Victor grapes are very popular among domestic varieties. This garden culture has many features, including high gastronomic qualities of fruits, frost resistance and unpretentiousness in agricultural technology. A new variety was obtained at the beginning of the current millennium. The grapes were bred in the Kuban, Russian breeder Viktor Krainov worked on it. To obtain a fruit crop, two well-known varieties were crossed.

As they ripen, the berries turn into a rich pink color. Inside contains bones, from 1 to 2 pieces. The density of the pulp can vary from medium to high. It all depends on the care of the plant and weather conditions. The weight of one berry is from 12 to 18 grams, which indicates a large size. The shape of the fruit is elongated, finger-like. The berries are slightly pointed at the end.

The color of the berries is not always bright. Sometimes the fruits turn light pink or remain pale. The color is affected by exposure to direct sunlight. If the grapes grow in a lighted area, the fruit turns purple. With a lack of lighting, the color saturation disappears.

The skin is firm but crispy. It does not create discomfort when eaten. The pulp is juicy and fleshy.

The yield of the Victor variety is quite high. From one bush, you can collect from 6 to 8 kilograms of fruit. In order for the crop to be of high quality and regular, it is necessary to properly care for the plant.

When choosing a place for a plant, you should choose a carefully ventilated and sunny area. The ideal location is a small hill on the south side. In such locations, cold air does not stagnate, which contributes to the full development of the plant.

You need to prune the bushes every year. Getting rid of unnecessary shoots is necessary to protect the plant from diseases. Broken, diseased and weakened vines should also be removed regularly. Pruning has a positive effect on the quality of the crop. The berries become larger and sweeter.

When growing the Victor variety, pruning is performed according to the following schemes.

• Short. In this case, the fruit arrows are shortened by 4-6 eyes. This option is chosen for cordon moldings.
• Long. If the plant needs to be shaped like a fan, a long molding is exactly what you need. The arrows must be cut to a length of 8 to 12 eyes.

Experienced gardeners recommend leaving only strong shoots on which large clusters can grow. All excess is removed so that the plant does not waste its energy.

To get tasty and sweet berries in the first year of life, grapes need to be watered regularly. After planting seedlings, irrigation is necessary for their successful rooting. Moderate soil moisture should be maintained. Irrigation is carried out every 7-10 days. It is important that the soil is not overly moist, otherwise the root system will start to rot.

Unlike young plants, mature shrubs do not need to be watered frequently. For them, irrigation 2-3 times per season is enough. Increase the watering frequency if the weather is dry and hot. It is not recommended to water the plant before flowering. Otherwise, the grapes will release nutrients not on the fruits, but on the formation of green mass.

To get a rich harvest, 3-4 grapes are fed per season. The first time feeding is applied during flowering. Then the grapes are fertilized during the growth of the fruit and after the ripe fruits are harvested. Experts advise using a mixture that you can prepare yourself. A bucket of water uses 2 kilograms of manure, 50 grams of ash and 30 grams of superphosphate. The resulting mixture is applied to 1 square meter of plantings.

Horticultural crops can withstand frosts up to 23 degrees Celsius below zero. If the plant is in the southern region, it is not necessary to cover it for the winter. Vineyards in central Russia, as well as in the north, must be protected before the arrival of winter. In the fall, after harvesting, the bushes are fed, and then carefully removed from the support, bent to the ground and covered. They remove the shelter only when the danger of the return of frost has completely passed.

Garden culture Victor is not afraid of common diseases that often affect grapes. It also has an innate resistance to other fungal infections. Wasps pose a danger to sweet and juicy berries. To distract the wasps from the harvest, special containers are used, which are filled with a sweet drink, where insecticides are mixed.

When cutting ripe bunches, leave a petiole about 5 centimeters long. Harvest should be stored away from sunlight, in a cool place. This will keep them fresh for up to 3 months. Also, the berries tolerate transportation remarkably. For transportation, you need to put the bunches in boxes.
