Denisovsky grapes

The Denisov variety belongs to the technical types of grapes. Basically, the fruits are used to make red dry, sparkling and sweet wines. To get a bountiful harvest, you should get to know this variety better.

The Denisov variety is the result of crossing Northern grapes and a mixture of muscat pollen. This species began to be used in 2006, and the authors are Russian breeders VNIIViV im. Ya.I. Potapenko.

The bush has a medium vigor of growth, it has a well-developed root system. The leaf plate is dissected and covered with a light fluff on the underside. On one run, there are 1.1-1.3 bunches.

Denisovsky belongs to varieties with an early ripening period, the first bunches can be removed after 100-110 days.

They have a cylindrical shape and moderate density. The mass of each bunch is 200-300 g.

The fruits are small, their weight is only 2 g, they are black in color and rounded, each berry contains 2-3 seeds.

The berries are characterized by a harmonious wine taste, sugar content - 200-220 g / dm³, and acidity - 7-8 g / dm³. The skin is thin, but quite firm, the flesh is juicy. The fruits can be used not only in winemaking, but also for making jam, preserves, compote, liqueur.

Denisovsky belongs to high-yielding varieties. The harvest result is about 140 kg / ha or 4 kg per bush. Among the shoots, 60-70% bear fruit well.

The main advantage of the presented variety is picky to the type of soil. The only exceptions are wetlands or salt marshes.

When choosing a planting site, give preference to well-lit areas that are not shaded by other bushes. If the bush is propagated by cuttings, then in the first year the planting material will give powerful shoots. The bush of the Denisov variety grows well, therefore, when planting seedlings, it is important to leave a gap of at least 1.5 meters between them, and the distance between the rows should not be less than 3 meters. Keep in mind that other varieties are allowed to be grafted onto cuttings.

The variety has bisexual flowers, so no pollinating insects are required. Diluted well vegetatively with grafting.

Pruning is an important manipulation when keeping a plant. When pruning the vine, leave 6-7 eyes so that it can comfortably withstand the load.

When caring for your crop, do not ignore watering, pest control, and the introduction of mineral and organic fertilizers. The variety reacts well to nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Top dressing with vitamins is used less often.

The plant is able to withstand temperatures down to -26 degrees, which means that it does not need shelter, even if it is grown in the northern regions of the country.

The resistance of the variety to mildew is estimated at 3.5 points, to mildew - by 4 points, so experienced gardeners recommend treating the plant with sulfur. Fungicides Bayleton and Rubigan are suitable. The hybrid is resistant to gray rot, anthracnose, leafworm. In addition, it is believed that the variety does not attract wasps, but judging by the reviews, this is not entirely true, and wasps are still often interested in grapes. In this case, a fine mesh will save the insects.

The Denisovskiy variety is characterized by dense clusters and a thin but strong skin of the fruit, which means that it has a long shelf life. The grapes also showed themselves well during long-distance transportation.

Reviews

Most often, winegrowers of the Caucasus become connoisseurs of the Denisov variety. The excellent taste of the wine made from this variety is noted due to the high sugar content of the berries. Among the advantages, farmers also call unpretentious care. Many treat the plant with sulfur against powdery mildew and recommend doing this in the morning and in the evening, since at low temperatures there will be no effect, and in the heat there is a possibility of a burn of the crop.
