Darya grapes (not to be confused with Dasha and Dashunya - these are different varieties) does not yet have a varietal status, as it is at the trial stage. However, the hybrid has already gained many fans in various regions.

Breeding history

Originally a table hybrid from Novocherkassk, authorship belongs to Viktor Nikolaevich Krainov. The national breeder devoted many years of his life to his beloved work. On his account there are many bred varieties and hybrids, of which many have not only passed successful tests, but are also included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation. Daria's parent varieties are Druzhba and Talisman, from which Krainov was able to take the best qualities and pass them on to his offspring, including vitality, high resistance to fungal diseases, and good yields.

Geography of distribution

The high indicators of the viability of the hybrid in any climatic zones allowed Daria to settle down garden plots in almost all regions of Russia. It winters well even in the northern regions, provided it is well protected. It is happily grown in the Kuban and Yekaterinburg, it is popular in Altai and Primorye, it grows in the North Caucasus region and in Irkutsk.

Description

Hybrid grapes have a vigorous bush with powerful and long shoots up to 2.5 meters. The vine is covered with large five-lobed dark green foliage, decorated with light veins. Daria is distinguished by high immunity and good health, resistant to shattering of the ovary, annual growths have time to grow significantly during the growing season. Grapes are grown on an industrial scale for fresh consumption. In private households, juices, wine are made from it, compotes, preserves, and jams are brewed.

Ripening period

Daria belongs to early maturing varieties, ripening period from 105 to 115 days.

Bunches

Large conical and wide-conical brushes weigh on average from 589 to 800 grams. However, the average indicators are called so because these are not limiting figures. Good care and adherence to agricultural technology allows you to get record-breaking bunches weighing up to 1.5 kg. The medium density of the cluster protects large berries from deformation, ensuring good preservation during transportation over short distances. All brushes are well aligned, not prone to peeling, due to which they are highly decorative.

Berries

Large egg-shaped berries in a milky white and pale yellow palette weigh up to 12.3 grams. The fleshy-juicy pulp of the fruit with two bones is covered with a skin of medium density and thickness. The sugar content reaches 190 g / dm³. There are no data on acidic indicators yet, but a harmonious taste speaks of a standard percentage.

Taste

The harmonious taste of aromatic berries has a pronounced persistent aftertaste with hints of nutmeg and citron.

Yield

The hybrid belongs to high-yielding varieties with stable performance - harvests from a bush reach 30 kilograms.

The choice of planting material
Experienced gardeners recommend that beginners take cuttings and seedlings from those who made them from their vines and are professionally engaged in the production of such material.
You can evaluate the quality by cutting off a small amount of bark. When growing a bush from a cuttings and observing the rules of agricultural technology, survival rate is about 90%, the high quality of the plant is practically guaranteed. It is possible to control the development of grapes at all stages.
Subject to the rules of agricultural technology, survival rate is about 100%. The seedlings must be healthy. Pay attention to the absence of blisters, growths, or other signs of disease.

Growing features

Planting and caring for the plant is not much different from the standard measures that must be followed to obtain a strong fruiting vine and a stable yield.

Landing

In the southern regions, seedlings are planted both in early spring and late autumn. The temperate climate allows planting only in spring, otherwise the seedling may not have time to take root and die. Places are chosen sunny, with protection from northern winds and drafts. If it is not possible to provide a location on the southern slope, which is typical for summer cottages, then there should be a wall of some structure or a solid fence of sufficient height nearby.

Light soil can be sandy, sandy loam with a good drainage layer at the bottom of the prepared pit. The landing sites should not have high ground and stagnant water. If such a phenomenon is observed at the location of the bushes, then the device of a high ridge will help out. In the normal state of the site, the bushes can be planted in a trench or pits.

Enriched nutrient soil is placed on the laid drainage layer, ordinary earth is poured on top of a mound. The roots of the plant are dipped in a mash made of mullein and clay, after which they are spread over the surface of the mound and covered with earth. The root collar should be 5 cm above the soil layer. The seedling is tied to a pre-established support, spilled with 2-3 buckets of water and cut off, leaving two or three healthy buds. After a day, the soil is loosened, after which the trunk circle is mulched with peat or compost.

Landing features
In order for the vine to give a signal harvest after 3 years, it is necessary to take into account many factors - from the type of soil on the site to the nearby plants.

Pollination

Daria blooms with bisexual flowers, so she does not need additional pollination measures.

Pruning

The plant needs systematic pruning; from 6 to 8 eyes are left on the shoots. The procedure is carried out in the spring, before the start of sap flow.

Pruning is one of the main grape care procedures. Depending on the purpose of pruning and the type of plant, the appropriate type of formation is selected.

Watering

The hybrid needs regular watering in the year of planting; for an adult plant, frequent irrigation is contraindicated. Watering is carried out 2-3 times per season.

Irrigation schemes
In order for the berries to be large and juicy, it is necessary to organize full watering and feeding. All standards must be adjusted for weather conditions and the rate of evaporation of the liquid.
With a frequent irrigation scheme, it is recommended to moisturize once every two weeks (that is, twice a month during flowering and the appearance of berries) so that the earth is saturated 50 cm deep so that the plant does not switch to superficial (dew) roots. This amount can be reduced by mulching the crop with straw.
With a rare irrigation scheme, having chosen the age and ripening period of the grapes, you can use the standards presented in the table in another article.

Frost resistance and the need for shelter

The hybrid tolerates low temperatures well, its frost resistance is -22 degrees Celsius, while it needs high-quality shelter in cold climatic zones. Shoots are removed from the support, laid on the ground and covered with spruce branches.Planks are placed on top, agrofibre is laid and sprinkled with earth.

Shelter for the winter is a very important step for the preservation of many grape varieties after wintering.

Diseases and pests

Strong immunity makes it possible to dispense with preventive measures to avoid damage by gray rot, mildew, oidium. Spraying with fungicides or a solution of copper sulfate is carried out.

Storage

The berry is well preserved for a month under properly organized conditions - good ventilation, no dampness, temperature regime not exceeding +7 degrees. Unfortunately, Daria is not capable of longer preservation.
