Grapes Transformation is the result of the work of the breeder V. N. Krainov. The variety is a complex hybrid. It boasts that it has received excellent qualities: short ripening times, pleasant taste and high yields.

Breeding history

The grape variety Transfiguration is bred from two varieties: Radiant Kishmish and Talisman. The originator is the wine grower Viktor Nikolaevich Krainov, who worked together with the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution VNIIViV. The Transformation has been indicated in the State Register since 2014. The duration of the patent number 7250 is December 31, 2049.

Geography of distribution

The southern territories of the country are most suitable for the Transfiguration variety. It takes root well and shows a high yield in Ukraine. And also it can be grown in the middle lane with the condition of covering the vine for the winter.

Description

Cuttings can be grafted to other varieties, they show a high level of survival. The plant is large, the mother bush can form many stepsons. Fruitful shoots make up 80% of the total, ripen well. The height can be up to 3 meters in length. Cuttings take root quickly, a powerful root system that goes deep into the ground. Leaves are smooth, medium in size. The variety has the ability to change under the influence of specific growing factors and rootstocks.

Ripening period

This grape variety is distinguished by its fast ripening of the crop. It takes about 3-3.5 months from the opening of the buds to the full ripening of the berries. The specified dates may vary due to the climatic conditions of the area. The Transfiguration grapes ripen in early August.

Bunches

The bunch weighs approximately 780 to 1900 grams. The shape of the bunch is conical, medium density. Some bunches may be loose. There is practically no peeling.

Berries

The berries are quite large. The length of one berry is slightly more than 3 cm. The shape is cylindrical, slightly elongated. One berry weighs 10-20 grams. Ripe grapes are light pink in color. The skin of the grapes is medium thick with a waxy bloom. The berries are characterized by good sugar accumulation.

Taste

The Transfiguration variety has a pleasant sweet taste, with a slight addition of a sour tint. There is no nutmeg flavor.

Yield

Up to 25 kilograms of harvest can be obtained from one plant. The yield reaches 110-180 centners per hectare. The fruiting factor is 1.3.

The choice of planting material
Experienced gardeners recommend that beginners take cuttings and seedlings from those who made them from their vines and are professionally engaged in the production of such material.
You can evaluate the quality by cutting off a small amount of bark. When growing a bush from a cuttings and observing the rules of agricultural technology, survival rate is about 90%, the high quality of the plant is practically guaranteed. It is possible to control the development of grapes at all stages.
Subject to the rules of agricultural technology, survival rate is about 100%. The seedlings must be healthy. Pay attention to the absence of blisters, growths, or other signs of disease.

Growing features

When purchasing planting material, you must carefully examine it. The vines should show no signs of frost, dryness, or disease damage. If the seedling is healthy, then it should have white roots, green shoots on the cross section.

Landing

The variety Transformation to the composition of the soil is not too demanding. You can add fertile soil to the planting hole. And also in not very fertile soils, where there is an insufficient ability to form a layer of humus, it is recommended to put compost, nitrogen fertilizers, humus or ash in the planting hole. The depth of the planting hole should be about 0.5 meters.

For planting, it is worth choosing southern areas with good lighting. Rows are recommended to be organized from north to south. Planting holes should be placed at a distance of 2 meters from one another. There must be good drainage on the site, moisture stagnation must not be allowed. It is preferable to plant the Transfiguration grapes on the hills. When planting, the soil is mixed with all the necessary additives and spilled abundantly with warm water so that the earth settles a little.

The exact time for planting depends on the climatic conditions of the region. In spring, planting can be done when the air has already warmed up and the temperature is about +15 degrees Celsius. And also the earth should warm up by about +10 degrees.

Landing features
In order for the vine to give a signal harvest after 3 years, it is necessary to take into account many factors - from the type of soil on the site to the nearby plants.

Pollination

Pollination of the plant is carried out without any participation of insects, since the flowers are bisexual. Artificial pollination of grapes does not require, as it occurs with the help of the wind.

Pruning

Thanks to timely and correct pruning, you can get a fairly bountiful harvest. Long or medium pruning with 5-8 eyes is recommended for this variety. In the first year after planting, pruning is done up to 2 eyes. Then it is carried out every year.

Pruning is one of the main grape care procedures. Depending on the purpose of pruning and the type of plant, the appropriate type of formation is selected.

Watering

Transfiguration bushes love abundant watering, but you can't overdo it. The root system goes deep into the soil, therefore, in order to saturate all the roots with moisture, watering must be carried out in significant volumes. After planting, the seedling is watered once a week. The amount of watering is approximately 2 buckets of water for one bush. After a month, water should be watered less often - once every 3-4 weeks, but at the same time the volume increases, which reaches 4 buckets.

For grapes, it is worth carrying out moisture-charging watering in autumn and spring. In the fall, this is done after the foliage has fallen. The procedure is necessary for the plant to withstand frost better. Dry soil is prone to more severe freezing. In the spring, such watering is required for greater kidney activity. This is especially important under conditions of little snow winter. Even if it rains, it is still worth watering the plant additionally, because rain moisture may not be enough for a powerful root system.

If an underground irrigation system is not provided, then it is carried out superficially. To do this, stepping back from the vine about 25-30 centimeters, they form a furrow up to 20 centimeters deep, where watering is carried out. After watering, the soil needs to be loosened and weeds removed.

Too much watering negatively affects the taste of the grapes. The berries will be too watery and lacking in flavor. Therefore, in the event of a rainy summer, it is recommended to make drainage ditches to get rid of excess moisture.

Irrigation schemes
In order for the berries to be large and juicy, it is necessary to organize full watering and feeding. All standards must be adjusted for weather conditions and the rate of evaporation of the liquid.
With a frequent watering scheme, it is recommended to moisturize once every two weeks (that is, twice a month during flowering and the appearance of berries) so that the earth is saturated 50 cm deep so that the plant does not switch to superficial (dew) roots. This amount can be reduced by mulching the crop with straw.
With a rare irrigation scheme, choosing the age and maturation of the grapes, you can use the standards presented in the table in another article.

Top dressing

The Transfiguration variety is fed with mineral and organic fertilizers. Prior to the awakening of the vine, feeding with superphosphate is carried out. Organic fertilizers are applied under the bush in April or May, before flowering. During the ovary, fertilization with phosphorus is required. In the autumn, you need to add copper and potassium.

Frost resistance and the need for shelter

The grapes of this variety are quite frost-hardy, they can withstand cold temperatures down to -20 degrees. In case of more severe frosts, the vines should be covered for the frost period.

Shelter for the winter is a very important step for the preservation of many grape varieties after wintering.

Diseases and pests

The Vines of the Transfiguration are quite resistant to various diseases. Stably resistant to mildew and gray rot, medium resistance to powdery mildew. Insects also do not cause much harm to the plant. Wasps are moderately damaged by wasps.

Storage

The Transfiguration grapes are well stored and transported. To preserve the berries, a dry room with good ventilation is required.

The Transfiguration grape has many virtues that are easily manifested with proper vine care. A bountiful harvest of delicious berries will delight winegrowers and buyers.
