Euro-duplex apartments are considered an excellent alternative to standard two-room apartments. They are much cheaper, convenient in layout and are great for both small families and singles.

In order to visually enlarge the space of the rooms and give their interior an atmosphere of coziness and home warmth, it is important to correctly design the design using zoning, modern decoration and multifunctional furniture.

What it is?

Euro-two is an inexpensive housing option for people whose financial capabilities do not allow them to buy full-fledged two-room apartments... Since their footage is small (ranging from 30 to 40 m2), it is often necessary to combine a living room with a bedroom or kitchen. At the same time, the living room and the kitchen are not separated by a wall. The Europlanning of a two-room apartment in each house looks differently, but most often the “Euro-two” consists of a living room-kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom (combined or separate).

In such apartments, you can often find storage rooms, dressing rooms, a corridor and a balcony.

The advantages of euro-two include the following.

  • The ability to create additional space. So, for example, the kitchen can act at the same time as a place for meeting guests, sleeping and preparing food. This allows you to make a nursery from the second room.
  • Affordable price. Unlike standard kopeck pieces, the cost of such apartments is 10-30% lower. This is an ideal housing option for young families.
  • Convenient location of rooms. Thanks to this, you can create a single style of the room.

As for the shortcomings, they include:

  • the absence of windows in the kitchen, because of this, many sources of artificial lighting have to be installed;
  • smells from food quickly spread throughout the apartment;
  • it is necessary to use silent equipment in the kitchen;
  • the complexity of choosing furniture of the required dimensions.

When designing a design in "Euro-style" it is important to take into account the fact that individual rooms are small, so they cannot be overloaded with decor items.

It is best to choose light colors for surface finishing, and use mirrors in the interior to visually expand the space.

How to plan the footage?

The layout of the "Euro-duplex" begins with determining which room will be adjacent to the kitchen. Some apartment owners draw up a plan in such a way that the kitchen is fenced off by the bedroom, others combine it with the living room. Wherein, if square meters allow, then you can fit into the layout and a small dining area.

Whatever type of layout is chosen, the most important thing is that the functionality of the premises is not lost.

So, in the "euro-two" apartment with an area of 32 m2, it is possible to design not only a kitchen-living room, but also a study or a dressing room located on an insulated loggia:

  • the living space will take 15 m2;
  • bedroom - 9 m2
  • entrance hall - 4 m2;
  • combined bathroom - 4 m2.

It is also important to provide for the presence of niches for sliding wardrobes in such a layout.... It is best to separate the kitchen from the living room with a transparent partition. As for the design, then an excellent choice would be eco, high-tech and Scandinavian style, which are characterized by the absence of a mass of unnecessary items.

"Euro-duplexes" with an area of 35 m2 are more spacious and offer great opportunities for the implementation of any design ideas. Living space in such apartments should be functional and stylish. It is recommended to plan the footage as follows:

  • living room combined with kitchen - 15.3 m2;
  • corridor - 3.7 m2;
  • bathroom combined with a toilet - 3.5 m2;
  • bedroom - 8.8 m2;
  • balcony - 3.7 m2.

The living room and the kitchen can be divided by a bar counter, which can successfully perform space zoning and save square meters on the design of the dining area.

It is advisable to place the living room, represented at the same time as a living room and a bedroom, directly opposite the entrance to the apartment, equipping it with compact upholstered furniture and a coffee table.

Also found on the market "Euro-duplexes" with an area of 47 m2 and more. They are usually laid out as follows:

  • at least 20 m2 is allocated for the design of the kitchen-living room;
  • bedroom dimensions are 17 m2;
  • bathroom - at least 5 m2;
  • hall - at least 5 m2.

If necessary, the wall between the kitchen and the toilet can be moved. The transitions between rooms should be smooth, therefore, the ceiling and walls should be finished in white, and for the flooring, choose a material with a light wood texture.

The living room from the bedroom can be separated not by a wall, but by a glass partition, this will give the living space a holistic look and a sense of freedom.

Zoning options

In order to get a comfortable layout and a beautiful design in a modern Euro-duplex, it is necessary to correctly define the boundaries of the rooms. For this, zoning is often used with furniture, partitions, lighting and the color of decorative finishes. So, for example, the kitchen can be slightly "raised" above the floor, making it on a special podium.

This will allow a warm floor system to be placed without compromising height. If all rooms are decorated in one style direction, then it is recommended to carry out zoning with the help of lighting and lamps.

Glass, wooden screens also look good in Euro-duplexes, they take up little space and add chic to the interior.

If it is necessary to visually separate the kitchen from the living room, then you can combine the dining table with the bar counter. To do this, L- or U-shaped countertops are placed in the cooking area, and hanging shelves are chosen instead of overall wall cabinets.

In living rooms and children's rooms, combined with a study, desks are combined with window sills, and zoning is carried out using multi-level stretch ceilings.

Beautiful examples

Today, the "euro-apartment" can be planned and equipped in various ways, while it is important to take into account not only personal preferences, but also the area of the apartment. So, the following design options may be suitable for the design of small Euro-duplexes.

  • Kitchen combined with living room. The size of the kitchen will allow you to install a large leather sofa in the center of it. On the opposite side of it, it is appropriate to install a floor lamp and a small armchair, this will allow you to enjoy a book in the evenings. In addition, to equip the kitchen-living room, you need to choose wooden cabinets and racks of light shades, narrow shelves filled with small decor items. One of the walls can be decorated in a loft style - a brick, giving preference to gray shades. Stretch ceilings with LED backlighting will look gorgeous in this design. Separately, above the dining table, you need to hang chandeliers on long cords.
  • Living room combined with a bedroom. During planning, it is important to try to partially use the space, leaving some free space. Glass panels, mirrors and indoor flowers will look great in the living room area. It is best to avoid placing large and heavy structures. Additionally, you can also combine the kitchen with the dining room by placing an island counter in pastel colors. The installation of a glossy ceiling will help to visually expand the space. In the bedroom area, you will have to place a mirror with a dressing table, a small wardrobe and a folding sofa bed.

      In spacious "Euro-duplexes" an interior that combines several styles will be appropriate. The smallest room - a bathroom - needs to be decorated in a minimalist style, filling it with decorative items made of plastic and glass. The decorative finish is best done in a milky, beige or cream color.

      It is recommended to combine the kitchen with the living room or bedroom at your personal discretion. The combined room must have open storage systems, it must be equipped with furniture made from natural materials, giving preference to the shades characteristic of the Scandinavian style (gray, white, blue, beige). A bedroom can be decorated in a classic style with minimal furniture filling, since its area will be no more than 20% of the entire apartment.
