious to the composition of the soil, however, it feels uncomfortable on the ground with groundwater flowing close to the surface.

In the south, grapes can be transplanted outdoors in fall or spring. In northern latitudes, work is recommended in spring.It is worth starting planting only when the threat of repeated frosts has passed. The minimum soil temperature should be 10 degrees Celsius.

During the flowering period, the plant is covered with bisexual flowers, making it easy to pollinate on its own. It is not required to plant additional plants nearby.

The grapes are pruned every year. This is necessary to give the bush a neat shape and improve the quality of the crop. They start work only after the end of the growing season, when parts of the bush are fully ripe. External signs, such as leaf fall, will help determine the right time. Typically, grapes shed their leaves at the end of October.

Experts advise pruning in 2 steps. The first time in the fall, before preparing the plant for winter (before shelter), and in the spring, when the frost has receded and the grapes can be opened. In the fall, part of the green shoots is removed. In the spring, the bush is cleaned of frozen and moldy branches.

This variety needs timely irrigation during the growing season. Young bushes are especially demanding on the level of soil moisture. In the first year of life, the plant is watered only once a week. Adult grapes are watered 2 times per season. Irrigation is performed before flowering and when ovaries appear. If the weather is hot and dry outside, the grapes need additional watering. It is important not to overmoisten the soil, otherwise it will lead to cracking of the fruit.

If the soil chosen for the vineyard cannot boast of fertility, it is necessary to regularly feed the grapes. With a lack of potassium and phosphorus, the plant begins to hurt, which negatively affects the quality of the crop. Fertilizers based on these components should be used first. Mineral formulations are also used. They are brought into the soil under the bush before flowering.

Grapes are not afraid of frost. It can easily withstand temperatures up to 22 degrees Celsius below zero. In regions with mild and short winters, the plant may not be covered. If the vineyard is located in the northern region, the fruit crop must be prepared for winter. The vine is carefully laid and covered with a thick layer of earth.

Preventive treatment will not be superfluous, despite the resistance to fungi. Also, sweet fruits attract the attention of wasps and birds.

The fruits are stored for a long time and tolerate transportation remarkably.
