Bosch is home appliances manufactured in Germany for several decades. Many household appliances produced under a well-known brand have established themselves as high-quality and reliable. Washing machines were no exception.

But during the operation of even high-quality equipment, breakdowns occur: the machine does not drain or collect water, an error code is displayed on the panel. Often such malfunctions in the operation of a Bosch machine occur due to the fact that the filter is clogged.

How do I get the filter?

Bosch washing machines have 2 types of filters.

  1. The first is located at the junction of the machine with the water supply hose. It is a metal mesh that protects the motor from possible impurities from the water supply. It can be silt, sand, rust.
  2. The second is located under the front panel of the washing machine. Water is drained through this filter during washing and rinsing. It contains objects that can come off clothes or fall out of pockets.

In order to get the filter mesh installed in the place where the water is supplied to the machine, it is enough to unscrew the water hose. The filter mesh can be easily removed by grasping it with tweezers.

The second filter is hidden under the front panel. And in order to clean it, you need to remove it.

Depending on the model, this hole can be hidden under a dedicated hatch or bezel.

For top-loading machines, the drain can be located on the side panel.

The drain filter hatch is a dedicated panel that found in all Bosch machine models in the lower right corner. It can be either square or round.

The bezel is a narrow strip located at the bottom of the front panel. You can remove this cover by sliding it off the hooks. To do this, the panel must be lifted up.

In order to remove the desired part, it is necessary to remove the panel from the latches by pressing on its upper part. Then it is necessary to unscrew the filter itself, for which it is necessary to turn it counterclockwise 2-3 times.

In that case, if the part does not unscrew well, you need to wrap it in a thick cloth. This will prevent your fingers from sliding off the part and can be easily removed.

Cleaning steps

Before removing the drain filter, you must prepare a flat container and floor rags, as water can accumulate at the location of the filter. Next, you need to perform the following manipulations:

  • de-energize the household appliance;
  • spread the rags on the floor and prepare a container for draining the water;
  • open the panel and unscrew the desired part;
  • clean the filter from dirt and foreign objects;
  • carefully clean the hole in the machine from dirt, where the filter will be installed after;
  • install the filter in its place;
  • close the panel.

After completing these simple steps, the filter will be cleaned of contamination. But often after that, you can face the fact that water begins to leak from it.

If this happens, it means that the filter is not completely or loosely screwed in.

To eliminate leakage, it is enough to unscrew the spare part and then put it back in place.

How to choose a product?

Hard water, detergents, long-term use - all this can affect the clogging of the drain filter, and it can be difficult to clean it with plain water.

But it is not worth using abrasive cleaning agents or compounds based on chlorine or acid for cleaning.So the material from which spare parts for Bosch household appliances are made can be damaged by aggressive substances.

That's why for cleaning, you can use soapy water or dishwashing detergent. Also a great option might be special agent for washing machines.

During cleaning, do not use hard nets and sponges - only a soft cloth.

So, by following simple recommendations, you can independently clean the drain hole, not call the master and save family budget funds.

And in order to avoid damage to the washing machine in the future, the drain hole must be cleaned regularly. And it is also necessary to ensure that foreign objects do not fall into the drum of the washing machine.
