Transparent roller shutters made of flexible and durable polycarbonate have become an alternative to windows in open buildings such as verandas and gazebos. This type of window and door protective structure has excellent ability to transmit light by blocking ultraviolet light.

Modern material is endowed with such characteristics as resistance to UV rays and mechanical stress, temperature extremes and high humidity. At the same time, it performs a decorative function. Therefore, the use of transparent roller shutters is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Peculiarities

Standard translucent construction is polycarbonate, aluminum rails and box. Manufacturers use reliable monolithic polycarbonate for the production of such roller shutters.

For roller shutter lamellas, the extrusion method is used to give them the optimum density.

Polycarbonate is a non-flammable and non-toxic material, it is safe for humans and the atmosphere, and is resistant to chemically aggressive components. Up to 95% of natural light penetrates through the polycarbonate roller shutters. As necessary, it is allowed to drill, twist and glue the material, therefore it is possible to create roller shutters of different shapes. Polycarbonate shutters can last up to 15 years or more - it depends on the operating conditions.

Translucent structures can protect the room from unfavorable weather, maintain an optimal microclimate in the room. At the same time, it will be possible to maintain an open atmosphere in the space. Installation of polycarbonate roller shutters can be carried out independently, and it is also possible to entrust this work to the hands of experienced specialists.

  • noise and heat insulation.

According to the control mechanism, roller shutters made of polymer translucent honeycomb plastic 3 mm are divided into mechanical and automatic types. Spring- and belt-inertial and gear-cord drives are manually adjusted. The design is distinguished by the permissible load level: for roller shutters up to 20 kg, a gear-cord or belt-inertial drive is suitable.

Heavy-weight structures made of monolithic polycarbonate, withstanding a load of 100 kg, are equipped with spring-inertial blocks.

The electric drive is considered the most expensive option, while the maximum allowable load is up to 200 kg. Roller shutters are controlled automatically by means of buttons, a magnetic card or a digital code on the remote control.

Installation rules

In order to completely close the opening with roller shutters, it is important to correctly measure the finished window or door structure. You can find out the parameters of the openings, armed with a construction tape. If the width is up to 2 meters, you cannot do without additional amplifiers. And with the width of the window opening over 5 meters, you will already have to take care of the reinforcing aluminum profiles.

Installation of transparent polycarbonate roller shutters is possible in several ways, each of which has its own advantages and features.

  • Overhead. Installation of shutters is carried out on the outside, on the upper part of the working niche.
  • Built in. Such installation of the box creates the effect of a solid structure, without attracting undue attention to itself. The mechanisms located inside do not come into contact with moisture and are not subject to adverse factors from the outside.
  • Combined inside. Embedding the box in the niche of a door or window. The structure is difficult to see and is compact, which enhances the aesthetics of the interior.
  • Combined outside. The device of the frame in the opening from the street. Creates the illusion of integrity and does not spoil the aesthetics of the opening. The most suitable option for public and residential buildings, allowing full use of the window opening.
