Pepper Fat Baron is not a new variety, due to which it managed to win the love of gardeners. The culture has another name - Big master. The variety is happily chosen by farmers who are attracted by the impressive size of the vegetable, its taste and benefits for the body. Breeding history

Culture was born at the end of the 90s of the twentieth century on the territory of Transnistria. Such breeders as Dederko V.N., Ugarova S.V., Postnikova T.N.Later, this type of pepper was added to the list of the State Register of our country. The plant was admitted to mass cultivation in 2007.

Description of the variety

Experts classify the species under consideration as a sweet species, characterized by early maturity and large-fruited. It is allowed to cultivate the Fat Baron not only in the open field, but also in greenhouses.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and fruits

The Fat Baron is of the medium-sized type. The plant rises above the ground at a height of about 100-120 centimeters. The bushes are closed, each can form up to 15 peppers, which, according to their position, stretch to the sky. The rich green leaves are voluminous in size, covered with barely noticeable wrinkles.

The size of the fruit is significant, in shape they repeat the prism. One pepper weighs an average of 106-167 grams.

Unripe vegetables are deep green in color, ripe vegetables are dark scarlet. A glossy sheen is visible on the peel. The walls of the fetus are powerful - about 7-10 millimeters in thickness. There are 3-4 seed chambers.

Purpose and taste

The described variety is versatile. The fruits are eaten directly from the garden, they are included in soups, salads and other dishes. They are also good for pickling, freezing, stuffing. The vegetable exudes a persistent aroma, has a juicy, sweet pulp (the sugar level in its composition is around 10%). The variety is praised for its health benefits, nature has generously endowed the fruits with trace elements, amino acids, vitamins of groups A, B and C.

Ripening terms

The considered variety is considered early. The fruiting period usually begins 90-100 days after planting. This time falls at the beginning of July. Ripe peppers form until around mid-October.

Yield

It is noticed that the productivity of the Fat Baron is directly dependent on the cultivation conditions. If all the rules for care are observed, the farmer can harvest an average of 2.6 kilograms per square meter.

Growing regions

The cultivation geography of this variety is very extensive. The fat baron matures with success in the Volga-Vyatka, Middle Volga, northern, Far Eastern, Central, West Siberian, Lower Volga, Northwestern, Ural, East Siberian, Central Black Earth regions.

Landing scheme

When starting the planting process, you should keep the distance between the holes (about 40 centimeters) and rows (about 50 centimeters). It is necessary to ensure that there are no more than three or four plants per square meter.

To get a large and tasty harvest of pepper, you need to take care of the seedlings in advance.When growing pepper seedlings, you need to correctly determine the sowing time, pre-sowing seed treatment, prepare the necessary container and soil.

Growing and care

It is necessary to plant seeds of this variety approximately 75 days before moving the seedlings into the ground. The seed is immersed in the ground to a depth of one and a half centimeters. The container is covered with glass or foil, the room temperature is maintained at + 26 ... 28 degrees. Seedlings should form on average within one to two weeks. Young plants are sent to a permanent place when the threat of frost has passed, for example, in May, and in the northern regions in June.

When caring for peppers, water them once or twice a week. In addition, vegetables need regular loosening of the soil, mulching, garter, weeding and feeding. Fertilizing a crop is 3-4 times during the growing season. You can add ash solution, urea, mullein solution, superphosphate, potassium salt to the soil. Harvest is removed as the peppers ripen.
