Every year, breeders develop new, cultivated varieties from wild grape crops. Such developments allow you to create more healthy, large and tasty berries. Each variety has its own qualities and appearance.

Breeding history

In the Rostov region, around the 2000s, the Bogatyanovsky grape was bred by a folk breeder. By cross-pollination of two grape varieties, the breeder V.N.Krainov created a real pride that was loved by many gardeners. This grape is named after the area in which it appeared. From the parental qualities of Radiant Kishmish and Talisman, the interspecific hybrid took away resistance to unstable weather, quick ripening and excellent taste.

Description

A vigorous plant is grown in several ways. It can be propagated by roots, cuttings, or by using the rootstock of another bush. The strength of the shoots makes it possible to withstand large clusters of grapes. Despite the abundance of fruits, more than 90% of the berries ripen completely.

Light green inflorescences on a cultivated plant begin their development in June. Up to 3 inflorescences are formed on one branch. The berries begin to form a couple of weeks after swelling. Grape leaf plates are divided into 5, less often into 3 lobes. There are denticles along the edges. The color of the leaves is deep green.

White grapes are classified as a table variety. Due to its high growth rate and rich harvest, you can get a lot of juice from it. Therefore, the hybrid is excellent for large-scale production of wine and juice products.

The Bogatyanovskiy variety is able to quickly regenerate. Damaged vines and berries are restored without human intervention. Cracked fruits dry quickly and do not have time to rot. New blooms are formed from buds for replacement. High density of fruits withstands long-term transportation. At the same time, they retain their fresh, marketable appearance.

Ripening period

The grapes ripen early enough. After 125 days from the moment of planting, ripe bunches can be harvested. The harvest is ready for harvest in August-September.

Bunches

The conical shape of a bunch of medium density Bogatyanovskiy grapes withstands up to 2 kg of berries. There are short and long clusters. In rare cases, they are peeled. The brushes sag under the weight of the fruit, become looser, but the berries do not crumble.

Berries

The berries of a hybrid plant are large. On average, one berry weighs 15 g, in some cases - up to 18 g. Ripe berries contain up to 20% sugar and about 7% acidity. On the sunny side, the fruits are often tanned, taking on a reddish hue. The berries themselves are bright yellow, ovoid. During ripening, the color varies from golden brown to pale pink, which is present in the parent variety - Kishmish.

Taste

The combination of acidity and sugar in the berries gives the pulp a pleasant sweet taste with sour notes. There is a nutmeg aroma. The dense skin is quite thin. When bitten, it crunches, but is not felt on the teeth.

Yield

Bogatyanovskiy grapes bear fruit strongly, which requires processing of the plant for uniform ripening of the crop. No more than 40 bunches can be grown per season, up to three inflorescences protrude on a branch. If no more than 8 eyes are left on one vine, the crop can be harvested up to 15 kg.

The choice of planting material
Experienced gardeners recommend that beginners take cuttings and seedlings from those who made them from their vines and are professionally engaged in the production of such material.
You can evaluate the quality by cutting off a small amount of bark. When growing a bush from a cuttings and observing the rules of agricultural technology, survival rate is about 90%, the high quality of the plant is practically guaranteed. It is possible to control the development of grapes at all stages.
Subject to the rules of agricultural technology, survival rate is about 100%. The seedlings must be healthy. Pay attention to the absence of blisters, growths, or other signs of disease.

Growing features

The Bogatyanovsky variety requires increased attention and careful care. The bushes are grown in a covering culture. Planting in a sunny area will speed up the development of the shoots. The seedlings are planted far apart, avoiding overlapping. Irrigation in the middle of summer will help prevent cracking of the berries. To strengthen the vine, support is required so that the plant does not break from powerful crops and foliage. It is imperative to remove extra eyes for the correct development of the bunches - there should be 35-45 of them on one vine.

Landing

Table grapes are planted in the spring in a shallow pit. At the bottom, it is necessary to fill in a dense layer with a mixture of crushed stone, sand and crushed bricks. A long pipe is installed deep into the pit, the soil is covered with minerals (potassium salt, phosphate) and a fertile mixture of manure, humus earth and peat. At the base of the plants, the vines are cut and planted with their roots to the south. Bushes are tied to a support for further germination. Covered with black earth and poured abundantly with three buckets of warm water. Properly prepared soil allows not to use fertilizers in the first year of the plant. From aridity, the soil is covered with a film.

Landing features
In order for the vine to give a signal harvest after 3 years, it is necessary to take into account many factors - from the type of soil on the site to the nearby plants.

Pollination

The breeding hybrid has a bisexual flower. Development does not require planting other varieties next to itself, since it is pollinated on its own.

Pruning

The processing of the plant is carried out in the autumn before the shelter for the winter. Cut off excess branches, prepare the bush for the next harvest. In the first year, the plant develops without treatment. For the second season, several shoots are left, each with 3 eyes. In the third and subsequent year, the plant is left with up to 4 shoots and the length of the vine is preserved.

Each shoot should have no more than 25 eyes in warm climates. In cold weather - up to 8 eyes. The total load on the bush should not exceed 45 eyes. Gardeners recommend cutting off shoots near the ground, as they are less pollinated.

Pruning is one of the main grape care procedures. Depending on the purpose of pruning and the type of plant, the appropriate type of formation is selected.
Irrigation schemes
In order for the berries to be large and juicy, it is necessary to organize full watering and feeding. All standards must be adjusted for weather conditions and the rate of evaporation of the liquid.
With a frequent irrigation scheme, it is recommended to moisturize once every two weeks (that is, twice a month during flowering and the appearance of berries) so that the earth is saturated 50 cm deep so that the plant does not switch to superficial (dew) roots. This amount can be reduced by mulching the crop with straw.
With a rare irrigation scheme, having chosen the age and ripening period of the grapes, you can use the standards presented in the table in another article.

Frost resistance and the need for shelter

Without harm to the berries, the cultivated plant can withstand frosts down to -23 degrees. For the winter, shelter is not necessary only for warm regions.

In mid-October, the vines are covered with dense materials - this is how the Bogatyanov species survives frosts and again pleases with a bountiful harvest for next year.

Shelter for the winter is a very important step for the preservation of many grape varieties after wintering.

Diseases and pests

The grapes are resistant to disease, but require attention. The variety is more resistant than others:

  • to mildew;
  • oidium;
  • gray rot;
  • powdery mildew.

For infectious diseases and insects, treatment is carried out twice - in early spring and autumn, when the leaves have fallen. For this process, a gentle agrochemical solution is recommended, specially prepared for fruit and horticultural crops.

Storage

Bogatyanovsky grapes have a long shelf life due to their high sugar content. Bunches grown on the south side last longer.
