Ceiling in different styles: ideas in the interior

Ceiling in different styles: ideas in the interior
  1. Provencal style
  2. High tech
  3. Imitation of a palace
  4. Country
  5. Other styles

The ceiling in the house can look very diverse and even original, but in addition to your own preferences and the characteristics of the surrounding objects, you need to take into account the specifics of style when decorating it. There are many different directions, and only by clearly understanding how this or that option should look like, it will be possible to avoid mistakes during repair.

Provencal style

The Provence décor emulates a traditional country house on the Mediterranean coast of France. The characteristic features of this approach are a flexible combination of grace and outward simplicity, complete elimination of pomp and pomp. There are several ways to embody the Provencal atmosphere in the ceiling of an ordinary Russian house.

Most often they use white and create emphatically rough wood beams.

You can diversify this traditional approach by "lowering" wood onto the wall. with the formation of a discreet, thoroughly thought-out pattern. It is recommended to smooth out the texture of wooden beams in every possible way through decor - curtains made of light fabrics, classic upholstered furniture. The use of translucent backlit inserts looks very good, but radical color experiments are best left to professional designers.

If you equip the plasterboard beams with hidden lighting, this will also be a good solution. But it is important to consider that even large rooms with low walls can look worse if the volumetric elements turn out to be disproportionately large. In a Provencal interior, even a multi-level ceiling will be appropriate.

The lighting and the direction of the rays of light should be carefully thought out in order to finally improve the overall appearance of the room.

High tech

This type of ceiling appeared at the end of the last century. He maximally emphasizes the priority of high technologies.

The characteristic features of this option are:

  • creating maximum space;
  • using only the most modern materials;
  • the use of cold colors (warm shades are rarely used).

Imitation of a palace

The "baroque" format is distinguished primarily by its high height (it cannot be used in low rooms). The ceiling space is maximally equipped with arches and vaults. A very good step is to use stucco and framing chandeliers and wall intersections with embossed edging. The most sophisticated and sophisticated options involve painting with frescoes or applying images by photo printing. It is desirable that the plots correspond to the Renaissance era.

Country

As in the case of Provence, the creators of the style were inspired by nature and sought to create the most natural setting. Even if you resort to synthetic materials, it should not be noticeable externally. It is imperative to use it in untreated wood, and only if it is impossible to do this, processed structures are used. They must definitely preserve the original texture, since the loss of it is categorically unacceptable.

The country setting requires the use of natural pastel colors, but by no means saturated and bright tones.

A darkened tree (a thick bar or even a log) works very well.

In urban housing, polyurethane and expanded polystyrene beams will help to reproduce the same effect. The gaps between them should be sewn up with wooden clapboard, you can create a ceiling based on MDF, which reproduces the wood texture. It is unacceptable to use PVC panels, because the "wood" pattern on glossy vinyl will absolutely not correspond to the concept.

Other styles

The Scandinavian-style ceiling repeats the general features of this design trend - an abundance of space and light, the predominance of discreet tones and natural materials. The concept is ideally revealed when using wood, and even a relatively high price can hardly be considered a disadvantage. Combining a rough ceiling structure (complemented by beams) with light-colored walls in a single interior can create a subtle contrast.

But it must be borne in mind that floors in apartments do not always withstand the created load, and only in private houses such a solution turns out to be an appropriate step.

In the bedrooms, a combination of key tones - white, beige and brown will be well perceived. Skillful design approach allows you not to be afraid of any problems, including excessive color uniformity. For the attic, it is recommended to use a laminate that imitates the appearance of natural wood well, while it is much cheaper and lighter than natural counterparts.

Japanese-style canon is sophistication and mystery, but at the same time it is impossible to make the situation too pretentious. The key shapes associated with an exotic country are squares and rectangles; you can always create this kind of structure on your ceiling, realizing the most daring ideas.

You cannot mix a square and a rectangle in one interior, either one option or another is used. The exact choice depends on how large the area of the room is and what its own geometry is.

As in all traditional approaches, when creating a Japanese ceiling, it is advisable to use only natural materials (exceptions are made for plastics and synthetic fibers, which in appearance resemble an oriental design).

The ceiling in the style of minimalism should be strict and laconic, so the presence of unnecessary accessories is absolutely unacceptable. It is very important to experiment with the brightness of the luminous flux and divide it into several parts. At the same time, in the ideal design, the lamps themselves should not be visible at all, in extreme cases, you need to take the simplest and most elegant light sources.

Ceiling structures in modern design are characterized by strict functionality, external quality factor and maximum masking of visual defects. The number of design options is very large, the chic illuminated stained-glass windows mounted on the ceiling block of a fancy configuration are especially noteworthy. When this solution is not to your liking, you can try the "starry sky overhead" option, which does not have to be very dark.

Daring designers sometimes decide on extraordinary experiments, such as creating multi-level structures in the form of horizontal panels or applying an imitation of the atlas of the world to the ceiling.

The style of the "chalet" is focused on the active use of wood. Since shepherds in the old days categorically avoided painting the ceiling, from year to year it only became darker. Modern people who want to create the most stylish atmosphere and accurately reproduce the canons of the "chalet" should initially acquire material in more saturated shades. Replacement beams can be lamellas made of plastic or patinated MDF, formed in the form of squares, rhombuses or rectangles.

The "modern" style is absolutely opposite to the previous version: here you need to be prepared for quite significant material costs. The ceiling is necessarily equipped with a spectacular lamp - a chandelier with crystal elements. As additional decorative elements, you can use plaster stucco molding, using both symmetrical and asymmetric motifs and lines.

English-style ceilings are no less colorful than modernist ones. Wooden "coffered" solutions fully reproduce the atmosphere of an old British home from the heyday of the empire. There is another way: using beams, the gaps between which are covered with white paint. And finally, the English style is also plaster stucco molding on plain ceilings, this version is no less authentic than the two previous variations.

Regardless of the option chosen, the upper part of the room should be in harmony with the floor and walls.

In conclusion, we will consider eco-style with a simple, light and as airy format as possible. You can use not only slats or beams, but also photo print solutions that allow you to display a randomly selected image. It is worth using a drawing that is insignificant in size and laconic in terms of the plot, and not try to create the largest possible composition.

It is unacceptable to use layered designs that would look too unnatural in such a composition.
