All automatic washing machines sometimes fail. Even reliable “washing machines” from Germany under the Bosch brand are not spared this fate. Breakdowns can be of a different nature and affect any work nodes. Today our focus will be on replacing shock absorbers.

What it is?

The heaviest part in the design of any automatic machine is the drum tank. To hold them in the desired position, a pair of shock absorbers is used, only in a few models their number increases to 4. These parts are responsible for damping vibration and kinetic energy that arise during spinning. The shock absorber in the Bosch washing machine is in good condition, or rather, its rack can be easily expanded and folded. In a worn or broken state, the shock absorber strut begins to lock.

In such a situation, the energy cannot be absorbed, therefore it dissipates and makes the machine jump all over the room.

A shock absorber malfunction can be identified by a number of other signs:

  • slow rotation of the drum, in which a corresponding message can be displayed on the display;

  • deformation of the case washing machine usually appear during spinning, the cause of which is the drum, which beats against the walls.

Where is?

Shock absorbers in Bosch washing machines are located below, under the drum. To get to them, you will have to disassemble the front panel and turn the machine over... Only in some models that are compact (for example, Maxx 5 and Maxx 4 and some other units), it will be enough to lay the machine on the edge.

How to replace?

Replacing a shock absorber at home requires preparation of a tool and a repair kit. From the tool, the following elements will come in handy:

  • screwdriver;

  • a 13 mm drill will allow you to cope with factory mountings and dismantle faulty shock absorbers;

  • a set of heads and screwdrivers;

  • awl and pliers.

The repair kit will consist of the following parts.

  1. It is better to buy new shock absorbers from the manufacturer. Although the Chinese counterparts are cheaper, their quality leaves much to be desired. On the official website, you can easily find the right parts for any model.

  2. 13mm bolts, nuts and washers - all parts are bought in pairs.

When everything you need is at hand, you can start repairing your washing machine. This process will consist of several stages.

  1. Disconnect the “washing machine” from the mains and disconnect the inlet hose, shutting off the water in advance. We also disconnect the drain hose and siphon. All hoses are twisted and retracted to the side so that they do not interfere during operation.

  2. We take out the automatic machine and we position it in such a way that there is a convenient approach from all sides.

  3. Dismantle the top cover and powder receptacle.

  4. On the side of the control panel we see a screw that needs to be unscrewed... Together with this, we unscrew the screws located behind the powder receptacle.

  5. We remove the panel to the side without sudden movements so as not to disturb the wiring.

  6. Turn the machine over and put it on the back wall... On the bottom, near the front legs, you can see the fasteners that need to be unscrewed.

  7. Open the door, use a screwdriver to pry on the clamp holding the cuff, loosen and remove... After these steps, the cuff can already be tucked into the drum.

  8. Removing the front wall, being careful, since the wires from the UBL are attached to it - they must be disconnected.

  9. Behind the front wall are the shock absorbers that we got to. Each of them needs to be pumped, which will make sure of their malfunction.

  10. To remove the shock absorbers, it is necessary to unscrew the lower screws and the upper ones. You will need a drill for the top mounts.

  11. Old shock absorbers are not needed, so they can be scrapped. In their place, new parts are installed, fixed and checked by swinging the tank.

  12. In reverse order we carry out the assembly of the machine.

In such a simple way, you can repair the washing machine with your own hands. This job is not the easiest one, nevertheless everyone is able to cope with it.
