In the variety of pepper varieties, it is difficult to choose the best variety for planting, so you should give preference to proven crops that have won the love of gardeners and farmers. These include the mid-early sweet pepper Kirill, which is famous for abundant and stable fruiting.

Description of the variety

Cyril is a vegetable crop bred in 2012. The authorship belongs to the well-known scientists Yu.I. Panchev and Yu.Yu. Panchev. The variety was added to the register for Russia in 2013. The vegetable is cultivated in different regions of the Russian Federation. Pepper can be grown in garden beds, as well as under film shelters and in greenhouse structures.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and fruits

Pepper Kirill is a tall and powerful plant of the standard type. In favorable conditions, the pepper bush grows to a height of 100-110 cm. The plant is characterized by semi-spreading branches, good thickening with light green foliage, abundant mixed flowering and a superficial root system. The central stem of the bush is erect and strong. On average, up to 15 leveled specimens are formed and matured on the bushes. The peppers are located on the bushes wilted.

The variety belongs to the large-fruited category. The bushes ripen vegetables weighing from 170 to 200 grams and a length of 10-13 cm. The shape of the fruit is correct - conical. During the period of technical ripeness, the vegetable is covered with a yellowish cream color, and the ripe pepper acquires a uniform light red cover. The wall thickness of the vegetable is average - 6-7 mm. The surface of the fruit is smooth, with a pronounced gloss and slight ribbing. There are usually 2-3 seed chambers inside the pepper.

Thanks to the strong and dense peel, vegetables are not afraid of long transportation. In addition, the harvested pepper has good keeping quality. It is characteristic that the removed peppers in an immature state can ripen at room temperature, and then stored for a long time without losing their useful and taste qualities.

Purpose and taste

Kirill pepper has a wonderful taste and aroma. The pulp is characterized by a fleshy, moderately firm, slightly crispy and juicy structure without wateriness and bitterness. The fruit has a sweet, slightly sugary taste with a bright peppery aroma. Unripe peppers also have sweetness and aroma.

The harvested crop can be widely used in cooking: peppers are eaten fresh, baked, added to salads and soups, decorated with various dishes, frozen and canned. Due to its meatiness and juiciness, the vegetable is ideal for processing into sauces and dressings.

Ripening terms

Pepper Kirill belongs to the mid-early group. The growing season of the culture lasts 110-115 days. The germination and maturation of the culture are friendly. You can evaluate the taste and aroma of the first fruits already in mid-July. Mass ripening and yield of the crop falls on July-August. It is recommended to remove ripe peppers 2 times a week.

Yield

The yield indicators for the variety are excellent. The average yield is 2.2 kg / m2. In greenhouses, the yield is much higher - up to 6-7 kg of vegetables from 1 m2 of plantings.

Landing scheme

When planting plants, it is recommended to always observe the density and distance between the pepper bushes, which will provide them with access to light, air and heat.Up to 4-5 pepper bushes can be placed on 1 m2. Landing is carried out according to the standard 40x40 cm scheme.

To get a large and tasty harvest of pepper, you need to take care of the seedlings in advance. When growing pepper seedlings, you need to correctly determine the sowing time, pre-sowing seed treatment, prepare the necessary container and soil.

Growing and care

The vegetable is cultivated mainly in seedlings. Strong bushes 60-65 days old with a height of 18-20 cm and 3-5 true leaves are selected as planting material. Planting in the greenhouse is carried out in mid-May. Bushes are planted in open ground in late May - early June, when the temperature stabilizes and the soil warms up enough. Good crop precursors are pumpkin, squash, and carrots.

Vegetable care is standard - moderate watering, organizing fertilizers several times per season (alternating organic matter and mineral complexes), loosening and weeding the soil, forming and tying a bush, preventing viruses and pest infestations.

To harvest a tasty and rich harvest of pepper, you need to comply with all the conditions of agricultural technology, and proper care begins with planting plants. Before planting pepper in open ground, it should be prepared. It is also important to take care of the seedlings and planting space in advance.

One of the most important conditions for growing healthy and strong peppers is correct and timely watering, which is necessary for active growth, rapid rooting and good fruiting of plants in a greenhouse or open field. The soil under it should not dry out. This can be achieved by following the basic recommendations. First of all, you should be guided by the weather. In addition, the phase of development of the plants is important, as well as the way the peppers are grown - in a greenhouse or in the open field.
Although pepper has a tree-like stem structure, it still needs additional support. If the peppers are not tied up, the plants will begin to lean to the ground under the weight of ripening fruits, the stem may break. Low-growing varieties, as a rule, do not need a garter. But for tall and hybrid varieties, it is necessary.
Every summer resident who decides to grow pepper on his site must learn how to form it correctly. The formation of pepper is one of the simplest and most effective agricultural techniques that allow you to extend the term and increase the fruiting of a crop.

Soil requirements

Sweet pepper Kirill, like many of its congeners, loves light, fluffy, moist and nutritious soils with good air permeability. It is important that the soil has a low acidity index and is not waterlogged.

For good growth of pepper bushes and active fruiting, you need to regularly apply mineral and organic fertilizing to the soil. It is necessary not only to choose the right formulations, but also to use them at the right stage in the development of culture. The frequency of top dressing is always individual. It depends directly on the composition of the land on your site. The poorer the soil composition, the more often you will need to feed the pepper.

Required climatic conditions

Vegetable culture has a good resistance to stress, so it easily tolerates cold snaps and sharp temperature fluctuations. The vegetable should be planted on a flat or slightly elevated area with good lighting, access to the sun and heat. Groundwater must flow deeply (at least 1 meter) so that there is no excessive moisture stagnation.

Disease and pest resistance

The variety has good immunity, providing resistance to many diseases, for example, fusarium wilting. In addition, pepper is tolerant to the tobacco mosaic virus.

Pepper is one of the most common vegetables in home gardens. This culture is quite stable and unpretentious. However, under certain conditions, this plant can suffer from infections and harmful insects. Before treating peppers for diseases or pests, you need to find out the cause of the problem, otherwise the treatment may be ineffective.
