Gurzuf pink (124-66-26) is an early universal variety that is popular among gardeners due to its excellent qualities and the possibility of its use both for culinary purposes and for making delicious wine (blended and dessert). It is distinguished by its unpretentious care and excellent taste.

Breeding history

The variety was bred by Pavel Golodriga, a native of Ukraine, on the basis of the illegal armed group "Ampelos". For this, he crossed Muscat VIR and Magarach.

Geography of distribution

Most often, grapes are grown by farmers in the Crimea, Krasnodar Territory, Ukraine and Central Asia. The variety is able to take root in any place where there are no too harsh climatic conditions.

Description

Ripening period

The variety is early, the growing season is about 125 days. You can harvest at the end of summer.

Bunches

The bunch is quite beautiful, has a cylindrical or cylindrical-conical winged shape. It is not too dense, rather loose, since the berries do not adhere to each other. It weighs about 250 g. On the bushes you can see a large number of bunches, among which there is practically no waste.

Berries

Medium-sized fruits are dark red in color and round in shape, dense skin and fleshy-juicy flesh. Inside each berry, you can see 3-4 seeds. On average, one grape can weigh about 2-3 g. They are characterized by high transportability and excellent consumer qualities.

Taste

The fruits have a pleasant harmonious taste, there is a bright nutmeg aroma. The flavor characteristics of this variety are of an extremely high level. Sugar content - 250-290 g / dm³, acidity - 6-7 g / dm³. The fruits have a tasting score of 7.9-8 points.

Yield

On average, 150 c / ha can be harvested from one bush. With proper care, the harvest will be regular and fairly large.

The choice of planting material
Experienced gardeners recommend that beginners take cuttings and seedlings from those who made them from their vines and are professionally engaged in the production of such material.
You can evaluate the quality by cutting off a small amount of bark. When growing a bush from a cuttings and observing the rules of agricultural technology, survival rate is about 90%, the high quality of the plant is practically guaranteed. It is possible to control the development of grapes at all stages.
Subject to the rules of agricultural technology, survival rate is about 100%. The seedlings must be healthy. Pay attention to the absence of blisters, growths, or other signs of disease.

Growing features

Landing

Seedlings of the variety can be planted both in the spring (before the start of the growing season) and in the fall (after the leaves are shed, a few weeks before the frost begins). It is important to choose a good site where the bush can thrive. The zone should be located on the southern side of the territory, well illuminated by the rays of the sun, and it should also be closed from sharp gusts of wind. It should be remembered about such a factor as the level of occurrence of groundwater.

You should not plant a crop in an area where there were other varieties that depleted the soil last season.

The optimal soil substrate for Gurzuf pink is a multicomponent mixture, which will include black soil, humus and sand, which makes the soil looser.

Landing features
In order for the vine to give a signal harvest after 3 years, it is necessary to take into account many factors - from the type of soil on the site to the nearby plants.

Pollination

The flowers are bisexual, so they do not need additional pollination.

Pruning

It is necessary to trim the bushes in a timely manner and regularly, otherwise they can grow rapidly. The best option is 40 eyes per bush, 2-4 eyes per vine.

Pruning is one of the main grape care procedures. Depending on the purpose of pruning and the type of plant, the appropriate type of formation is selected.

Watering

Watering is extremely important for the correct development of the bush and for its full growth. Especially carefully you need to monitor this during the growing season and at a time when the ovaries of future bunches are being formed. From the beginning to the end of the formation of fruits, it is necessary to moisten the substrate under the bush once every few days. If the climatic conditions are dry, the plant should be watered every day.

About 8-10 liters of water is used per adult crop, but it is also important to take into account the individual characteristics of the bush and the rate of drying of the soil. The last watering is carried out at the end of autumn, but in such a way that when the first frost occurs, the soil is dry. The grapes should be watered in the morning and in the evening, preferably by the root method, so that the liquid does not get on the vine, as it can rot from this.

A few weeks before harvesting the bunches, watering should be reduced, because excess water can contribute to the appearance of wateriness in the fruits.

Irrigation schemes
In order for the berries to be large and juicy, it is necessary to organize full watering and feeding. All standards must be adjusted for weather conditions and the rate of evaporation of the liquid.
With a frequent watering scheme, it is recommended to moisturize once every two weeks (that is, twice a month during flowering and the appearance of berries) so that the earth is saturated 50 cm deep so that the plant does not switch to superficial (dew) roots. This amount can be reduced by mulching the crop with straw.
With a rare irrigation scheme, choosing the age and maturation of the grapes, you can use the standards presented in the table in another article.

Top dressing

In the process of watering, it is important to use a variety of fertilizers - both organic and mineral. Most often, they are introduced by the root method as granules, or the substances are previously dissolved in the irrigation liquid. There are several stages of crop feeding.

  • The first fertilization of grapes is carried out using nitrogen-containing compounds in the spring, when winter ends.

  • The second feeding is needed after the bunches have formed. Potassium and phosphorus are used for it. You can do both root dressing and foliar spraying.

  • For the third time, the soil is fertilized with mineral or organic fertilizers at the end of autumn. The dosage of the funds is reduced so that the culture cannot begin to grow again.

From organic matter, you can choose mullein, manure or humus, which contain all the substances necessary for grapes. The funds should be diluted in water in a ratio of 1 to 5 and insisted for about 3-7 days.

Frost resistance and the need for shelter

The variety is resistant to cold weather, able to calmly endure frosts down to -25 degrees and adapt well to any climate conditions. Despite this, it is recommended to make a shelter for the Gurzuf pink for the winter. To do this, remove the shoots from the trellises, lay them in dug trenches (about 10-15 cm deep) and carefully cover them with tree sawdust. Plywood is most often laid at the bottom of the trenches, and the shoots are fixed with metal brackets. After that, it is necessary to cover them with a film and cover them with sawdust or dry wood.

Shelter for the winter is a very important step for the preservation of many grape varieties after wintering.

Diseases and pests

The grapes are resistant to fungal diseases, oidium and phylloxera, but it is necessary to remember about preventive measures that will help keep the bush healthy.

Storage

Bunches are stored for quite a long time, but storage conditions and harvesting technology must be taken into account.
