Gardeners are increasingly planting raisins on their plots. Such berries have many advantages: amazing taste, no pits, bushes are picky about planting and further care. One of these varieties is Rusbol.

Breeding history

Specifically, the breeding of the variety was not carried out by a separate breeder, but by two organizations, and even two countries:

  • AllRosNIIViV them. Ya.I. Potapenko;

  • Bulgaria.

They were able to breed Rusbol from two types: Villard Blanc and Superearly seedless.

Description

You can plant grapes with cuttings, or you can use the root system of old bushes. In the second case, in the second year after planting, it is already possible to harvest.

Bushes are vigorous. One of the advantages of this species is that it is compatible with most rootstocks and can be easily propagated by cuttings.

It is a non-covering variety with bisexual flowers on the bushes. The fruits can be used for dried fruits or placed fresh on the table.

Ripening period

From the moment the buds appear to harvest, 115-125 days pass. Rusbol belongs to the early varieties.

Bunches

The bunches are formed in a conical shape. They have a moderate density. Each weighs from 400 to 600 grams.

Berries

Ripe berries are white in color. There is no bone inside, which is why this table view is so fond of children.

Sugar in fruits contains 190-210 g / dm³, while acidity is 5-7 g / dm³.

The skin is so thin that you can't even feel it while eating. The flesh inside each berry is very fleshy and juicy. The fruits are oval in shape, measuring 18x16 mm.

Taste

Rusbol has a harmonious taste, for which he is appreciated.

Yield

The variety in question belongs to the high-yielding species.

The choice of planting material
Experienced gardeners recommend that beginners take cuttings and seedlings from those who made them from their vines and are professionally engaged in the production of such material.
You can evaluate the quality by cutting off a small amount of bark. When growing a bush from a cuttings and observing the rules of agricultural technology, survival rate is about 90%, the high quality of the plant is practically guaranteed. It is possible to control the development of grapes at all stages.
Subject to the rules of agricultural technology, survival rate is about 100%. The seedlings must be healthy. Pay attention to the absence of blisters, growths, or other signs of disease.

Growing features

In professional circles, Rusbol is also called a suicide. It is necessary to regulate the number of ovaries, otherwise there is an overload of the plant. When ripe, the bunches become poured and heavy. Under such a weight, the vine simply breaks off.

Weak shoots are removed, so you can easily stimulate the growth of the remaining ones.

Landing

To form a quality vineyard, you will need to take a responsible attitude to the issue of the choice of planting material.

When buying seedlings of this type, first of all, they pay attention to the root system. If it is fragile and the shoots break off, then such a seedling is more likely dead than alive.

Healthy shoots are elastic, with living healthy green tissue under the bark. The kidneys are necessarily elastic if you touch them. There are no peeling scales on them.

Like most varieties, Rusbol will not take root in an area where groundwater lies close to the surface. It will not withstand high acidity.

An ideal solution would be an open area where the ground is well ventilated. This arrangement helps to reduce the likelihood of a fungal infection. Such diseases multiply well where there is warm, humid and stagnant air.

Wasteland will not work either, a little shading of the grapes is necessary, since it is a good protection from the scorching sun.

The landing pit is prepared in advance. Diameter for each handle is 300 mm. In depth, such a pit should be at least 450 mm, but not more than 600 mm.

At the bottom, humus and sand mixed with the soil must be laid, the proportion is as follows 2: 1: 1. In addition, drainage must be organized. Expanded clay is taken as it, you can use broken brick. It is necessary to protect the grapes from excess moisture.

Pour the prepared mixture on top of it. Lay the seedling so that the grafting site is 1.5 centimeters from the ground.

After planting, the seedling is watered. There is a bucket of water for each plant.

Landing features
In order for the vine to give a signal harvest after 3 years, it is necessary to take into account many factors - from the type of soil on the site to the nearby plants.

Pollination

Pollination is not required for the grape variety in question, since the flowers are bisexual.

Pruning

On one bush, the percentage of fruitful shoots is from 85 to 95. The number of clusters per shoot should be 1.5-1.9.

You can use a short cut of 2-3 eyes, or you can use an average 6-8. Their total number should be 30-45 per bush.

Pruning is one of the main grape care procedures. Depending on the purpose of pruning and the type of plant, the appropriate type of formation is selected.

Watering

If there is enough rain, there is no need to water the grapes additionally. During dry periods, the grapes are watered every two weeks until the ovaries appear. As a rule, watering is carried out 2 weeks before the formation of fruits, and 2 weeks before harvest.

Irrigation schemes
In order for the berries to be large and juicy, it is necessary to organize full watering and feeding. All standards must be adjusted for weather conditions and the rate of evaporation of the liquid.
With a frequent watering scheme, it is recommended to moisturize once every two weeks (that is, twice a month during flowering and the appearance of berries) so that the earth is saturated 50 cm deep so that the plant does not switch to superficial (dew) roots. This amount can be reduced by mulching the crop with straw.
With a rare irrigation scheme, choosing the age and maturation of the grapes, you can use the standards presented in the table in another article.

Top dressing

In the spring, during the budding period, the first feeding is applied. Ideal for a ten liter bucket:

  • 20 grams of superphosphate;

  • 10 grams of ammonium nitrate;

  • 5 grams of potassium salt.

The grapes are fed with the same solution before flowers begin to appear on it.

Excluding saltpeter, top dressing is applied after the fruits have set.

After harvesting, it will be useful to feed the bushes with potassium. Potassium salt is ideal. For ten liters, 20 grams is enough.

The feeding portion is designed for one plant.

Grapes that are already 3 years old can be fed with manure. The procedure is repeated every 3 years. Fertilizer is laid out around the bushes and then dug up the soil.

Frost resistance and the need for shelter

There is no need to cover the variety, its frost resistance is -25 degrees.

Shelter for the winter is a very important step for the preservation of many grape varieties after wintering.

Diseases and pests

Rusbol suffers most of all from fungal diseases, but wasps practically do not touch him.

From microscopic pathogens:

  • gray rot;

  • mildew;

  • oidium.

As soon as the weather is humid and warm for a long time, a period of fungal diseases comes.

The best remedy is a fungicide. Experts advise using copper sulfate, which is suitable for any grape variety.

I use 50 grams for 10 liters of water.

Storage

Berries are not stored for a long time, it is better to eat them immediately. They also deteriorate during long-term transportation.
